Once More: The Truth On The Keystone Pipeline

At a time when gas prices are rising around the World because of the saber rattling going on between Israel and Iran and the Republican candidates tough talk against Iran, we find gas prices rising.This is not because of a lack of drilling nor is it because of the hold up with the Keystone Pipeline which the Republicans are advocating along with Exon Oil. This is a political year and since the Republicans cannot deny an improvement in our economy, they have latched onto the high gas prices at the pump.

Despite which candidate or Exon’s new ad on the Keystone Pipeline, no President in America, regardless of party affiliations,no Prime Minister in the Uk, no Chancellor in Germany, or no head in the global region has control over the prices we and they are seeing at the gas pumps. These prices are set by OPEC and speculators on Wall Street. The same rises we are feeling are being felt elsewhere in the World.

Much has been made about the Keystone Pipeline from Canada lowering the prices we Americans pay for gasoline at the pumps.  I tried to explain the truth on this and sort out all the lies, previously, but will give more detailed information, this time.

The Keystone Pipeline is totally Canadian owned.  It is cheaper for them to build a pipeline across the heartland of America to send their crude oil to our refineries in Texas than to continue having it transported by truck or rail across the Continent of America. More Americans will lose jobs than gain jobs as a result of the Keystone Pipeline.

There is absolutely no gain what-so-ever to anyone, other than Canada, the 200 part time workers they will hire, the 50 full time workers they will keep on, and the Oil Refinery Companies who will aid the Republicans in their re-election bids. The oil Companies’ claim along with the Republicans’ claim that it will provide 200,000 new jobs is simply a falsehood and has been called the same by management at Keystone,itself.

The American oil refineries, Canadian oil, China and Japan will all gain as a result of the Keystone Pipeline; not a single drop of this oil is destined for consumption in the United States.

America is running out of water and especially clean drinking water. Our water shortage in America is far greater than any other resources that have been available to us in the past. For more than a decade a couple of companies have been working on taking salt water out of the ocean and trying to refine both the taste, as well as the safety level for human consumption, with mixed results. 

No State in the Nation has more underground water than the State of Nebraska. Not only is the State dependent on this clean water so are the many States in which this water drains or who get their water driven energy from the State of Nebraska. Any lack of attention to the pipeline as has been reported elsewhere, once it is established(if it is) will desimate the last bastion of clean underground water in our Nation. It is of utmost importance that this water not be defiled by the Keystone Pipeline.  Since the Keystone’s plans are to go through the aquifer region of the State, the decision to admit the pipeline that both Exon Oil and the Republicans are trying to rush, is being held up by the State of Nebraska and the OBama Administration along with the Democrats in Washington until they are certain of the safety to both the region as well as the environment and what could be a major source of drinking water for our Nation, in the future. 

Nebraska taxpayers are spending 2 million dollars on the study that will ultimately determine the future of the Keystone Pipeline’s effects on what has been established as the greatest remaining wealth of clean water in the Nation.

Despite knowing the risk that could be involved to the drinking water in the State as well as the environment, the Republicans and Exon Oil are both trying to convince the American voters that they are paying a higher price at the gas pumps because the OBama Administration is standing in their way to lower gas prices at the pump by demanding the construction of the pipeline without further study. 

Let me repeat:The truth is the Democrats and the State of Nebraska do not want to further jeopardize the drinking water of future generations nor be responsible for erosion in the Sandhills of the State that could lead to a return to the “Great American Desert.”. When we know the truth and that a drop of this oil will not go to American citizens, then we know the extent of the lies that we are being told. 

It is time to eliminate those who protect the 1% and their profits over the safety and well being of the American people in November at the election polls. VOTE for those who most represent our needs as well as the future needs of our children and grandchildren.

In 17 States photo ID is now the law as established by the Republican majority. If you need to ask for help in order to establish this ID do not let your pride,fear, or the manipulation taking place at the election place prevent you from asking for help or stop you from voting. Every vote matters as our own future along with the future of America is riding on this election year. It has never been more important that we all exercise our right to vote and to stop the lies along with the efforts being made to prevent equality for all Americans, by the Republican Conservatives and Tea Party sponsored members seeking election or re-election this year.

The Risk Within

I have written many posts, at this point, on taking responsibility. My intention is to express to all, what we often find as fault or blame in others, can actually be as a result of a short coming, within ourselves.

I do not blame the victims or believe that anyone who is being mistreated should ever feel it is their fault. I simply want people to question,themselves, why they do tolerate such behavior and to find what changes they can make,to improve their own lives. Too often we never do ask ourselves what it is we can do or need to do, to improve our own lives. It is always easier to blame others than it is to look for or find solutions for ourselves.

As difficult as it is to accept,for some, the truth is that too many times we do become no different from robots, who go about our daily lives never questioning those who are controlling us or ourselves, if we have a strong urgency to control others, who do fine, without our need to control. We can become apathetic,indifferent,a bully, or too complacent or trusting with the people and power of the World that goes on around us, just as we can with ourselves.

If we simply follow routine, that we have slipped into and take programming from others in our lives, we can often wake up to discover, when the relationship ends, that we have taken too many people in our lives for granted or accepted too poor of a treatment,for ourselves.

As long as we insist that we do not care for politics or feel a need to vote, because we incorrectly think both parties are just alike,or we give our vote to another, without thought, we can often end up to discover the party that protects oil companies and big business is the same that allows Democracy to erode. We must always remember, for instance, that oil companies will and do control the politics of States where oil is King, such as Wyoming,Oklahoma and Texas.No different than what tourism is to Disneyland or Disney World.

If our daily life, ends up with our free time being limited by other’s recommendations or dedicated to the inter-net, some television and radio broadcasts that are not concerned with the truth or the news, but instead report slanted views, and we believe the lies that are often spread through the social media and paid ads, we can too often, end up believing lies over truth, not to mention, without having an original thought of our own.

