It Matters Not–It Matters A lot!

It matters not whether we wish our fellow mankind Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas as a friendly greeting ,of any kind, is almost always warmly accepted when we are in the spirit of giving or receiving. To make or take issue with such a small matter when 50 million children, are reported,to go to bed hungry shows how petty some people have become or more about what is missing in their spirit, in my opinion.

As 2010 comes to an end, I would like to reach out and thank all of you who have taken out a moment of your time to read my blog and to comment as well. Whether you agreed with me or not,it matters a lot the large majority of you, showed real class in what the majority of we Americans represent, and that is respect of our fellow mankind to express themselves, in a free Democracy.

I began my blog on New Years’ eve 2010, and have enjoyed writing my posts. I can’t imagine what I left unsaid, and I know in areas where I am more passionate, I did repeat myself a number of times, my sentence structure and spelling left a lot to be desired at times, and you all were kind enough not to point that out. I thank you,for that, as well, as it was appreciated by me.

What has always and still does matter a lot, to me, at this time, is if 50 million children are going to bed hungry in the United States of America each night and one child is dying every 5 minutes, as a result of starvation related diseases in America, is true or a guise to contribute to not such reputable agencies? These are the figures being reported on radio, in America. I would hope someone with influence and the ability to check such figures would look into this matter.

It makes absolutely no sense to me at all, when the government gives away so much food in its surplus programs of commodities such as peanut butter and cheese, Americans contribute millions if not trillions of dollars as well as food products, through their private donations to food pantries, taxes,Churches,businesses,private organizations from Feed the children to the Red Cross to the Salvation Army (to name a very few) Corporations, and Banks that this food and the money to buy the same ,along with a great deal of food that is available free, is not reaching the hungry in America.

We are no longer living in the dark ages where hungry children could not be reached due to transportation difficulties. Every place where mail and technology can reach in America, so should food to the hungry be shipped or made feasible. So I ask again, if 50 million children are going to bed hungry and 1 child is dying every 5 minutes, why? When the buildings,sometimes utilities,upkeep,volunteer labor etc. is all offered free through volunteer efforts, where does the millions to trillions of dollars and pounds of food, donated, go and why isn’t it reaching the hungry in America?

Some children will always slip through, due to human error ratio, but we are not a third world country and to accept 50 million hungry children as well as so many children dying each day, as a norm, in a developed country such as our own should, I would think, alarm us all. If we can see every nook and cranny in America through satellite shouldn’t we also be able to make certain no child ever goes hungry in America? It is not a lack of generosity on the part of the American people or government to give, as we are the most altruistic Nation in the world. We are also the largest producer of food produce in the world. I understand a great deal of our altruism is spread around the world but shouldn’t we feed our own,first? Perhaps someone as concern as myself, with much more influence than I, can check this out in 2011 and report back to the Nation?

Since this will be the last of my posts for 2010, I again, offer my thanks to you all for taking out a little of your time to either read,curse, or hopefully perhaps, without seeming too indulgent of my own ego, to find someone who just might have understood what you were feeling. I wish each and every one of us a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! When we are generous and kind in our thoughts,speech and actions to one another, it changes negative attitudes that predispose some towards entitlement and greed,stops gossip and lies,and brings refreshment to our souls. It matters a lot!

Are We Americans All Insane!

Or is it the media that leads the insanity? At a time when the economists all agree the only thing that will bring back jobs is confidence of Corporate America in a turn around of the economy the media is busy talking about OBama in his fancy pants at the gulf. All of the cable news and networks main line of attack is how OBama does not show emotions enough. Would we really feel better seeing the man who leads the Free World looking like a bum and shedding tears?

Hasn’t the media spilled their guts for years about candidates as well as elected officials looking weak and unprofessional when they did shed a tear? Or have they all forgotten about the media circus around Walter Mondale, that they created? Have they all gone nuts! Are we just as bad? The latest polls show that 57% of the Country thinks that OBama is not doing enough about the oil crises in the gulf.

I do apologize to the 37% that does seem to understand that government has nothing to do with British Petroleum’s obvious neglect of the problem that arose and their callous disregard for safety of the people over their profit margin, and still have their sanity about them yet. I do not include you in this post. Why is it so much easier for the rest of you to always blame government and give Corporate a free ride even when they prove they do not care about “we the People” but only the bottom line of profits, time and time again? Corporate pays their political cronies in both special favors and donations and have hired people,lobbyists and media to lie for years and yet you believe them over government.

The facts are the Federal government cannot do anything more than what it has done because at this point British Petroleum cannot do more than what it is already doing to stop the flow of oil. All the best scientists have been asked for their help despite the media giving the politicians or other interests their 2 minute bite to state otherwise.