Without educating ourselves, to the reality and truth over perceptions, the knowledge of which party or candidate will do the best job for us and the middle class,will be lost in ignorance or lies, when we do go to the polls and vote. When this happens it is sometimes ourselves, who are the most ill-equipped to vote,not to mention the most dangerous to Democracy.

It is easy to get caught up in our day-to-day habits and routine, to the point that we become lost to ourselves or perform as robots,never questioning the reality of what we are doing or hearing. The longer we do it the more accepting we become of things that do not make sense, when questioned.

It is not something that we are always aware of, in fact most of us do not even have a clue, until we do have trauma take place in our lives, and it forces us into acknowledging what we have accepted as truth, without questioning, a great deal of the time was merely perception, and does not even come close to being the truth.A for instance of that is, we commonly think modern medicine can cure anything until we get seriously ill, and the great majority of us are surprised at how little medicine does know about cause much less cure. Too many times, our own survival will depend on us being more honest and realistic, when dealing with our own lives.

We cannot blame those who we turned over control of our lives to, simply because we were taking comfort in our own lifestyle or stressing over what had very little real significance,in comparison to where our priorities needed to be, in our own lives, much less in the Democracy of America. We need to remain alert to both past and present history, both in ourselves and our own behavior, as well as in the world, that goes on around us.

I doubt, many of us would or could argue, that if we showed as little interests in our jobs or our families, who we have been Blessed with to guide, as we do in the maintenance of Democracy, we would not be at our current job or a reputable member of our family, for long.

Just as we need to stay on our toes, when it comes to the needs of our friends and family, we also need to be aware of how our own behavior affects those we profess to love, as well as, what happens in the World around us. When we fail to keep up with ourselves and our own needs and behavior, we often fail to keep up with the needs of those around us, as well.

We need to be comfortable in the knowledge, we gain, that our own vote just as our own behavior, can and will safeguard the equality as well as the quality of life for all of us, who do embrace freedom. If we fail to appreciate that those we love the most, ourselves included, can be a statistic tomorrow, we often risk the fact that we will deny our own freedom, when others start talking about changing the Constitution to deny others their rights.

It is too easy to think that as long as we are not complaining then those that we love do not have complaints either. If we are busy shopping and hiding the receipts from our spouses, we fail to realize the short high, that we receive, is often the long misery that they receive, when it comes to balancing the budget.

When we constantly sacrifice while our spouse spends or does nothing but argue with us or dismiss our efforts, we are not so content either.Just as we cannot continue to elect politicians who refuse to do anything for the American people, because the other Party may win. We can too many times go back to the fox guarding the hen-house when we refuse to educate ourselves, both in the future needs of our families as well as our Country.

When we all develop the attitude that we, each, are much more than a robot and the risk of both our family as well as American’s Democracy rests on the shoulders of individuals, we will prove we are all reliable to the rest of the World.We owe all those, who look to us for freedom, the responsibility of maintaining Democracy, by putting as much effort into, “Freedom for All”, as we do into our own families.

It needs to be both our goal as well as our priority to know the differences between each candidate and party,including the Tea Party, before we vote. Democracy as well as the survival of our government,of “We the People,” in America and around the World, depends on it.

Freeing Ourselves From Ignorance

When we accept that our children will represent both the best of us as well as the worst of us, perhaps more people would learn to like themselves and accept others, before they marry, instead of unloading their own baggage on both their marriage as well as their children.

With people waiting longer to marry we have real hope of being able to accomplish doing just that.However, with the falling numbers in the educated since the 1980′s to the drive underway to prevent acceptance of both education and Science in the Right-wing,Tea Party and the Republican platform, taking place, we are seeing an outbreak of bigotry across America instead of an improvement in acceptance of our diversity that does make us the Democracy we are.

On a lighter side perhaps Mother Nature was making us wake up when the earthquake hit the home of the politicians in Washington D.C, who will refuse to allow Science to be part of the Republican platform in 2012. Was she saying if you doubt Science is real I’ll give you a taste of just what Mother Nature still holds through science, by following up with the hurricane as well? Isn’t that the same reasoning that Pat Robertson and Michele Bachmann used to speak of God’s attack on mankind and the Baptist hate group has been using to disrupt military funerals, to show God’s displeasure against gays? Religion has used bad storms and ill-health as signs of God’s displeasure against mankind since the beginning of time and perhaps both are simply normal for the scientific circumstances that exist. I guess it is only fair that we can use it both ways, shouldn’t we think?

Our attitudes are totally dependent, many times, on what we are able to accomplish in understanding ourselves and the reasons behind why we do what we do and why we react to the stimulus in life that we do. Unless we accept Science along with Religion and educate ourselves, we will never fully understand what makes up the components of mankind much less ourselves. The understanding that we reach, through ourselves, also goes towards making huge improvements in how we raise and understand the differences in our own families. Through Science we all learn what makes us tick.

How hypocritical is it that the same party and voters will be the first to embrace modern medicine and support drug companies who base their findings on Science? Are we to believe if they or their loved ones get sick they will refuse Science then as well? Can they tell any difference between atmospheric pressure or the reality that when heat is put into the earth then it must escape somewhere else? What about what goes up must come down? What about reality,is it real?

In homes where both snobbery and bigotry or the self righteous and the intolerant, are central themes, we leave behind an indelible mark for life on our children. Growing up not understanding that to segregate ourselves from others means our own lost, on our future ability to be able to work side by side, in unison, with our fellow workers,can become one of the greatest hardships parents will visit on their children. In America we live in a World of diversity. We are not always going to be able to understand our differences in culture but if we are taught to hate or to separate ourselves from others, because we have been fed hate or told that others are inferior,our children will pay the price of our own ignorance.

Once we all realize that children form cliques in junior high often over nothing more than the brand names of the clothes on their back,because they think the way everybody else in the clique thinks, and the street address of their parents,as well as, group together out of an insecurity and fear to become the individual they are meant to be, perhaps the majority of us can mature enough to accept through Science we learn the only differences that separates all human beings, is the melanin in our skin and that which determines our gender. All mankind are directly made according to their own special genetic code and otherwise there is no difference between the rich,the poor,the races or gender orientation.

The worse kind of segregation takes place in our prisons across America. If that is not an indication of just how we cheat our own families when we choose to set ourselves up as being superior to others, then I do not know what it will take, to open our eyes to the prison we place ourselves and our children in when we can only accept those who share our shade of skin color,think what we think, or live at an address provided by their parents. It should be just a little scary to all of us.

We have not yet reached the place in America,outside of the prison walls, where we do need to depend on the safety in numbers aspect,if we arm ourselves with knowledge through educating ourselves and voting wisely while using common sense in taking precaution, unless we are under attack by criminals,terrorist or our own petty jealousy that often needs companionship, as does snobbery, bigots,and hate groups need to form to keep others out. On the other hand, none of us can deny Mother Nature will always prove to all of us how much we do need to rely on our government, of “For the people by the people,” many times, in order for us all to work together when it comes to digging ourselves out of a National disaster.

The longer we remove truth by removing Science and education from our lives,and replace it with ignorance, the more likely we will reach the point that ignorance will depict how we live. We need to get out of the funk of,” I don’t care anything about politics,” because that will be the number one reason that the ignorant (often times the intolerant or self-righteous) can and will succeed in running America, and we will all be left out of what has become the greatest Democracy of the World.

(Do I need to offer anymore proof of the ignorant ruling America other than looking any further than the Tea Party and the right-wing conservative candidates who have declared and those that may run,for President in 2012, in order to prove my point?)

Cont…..But He Is A Good Father

The two biggest arguments that women use when staying in an abusive relationship are:”I still love him,” and “He is a good father.”

If we could get through the message to people who are abused that it takes both people to show and express love and that love does not hurt then perhaps the abused would look at their relationships more realistically. I’m not sure how we do that,myself, as many times the abused have been told so many times “how worthless they are.” many are convinced that they and their children can not survive if they do leave the marriage. All I do know for certain is that telling women that they do have a duty and obligation to go back to the marriage bed and to try harder to work with their husbands and to pray does not work and often leads to tragedy to the entire family.

All the favorite meals,mood lightening, and following detail to the explicit demands of an abuser does nothing towards stopping the abuse, either. One of the other problems of abuse is many times when women do say, “I don’t have time to do what he wants today,” and he does come home and beats her,she will think it is her fault because she did not follow orders. The abused do start believing that they are as dumb,fat, and ugly as they are being told they are by the abuser. They all forgive and promise they will never do it again,of course,but it never last. During the forgiveness period many are that sweet loveable person the women fell in love with and they become convinced they are deeply in love and could never leave, all over again. Living in fear becomes a rush and if it does not become comfortable then it becomes normal for them, the longer it goes on. It becomes easier all the time to deny all of the rest.

Of course, a parent who is thinking clearly, would never say,”He mistreats me but he is a good father.” We all understand that children cannot watch turmoil between their parents and come out with anything but psychological damage as a result of it.We know that whether children are watching abuse take place on others or it being inflicted on themselves, it alters the personality of the person they were meant to be as early as 3 years of age. To cause this kind of damage to a child does not make any of us a good parent when we realize that this type of harm or damage will affect the entire life of our children. They will grow up totally confused as to how to effectively deal with a relationship and many times will abuse themselves.

Other times the children come out just as demoralized as the battered women because just as she has no self-esteem or identity beyond him neither do the children. The sons will often repeat the same disgusting names to both their mother or sisters as are coming out of the mouth of the abuser.Many times he learns that the only value women have is to wait on and look after a man. The sons learn to bully and the daughters learn to withdraw, other times sons will become intimidated and withdraw while daughters become more aggressive and tend to become more sexually active when incest, many times becomes part of the abuse as well. This is typical behavior patterns when the abused are saying.”He is a good father.” no differently than when the children are being beaten as well.

Policemen can pick up the mentally ill and have them hospitalized without family approval in cases of discovery according to the Baker law. The problem is that putting women into shelters under the same circumstances will often times jeopardize the safety of the other abused women who are in hiding. If the victims do not want to go or be there, which is often the case, they will get ahold of their abusers and let them know where they are and once the secret address of the shelter becomes known then the safety it offers for other abused victims no longer exists.

Like all of the problems that do seem unsolvable there are solutions once an entire community of experts put their heads together to come up with different ideas. Sadly that all costs money and time and too many do not have one or the other to offer to the group. I am the first to admit that I do not have much to offer in way of solution,myself. I just understand that as long as we ourselves go into denial when our friends tell us they ran into something that gave them the black eye,because we do not want to embarrass our friend,we do the abused a disservice by not discussing it. Too many are ashamed to talk about it but once confronted by understanding instead of accusations, when the relationship is a close one,many times they will want to talk.

If we educate ourselves on the knowledge available to them like going to see their Doctor or the police and enquire about getting into a shelter or they will only repeat the behavior until it becomes worse, we can help empower them. Offering sympathy will only make them feel better temporary and they will go back to the abuse. Other times they will rely on us for their courage and do nothing else, Many times when the abuser finds out the abused are relying on a confidant they will end the relationship. I repeat, we need to empower them to get help so they do not rely on our hand holding but instead rely on their own ability to seek help.

Currently in some of the States when police are being called to domestic calls, both the abuser and the victim are being arrested and spend the night in jail or at least a couple of hours until things cool down a little. I do not think putting abused victims in jail is right but if we did pass laws that made protecting abuse and abusers illegal in our State, perhaps the abused could be hospitalized and at least kept long enough to try to work with the mental damage that is often done to the entire family by an abuser. I can already see the problems that could come out of that as well, and that is why abuse is such a difficult problem to work with and to solve.

Like everything else that is preventive, we simply need to learn and educate ourselves while we are dating and making lifetime choices for a mate. If he or she strikes or hits us or throws things at us, while dating, he or she will become much worse after marriage. Dating is the time that we are on the best of behavior and any names being thrown at us while dating will go from being cute to vindictive after marriage. Anger that is not part of the grieving process very rarely subsides without being able to release it. Healthy people will talk to someone or get professional help in order to either let go or to work more effectively around it. Others hide it behind alcohol and drugs. If we are doing both with the abusers while dating then we need to understand the hell we will put our children through if we marry them and continue the same recreational behavior.

All parents need to know and understand just how important an education beyond highschool is to all of our children. Both boys and girls. Too many times the number one reason that our children do stay in an abusive situation is because of the fear that they could not financially support their children alone,as well as, they can by staying in the abusive situation. Education does not only give them the out to do that but it also establishes the confidence in our children that often leads to their knowing they deserve better and to get out before any more damage is done to their children or our grandchildren. None of the expensive birthday parties or clothes that we are currently buying them will lead to the success of their lives as an education will. Even though abuse does also exist in the educated, it is considerably less, and nothing empowers our children like an education does.

Whatever lays ahead for abuse I feel it needs to be dealt with,as it lies at the root cause of what Americans should be most ashamed of, as well as, is twin to crime, in America today. To just wash our hands and give up or worse yet to blame the victims and do nothing, when we are so much better as a Nation than that,shows poorly against us all.At the same time I applaud all of you who have dedicated their years and time working towards finding solutions only to find out that the root problem towards solutions does lie in the victims themselves, who have been so deeply brainwashed in fear or have learned to adapt to it,to the point they do refuse help offered to them,too many times.Somewhere there is a bridge that will join the gap that does lead to successful treatment and my faith is in the fact that we will find it. Uncurable Unemployment

For those who have not discovered it yet, drug usage and sales, are no longer just in the poverty sections of Cities and communities. It is in the middle and upper classes of America,as well. Once unheard of, in rural areas, it is now escalating everywhere. When he have drug users being supported by families, while they draw unemployment, then we can add them to the list of uncurable unemployment.

As larger numbers drop out of Society or schools, to join white Supremists and Patriot groups,while drawing unemployment, and more kids are told the uselessness of education, by these same groups, then we can add a higher drop out rate in education, while drawing unemployment into the adult years. As children are given more, while doing less to earn it, we add an increase amount of laziness to the lists of adults who would rather draw unemployment over working. All of these adults become uncurable unemployment records.

When we refuse to see 18 year olds as the adults that they are and expect them to leave home to either get an education or to hold down a job, while paying their own expenses, we create more people who will be drawing unemployment. When we have adults who refuse to take on jobs that they feel that are beneath them, we have another market for incurable unemployment.

When we have people refusing to leave what they know as home to go elsewhere to get jobs, that are not being filled, then we have immature adults who would rather draw unemployment over working. If unemployment was truly based on the amount of time worked as versus the about of time un-employed we would find more people taking the jobs that they currently feel over-qualified for, in my estimation.

The other thing, that all of us must keep in mind is that Corporate Amercia is not going to hire as long as they have oversight committees over them, if all they need to do is wait until the Republican Party comes back into office and withdraws all of the restrictions. They can produce product, at less cost, over seas, just as easilly. It is in their best interests to keep employment down and umemployment up, in order to persuade ,we, the American public, to vote the Republicans back in, so they can elimininate the Unions and go unchecked without restrictions, on their gaining profits again.

Unfortunately this is what created the mess that the Republican majority got us into.We already know that when restrictions are lifted on banks,oil companies, and Corporate the greed takes over at an expense to the middle class, as that was well proven when the restrictions were lifted. Please remember, though, that as the private sector made more money the working sector were laid off at even a greater rate, when restrictions were lifted.It was the over-seas market, who gained in employment. Lifting restrictions, only means gains to oil companies, Corporate and Banks, and more often than not a higher cost to the workers.

As long as they continue stock piling money while the banks continue refusing to lend money, then all they need to do is wait for another Republican majority, while draining the Government Treasury, by keeping taxes down.Once Uncle Sam no longer has funds to pay it’s debts then private business will own government and in doing so eliminate all restrictions that allows greed to run rapid, and we will truly see inflation like we have never seen, before, with the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.

The goal of the new Republicans and Tea Party candidates as well as “those for a more Prosperous America” who are running to be president in 2012, will be to convince us that our taxes are too high, although it is a complete lie since our Federal taxes, are as low as they have been since the 1950′s. Many of your States have been poorly ran and that combined with oil,cigarette,and City taxes along with the increase in food costs, may be taking a drain on your checks but Federal taxes remain too low, to reimburse the Treasury for rises in future costs.

Sadly, what we have going on in America, today, is uncurable unemployment with those who do want to work and are willing to make the sacrifices, that our fore-fathers made by moving across America to do so, paying the price. Reality is that government cannot force companies to hire or people to work, and as a result, we will maintain high unemployment until we do have a robust economy with people wanting to go back to work,again.

The argument has always existed that Capitalism is greed and unless we take off government restrictions then we choke free enterprise. Capitalism does need to be able to flourish but not at the expense of the American people who are made more desitute as a result of it. Without government then private business has no restrictions preventing it from literally bankrupting America.Too many have already attempted to do just that, and in the process both we as well as our children, and grandchildren are or will pay the price to make a handfull of people wealthier.

It has been my experience that those who do want to work will work even if it is in volunteer until they do make the right contact that will employ them, even if it means moving across Country or in some cases, out of Country. No one can keep a person of ambition down, not even Corporate or Politicians.”We the People” need to insist that the Republicans go back to work for we,who elect them,so that banks can start making rational loans and both the oil companies and Corporate quit gouging the American worker, by pressuring or paying,the Tea Party or the Republicans to work against us. We all need to go back to work by re-electing Barack OBama. We need to tell the “say No and argue” Republicans and
Tea Party Candidates, that they will not be elected unless they learn the art of compromise that benefits, “We the People”!

The Movement Against Policemen and Women

It certainly must occur to many who surf the net or use it to socialize or blog that the next great movement against government by so called, “grassroots types” is to attack the policemen of America. There are innuendoes non too slight occurring all over the net. There is a deliberate attempt underway to sensationalize, undo police force, on the web today, and the only conclusion anyone with any common sense, could conclude, is there are people out to destroy the public image of the police by sensationalizing it as the tabloids do.

The latest to destroy their image is, the story of the policeman that fed the child he felt was hungry. The first was the lemonade stand in Portland. This type of sensationalizing of police force or control, in other words nonsense, will only transplant the idea of a police state in the minds of the radicals, that believe conspiracy is around every corner. Sadly, it will work with too many. As we honor all the heroes of the war today, we should also not forget the heroes involved in the gang and drug wars on our streets that are going on or have been areas of concern in places like San Francisco, Chicago and Miami to name a few, on a daily basis, either. The police men and women of America have every right to be both honored and respected by all of us.

If there is any truth to any of the stories to begin with, all I can say is “Thank God we had a policeman that was concerned enough to think the little child might be neglected and came to their aid with food. The line of decency needs to be drawn by, we clear thinking, Americans. If all Americans did treat their children as children deserve to be treated the police would not have to be concern about children that go hungry, are sold into sex slavery(the latest count stands as high as 300,000), run the streets and join gangs where the only thing that stops murder in some of our poorer neighborhoods, is, if you belong to their gang. The atrocities happening to our children are many, and sadly, many times the number one culprits of neglect are the parents. Both Police men and women are already understaffed in many parts of our Country, and we have some of the finest of American citizens protecting us all, and keeping us safe in our homes, they need to be praised and not disrespected, nor attempts made, to disgrace them, as is currently under way.

It was the right-wing, in its influence in the 20th Century, who started accusing educated Americans as well as College professors as being commies, reds,pinks, and anything nasty they could use or think of, liberal became the new buzz words. When the professors of our Universities were the first to say that Capitalism was less than perfect and failed some Americans the word liberal and leftist became the nemesis and hate word of the right-wing.

The hate built by the right-wing in America, reached its pinnacle in the 1930′s, and went on to what was known as the McCarthyism era, where every man or every woman behind every wall or tree was a communist pink or spy. Not too unlike the Jesse Ventura show on Tru t.v. is trying to make all the fanatics in America believe conspiracy everywhere, today, in my opinion.

Although there was a movement underway of some Hollywood type executives flirting with the idea of communism, it got totally out of control as a result of the paranoia of McCarthy, Many innocent men and women had their lives as well as lively hood destroyed as a result of the furor that existed in the day. If you listen to the right wing of the era,the liberals or leftist, found their birth place in the State ran universities of America. It would appear the right-wing are now trying to attempt to move toward the diatribe of America being a police state, by trying to sensationalize these stories. That is how all these lies get started. First of all they have to split and divide us, as a Nation, before they can find a stand hold to operate from. I would say they have done a good job of doing just that, at this point.

We can all agree that there are extremists on the far left every bit as destructive to Democracy as the right-wing but to categorize every ,Democrat or American, who care more about the needs of the working class and their continuation of the middle class as communist or socialists, is bizarre. By sensationalizing the efforts of the police, they can then move on to attack the Unions that protect the wages and benefits of both the police and firemen of America. As we have already seen by their advertizing and opt out plea,they won’t stop until they try to eliminate or break the backs of all Unions who were established to protect the wages and benefits of the working class. It is possible for capitalism to co-exist with the working class, American. Capitalism will never fail as a result of paying a fair wage to the people they employ.To heft every lie and fault on the shoulders of education as well as the working people in favor of maintaining Capitalism so the rich get richer is to deny the platform of Democracy.

Yes, there are bad policemen amongst the group of our American heroes who risk their lives on a daily basis, but it is one organization that does work, when it comes to policing itself. They are not always quick enough, sometimes to recognize the losers amongst them, but unlike other powerful lobbyist, they do not protect their fellow police, at all cost to the citizenry of our Country, as a rule either.

So as we pause today, lets give thanks not only to all the heroes of America that have fought in battles and wars, both foreign and on our land, but also those proud men and women, that wear the blue 24 hours around the clock, to keep both us and Democracy safe. It will take those of us with common sense and decency to stand up to the new onslaught of lies heading our way. We owe it to the heroes that fight for us all around the world as well as in our own home town and city, of America. It is the least that we can do. Thanks to all of you who have ever worn a uniform. We are proud and grateful of your courage to protect all we hold dear. A simple thanks rings empty in comparison to your great sacrifice to “we the people”. Those of us that appreciate You offer it anyway.

Its Your House And Health

With all the outrage towards government and banks in America still running rampant, the consumer has lost sight of the fact that taxes are at an all time low. I will repeat it, until you hear me. Taxes are the lowest they have been since the 1950′s and interest rates have never been lower. When most of you were babies or not yet born, the interests rates soared to 18% and went as high as 22%.(on people’s house payments,not their credit cards) If you are bitching now what will you do when both taxes and interest rates start climbing again? It is true that deregulation of the banks and Wall Street led to the fiscal mess we are in but the banks were bailed out before OBama reached office and he had no choice but to sign the same when he took office. I actually agreed with that move,as if the banks are not able to function,neither is our economy. We were not in the position to slap their hands, regardless of how they got there, and say “bad boy,no more”!

The reason we no longer have the money that we once had on a more personal,at home reality, is not because of the present day government and Wall Street, but because we paid too much for our homes, in some cases,and in others could not wait to wash out the equity in our homes. The other major debt that keeps us feeling poor is our healthcare and property tax liabilities. When hospitals, across the land, went from County and State owned to privately owned we started seeing a huge amount of increases in our medical cost and insurance premiums. Many policies that we pay into are almost worthless even though they cost us, but we reason we have to have something. Even though OBama care is not what we wanted it does have some insurance reform as well as pre-existing disease clauses in it, that we would have to be stupid to repeal.

It should have been obvious to many, that parts of our Country such as Vegas, Arizona, and Florida were over-building and when the bubble burst anyone living in the area would have to pay for it with their property tax increase, but sadly the greed in all of us hoped it would go on forever. You are now watching your home prices slide on a monthly basis and are mad as hell blaming the wrong people. It should have been your State governments that recognized the crises they were headed towards but even if they had of, it is doubtful they could have done much about it. We are built on free enterprise, therfore capitalism, and government cannot stop or deny either, especially when all controls have been removed.

Obviously, if the mess we are in, was this simple of an explanation, then it would be easier to fix, but it gets so complicated that many people in charge of our economy are in a quandary as to which direction needs to be taken and are now struggling to find the answers. This is totally new territory and they will make mistakes until they do hit on the right solution, as to where we can get the funds to recover, when there are none to begin with.

Because both we the consumer as well as the government were in a frenzy spending money we did not have, we put it all on credit, we now must pay the price, whether we saved or spent. In many cases it is those of you that helped create this mess yelling louder than those of us that did save. Although we are now paying back on a personal level, until the job market returns, government has to keep the taxes and interests rate low, so I assure you, none of us are yet paying for either. When they do start paying off the debt it will lead to either increased taxes or more job lost.

All those second homes we had to have, that also, are not worth what we paid for, all that credit card debt, all the bigger closets we had to build to house, our out of control shoe shopping, all the meals we ate out, all the money spent on entertainment,suvs,boats and nicer more expensive cars and toys, all those stainless steel appliances we had to have even when it meant we threw out good appliances, all those granite counter tops we had to have to keep up with our friends, daycares tripled in some parts of the country especially when children were placed into the private schools, etc. we are now paying for and have no one to blame but ourself. At the same time we were spending in some cases $600 to $1000 dollars a square foot, to have that must have home or condo, people were buying the places we should have bought, and flipping them for a huge profit. We could have done the same with our own home but we were not willing to put in our own sweat equity. We had to have the perfect paint colors,with counters and appliances or we would walk away from it.

In many cases we did buy our home at a right price but every time the equity increased or the value of our home escalated to an artificial value that it was unable to sustain, we could not wait to take out a home equity loan, home improvement loan, or by whatever name it was called, we bankrupted our own home by taking out what actually are second and third mortgages so we could live better than what we made. None of us want to admit that we knew we were living a lifestyle we could not afford and did not want to do anything, but stay in denial, while we took that nice family trip we took on credit or bought more clothes or shoes. None of us fooled anyone, not even ourselves.

While a great deal of this was going on, there were others that saved 15 to 20 percent of each paycheck for a rainy day. We initially lost a great deal in our 401 k but in most cases we are back to where we were ,or not far from it. We like you, are afraid we will lose our jobs or in some cases, where we already have, we have been able to ride it through, due to those savings. Some of us even put off buying a home until we had a large down payment and are now buying those homes that others can not now afford, because they financed both the house as well as the down payment.

Long story short, this is not about pointing out our faults or mistakes but instead reminding us that many of us have no right to be so hateful towards those that we are blaming unfairly. It is time to stop the hate and the finger-pointing that is making all of our lives more miserable.What is important is that we have learned from our mistakes and know almost every generation before us/you have made the same mistake and came back and retired millionaires, anyway. It is not over, “until the fat lady sings” and she is not even doing her warm up exercises yet. I know her personally.

Two things in life that are always important to know and understand regardless of the situation are: Never lose sight of your own ability to come back and if we send out the karma of blame, we will make achieving our own goals that we were on our way towards achieving, that much more difficult to gain. Success of any kind takes ownership of the problem. It is time to stop the hate and whining and to get imaginative in our own lives. If we start working together maybe the politicians will as well. We can always hope for the best and many times be rewarded with the same.

Living In OUR Safe Homogenized World

The problem that exists, as I see it, when it comes to subjects that are considered taboo like sex education and abortion, is, it becomes very easy to become smug and arrogant in our little Christian world. Ask Doctors, Cops,Those living in poverty, and District Attorneys, just what the human race is capable of doing to each other, and most of us would faint away in the telling of the cruelty. That is why we need laws that are not always definable in black and white.

Pathetically, much of this behavior has been going on for a 100 years and we are no better off today when it comes to finding prevention than we were then. What gains that we made in equal rights and civil rights is being undermined by denying rights to gays. The argument goes that since Christ was not involved in social problems then neither should the churches be, at the same time they try to prevent both women and gays their State and Federal rights.

It is rare to find either male or female prostitutes, in any city in America, that were not first a victim of incest, but if we do not know it, then it is easy to believe only 1% of the abortions are as a result of incest, or that there are only a hand full of victims,even when there is no basis for truth on that estimate. People do not report abuse when done by a family member, many times, so it is impossible to get any conclusive percentage of incest. We want to believe that the Catholic priests that molested these young boys did it in secrecy, one victim at a time, until we watch Oprah and hear the twins discuss the gang rape and torture that involved 33 Catholic priest, together at the same time, and happened years ago. The details are just now seeing the light of day. We may have acknowledgement and apology but pay off in cash, is not justice, for a crime of pedophilia.

Certainly they are lying about Bishop Long, we say, because we like him so. The worse our children ever face, most certainly we tell ourselves, has to be drugs that we prefer to ignore, and starvation and even that is rare because of free school lunches and Church ran free meals for the homeless, we like to believe. Certainly we the taxpayers, who are paying less in taxes than anyone since the 1950′s, are entitled to a break from all our struggles, we are convinced of, in our own self-congratulatory manner, because we are generously giving out free school lunches. Never mind we are closer everyday to needing them,ourselves, not because our taxes have increased due to government spending(YET) but because of our own spending habits. It is always easier to blame the liberals, who new key hate word is progressive, for the mess we are in. God forbid if we were able to take blame, ourselves.

We, simply, do not want to believe that parents can do to their children what they do and have done for decades, so we pat ourselves on the back, while we plant the white crosses in the fields and believe it, when we are told that most abortions occur because women want to look good in their bikinis. It is easier to feel Christian, when we believe that these terrible things never happened and it is all lies. Parents would never prostitute out their own children or give babies drugs, so they sleep around the clock, or put Coke in their baby bottles because it cost less than milk. Would they?

We do need to think about the denial, that we Christians, are in and why we do not listen to our Religious leaders when it comes to beating up on our mates, fraud, cheating on our taxes, failing to pay our bills, secret liaisons, adultery, birth control,greed or all the other things we do and feel justified in doing without our Religious leaders knowing. Why is it then that we all vote like a herd of sheep in order to prevent women freedom of choice granted to us by the Constitution and the equal rights amendment as well as law? Isn’t that social interference? How we vote is one thing that our Church Leaders cannot influence or tell us what to do, without breaking the law of Man or God or our Constitution.

Those of us that no longer attend Churches are not atheist, nor are we out to close the doors on religion, as you are being told. We just simply refuse to break any law whether it is Man’s law or God’s law, because we have developed our own responsiblity and conscious to do the right thing, in many cases. It is difficult for many of us to accept Church law as being God’s law due to the behavior of the Church leadership in most cases. Many of us still hold a deep and abiding faith in both God and Jesus and would like to see religion get out of politics as it is stated in the Constitution and in the separation of Church and State law.

No one person or group or organization should ever be given the power to be above the law of the Land, in my opinion as well as many other voters, even though the Churches have chosen to break the law by doing so. The agreement made in the 1940′s was to give all religion tax-free privileges and they would remain separate from state and not influence the vote. There is some conversation going on to take away their tax-free privileges since they have broken the law.

It always has been in the hands of “we the people” as to if they should or should not receive the same. Many Christians see the hypocrisy that apparently others don’t see, because of denial. It becomes impossible to put much stock in a Spiritual advisor that preaches,”do as we say not as we do.” Many of us grew up, a half of century or so ago, with that in our homes and saw the injustices in the thinking then as well.

It is no wonder, then, there is so much hate going on as a result of the self-righteous spreading the hate and lies. After all, if I was blind to what was going on, right under my own nose, I might too, be confused and angry. Whatever the decisions are, that are being made in Washington, we cannot elect politicians that can clean up a mess like the one we are in, without expecting some mistakes being made along the way in their efforts. This is and has been brand new ground that needs to be broken through trial and error. We admit that there have been some mistakes made, but not as nearly colossal, as the years prior to these last two years, but not because OBama is out to create Socialism as you claim.

We are taking things out on OBama, that should have been taken out on Bush and Cheney and those of us who voted for them,(However,even that would be somewhat immature and a waste in futility, as we should have known that they were a few short of a six-pack when we voted for them) but we do owe the Office of the Presidency and the man in it better than what we have given OBama. Anyone doing the job that he has had to do with a say “No” Republican party holding him back on every attempt, was and is going to make mistakes.

I would hope the new Congress coming in would try a little honey instead of announcing their main goal is to get OBama out of office. We are all going through withdrawals while waiting for co-operation amongst the elected officials and perhaps that is partially responsible for both “the dry drunk behavior” and the meanness that is going wild. Can’t we all agree a little honey might be the better of two evils? It still has to get past the Senate and the Dem.s are still in control of that,as well. After all, respect and courtesy, use to be the Christian way. Can’t we give it a try and all just try to get along, and see if together we can correct some problems without being afraid of who will get the credit or blame in 2012?

When Truth Speaks Over Lies.

When truth speaks over lies, we find out in a hurry, many times, that our thinking also changes. We find out that government can do very little about job hiring. To cut the budget means that people will lose more jobs. Will it be in Social Security or Medicare when both are already heavily in debt? Will it be in defense, at the time we are at war, and our troops are depending on the necessary equipment to keep them safer? Or will it be in our police and fire departments? Is the real truth that they really do not care so much about slicing the budget but instead are out to destroy the unions of the working class? Perhaps to eliminate government altogether?What about an education system that has been heavily damaged and is struggling to come back? These are the things that the Republicans did not talk about when they pledged to cut the budget.

We find out that the gay community is much larger than what most of us realize and medical truth does show that gays are born gay. Will the gay person you are slandering grow up to be your son or daughter or your grandchild? Will you want them to be true to the nature that they were born with? Do you want them to find happiness, and someone who loves them, as you do?

Will you or your loved ones, be a sign carrying hate monger disturbing the funerals of the brave soldier being buried or show up at a Courthouse in Laramie ,Wyoming, the next time a young gay person is beaten to near death and left tied to the snow rails so that the elements finish him off? Will you or they, scream, to his or her parents, “that they will burn in hell” because you or they are there with your Church group and have their Blessings, as well? Are you and your attitudes any different from these people who will or do behave in this manner, even if you or your loved ones do not show up?Will we American Citizens let his memory die in vain?

What about the truth on abortion facts? You have been told that incest only makes up 1% of the total abortions and you find out that there is no way anyone can possibly know the percentages of incest abortion. Even if it was only 10 little girls, who were your daughters or sisters, wouldn’t that be ten too many? Do you know why those percentages are not true and cannot be true? Number one:no one at the abortion clinics are allowed to ask how the 10-year-old child got pregnant, ever. Number two: because of family shame, 9 out of 10 of the children seeking abortions for incest will be instructed to keep their mouths shut and pretend they had a boyfriend. Spare the family, shame at all cost, still is a priority in many homes across America, over telling the truth. Also it is common that abused children want their parents’ love so badly, that they will not tell their mother’s the truth. Other times the boy friends,fathers,step fathers, and grandfathers threaten to hurt their family, so they do not tell.

Many of the bastards that do impregnate their girl friend’s daughters or step daughters or grand daughters will call them whores knowing full well they were virgins and accuse them of having boyfriends. Often their mothers will call their daughter liars and believe their boy friends, husbands and fathers over their child. If it is your daughter or grand-daughter, that has been raped or has a lung disease so severe that it will kill her for certain, and she is still in her teens or twenties and has not yet had a chance to live, herself, will you tell the Doctors to let your daughter/grand-daughter, die for the future of the embryo? It has better odds of not surviving either, due to the complications of the disease,as well.

I can go on about so much of what we see as black and white when we are so certain that we have a duty to judge, but it is always amazing, how different our minds change when we are caught in the actual experience of living the truth. Another instance is when it is our child on death row, our darling little wheel chair and oxygen dependent girl or our sweet girl with the brain capacity of a two year old, is raped and pregnant, our child needing surgery and we do not have the insurance or means to pay for it, our parents wanting to live out old age in their homes that they worked for all their lives, or the neighbor’s house catches fire and is threatening to burn down ours as well, but there were no funds to pay for a fire dept. in our district, so we will watch our house burn as well.

Before any of us so willingly give up our right to think for ourselves, and instead vote, because we are being frightened by the salvation of our souls, we need to stop and ask ourselves just how much, are we being told is the truth and how much are lies. Many times when things are totally black and white with no middle ground it is not as simple as sin or grace or hell or heaven. A great deal of the time it is agenda over truth. Almost always the laws made are made to spare real live people, whose lives or happiness are hanging on the empathy and compassion of ourselves. More times than not, they are going through the worse battle of their lives. Do we change everything that is good and descent about us as a Democracy and as a human being, because some bullies or selfish individuals take advantage of the law, always?

It does us all well to remember that no one is infallible and certainly things or situations, and truth especially, are rarely black and white. When we start thinking everything that happens in life is, many times, we live the experience ourselves. We have a moral obligation to understand the hardships we add to people, who truly are faced with the worse decisions of their life, is the measure of the person that we are or will become. What makes Democracy work and better, is both our empathy as well as compassion, for the people who do walk in these shoes on the average of once an hour,a day, once a week, or once in a lifetime.

What will we do, when we or our loved ones, are called on to be one of them? I assure all of us, until then and only then, when we are getting comfortable with those shoes, will we know or understand, the value of truth over lies, and the role we must play, in order to find joy in our own life. I’m not speaking of emotions folks. I am speaking of what separates us from the animals and predators who shun those different from themselves and devour their young, aged, and sick. Humanity and Democracy depends on both empathy and compassion for the truth, for its own survival.

Never again, should we, the American voter, tolerate the behavior and the lies that took place on both sides, in this past election and continues to be deliberately spread by the likes of Sarah Palin, Rich Limbaugh on all of his radio broadcasts, and Michelle Bachmann, just to name a few. We need to let them all know that we will no longer stand for it and it is time they do all of us a favor and leave their hate at home. It’s simple enough to do, as they are all attention hounds, and all we have to do is pull the plug or hit the off button.

When Religion Controls Elections

We have all lived and felt what happens when we take the checks and balances off of any sector of Democracy. We end up with the tragedies, we now have. A Baptist Church on the hate crime list. Sarah Palin claiming the picture of, Our President of the United States, dressed in Taliban clothing on her favorites list on her Tweeter page was an accident and saying “Oops it was a mistake”. Rush Limbaugh and Michelle Bachmann claiming that OBama is spending 20 million dollars a day, when in truth, he is going to visit India to drum up trade for the aero-industry for jobs here in America. It is nothing more than spread of both hate and lies. If that wasn’t bad enough they even claim 34 warships,approximately 20% of our Navy,at a cost of 2 Billion dollars, will be on alert to protect him. No one is left to stop the lies and hate that go unchecked when Religion goes unchecked and controls power.

Greed in both the politician and Wall Street runs rampant when we take the checks and balances off both Corporate and Capitalism and we end up with not only hate and lies being condoned and in some cases paid for. Win at all cost to the spirit of Democracy, becomes the battle cry. The Churches are and can claim they are under-attack by the liberals or everyone that is not with them, are the result of the spread of Atheism. God for bid, if those Christians amongst us, should stand up against the spread of hate and lies and the organizations or groups responsible for the same, in an effort to bring back equality and respect to the name of Religion. We have the worse of humanity controlling American Democracy, when Religion gains power, and uses it against whole sectors of people.

If the Churches,namely the Catholic priest had been sent to prison, where all pedophiles belong, we would have put some form of check and balances on the Church. Instead we Americans simply chose to ignore it, at an expense to 1000 plus fellow citizens whose lives have been destroyed. Will the same happen to Reverend Long or will we just insist he is innocent as well and pay off the young boys or call them liars as well, because the rapists are Church leaders and are considered God’s Representatives, and as such can do no wrong? I assure all of us that greed,lies, and rape of the innocent, by the very people and institutions that should be protecting and protesting the loudest, is not the work of God.

Instead we allow it all to go unchecked and send the message,ourselves, that Religion is above the law. Religion Doctrine has not been able to work with Religion, much less will it protect Democracy. The different beliefs and Doctrines, as well as the struggle for supremacy in the Churches, has always divided the Religious Community with hate. It is doing the same with our politics and therefore our Democracy. What the heroes amongst us have shed blood for, has not been or will ever be, for the privilege of the powerful to threaten,hurt,bully,intimidate and use fear tactics on the truth and innocent while protecting the hate and lies that it refuses to stop from spreading,while denying or paying off the victims with cash instead of justice.

Religion is and has been at the center of the battles in the Middle East since 76AD. It is and has always been the job of Religion to serve mankind just as it is the job of government to do the same. Instead mankind serves both when Religion controls elections. We need to remind both who is in charge. Sadly Tuesday’s election was just more of the same old crap, “Of lie to them.Tell them we will cut the budget but don’t answer how or where when asked.” Neither Religion or Government are doing their jobs, nor are we.