When it comes to making payments to the businesses BP will move sadly at their own speed. Obama has placed pressure on them to do more than they currently are doing. I’m certainly not defending BP but we can all bet they are getting false claims at least at the same rate they are getting legitimate claims because unfortunately tragedy draws these kinds of derelicts.

This is untested territory in that this is the worse disaster in the history of oil companies. No one in truth, knows what they are doing. B.P. has never been in the market to lose money. That is a fact that we can all count on. The longer this disaster goes on the more money British Petroleum will lose. Unless mankind learns the unknown through trial and error, many times, they do not have the answers. Life does not get solved in real life like it does on television. The last thing BP wants is for this disaster to continue. That is the greatest fact of all.

Six months after OBama got into office we had the nut cases running loose in America screaming that OBama hadn’t done enough to turn around the economy or to save jobs. We have the Tea Party screaming conspiracy with the government in every facet of our lives and others bound and determined to get rid of Social Security. Never mind that before the Bush administration drained the Social Security funds it was the only government program that was working.

Somehow despite all this media lead insanity foreclosures dropped 3% this month and unemployment has dropped to the level it was at in 2008 before OBama took office. I have spoken a lot of the need to show emotions on the family level but I assure you with the mess that Obama was left with if he did show emotions the press and the Republicans would be all over it. From day one they have wanted evidence to use against him that he was not yet experienced enough to be president. I haven’t a doubt, and neither should you, of what a Circus both would make if he looked or acted anything less than Presidential.

If OBama had gone in and demanded a show of regulations and standards having been met in the oil industry prior to the disaster the Republicans would have been all over that screaming how the government under OBama’s care was nothing more than a regulatory company whose only goal was to straggle free enterprise or something as equally prophetic.

What created the economical disaster that we are in seperate from the gulf crisis was that government took off all regulations that allowed the greedy to go wild. I assure you that any attempt made to put the regulations in place will only set off the Republicans as well as the nuts that scream conspiracy.

Now we have the media and the nut cases running around saying that OBama doesn’t emote enough or dresses too well or doesn’t care about us. He only cares about health care. Gee I wonder who he has had to fight tooth and nail to get this watered down package for if not for the people inspite of the nuts being the ones that have been heard.

At this point the non-vote of the Republicans clearly shows that they are against any regulation of the insurance companies because at present the healthcare that could get passed was more insurance reform than healthcare reform and even that has been vetoed by the Republicans.

First we scream that government is too much in our lives and then we scream that government doesn’t care and is not doing enough in our lives. I for one am grateful that we have a president through all the messes that he is up against has shown all of us how to keep our heads down and to keep cool when under attack. It is way pass time that we let him do his job and the media report what really matters. For instance how their pettiness caused OBama to cancel a trip to Asia and thereby upsetting the Asian Nations at a time that we need all the friends that we can get.

A Black Eye On Italian Justice!

I typically do not comment on many of the books that I read but never have I seen such miscarriage of Justice as what happened in Perugia, Italy last year. I fully recommend that all people who are interested in the pursuit of Justice pick up the book written by Candace Dempsey(Italian/American writer) called “Murder in Italy” and read for yourself the injustice that has taken place there.

If any of us have ever had any doubts of what malicious gossip and lies prosecuted out of a pornographic fantasy of a zealot can do to justice, it is all spelled out in this case. The lies from the tabloid newsprint, that the Judge allowed in, were as equally distressing.

Clearly the prosecution and judge and jury had all the proof they ever needed to find one person and one person only guilty of killing Meredith Kercher of Britain and instead they went after two very innocent young people who are now doing double the prison time that the real killer is doing. We should all also hold the Italian and British press equally as guilty for helping cause such a miscarriage of Justice.

I understand that we have our own shameful trial in the O.j. Simpson trial amongst many other trials where the wealthy get an “out of jail” free card but isn’t it better to error on the side of freedom, than to knowingly put two innocent people behind bars for 25 and 26 years? Both the prosecutor and some jury members slept (literally fell asleep) during the trial. The Prosecutor would be found guilty later of miss use of his office and had been arrested for the same, prior to the conviction of these two young people. It was not connected to this case.

As upset as I am to know that Italian Raeffaele Sollecito and American Seattleite Amanda Knox have been put in jail over a story strictly made up with no proof or evidence to back it by a Prosecutor of the Church persuasion that believes in Satan possessions, you should be equally upset. If this horrid miscarriage of justice is not corrected by the public all over the world now, we then can expect this same miscarriage of justice to visit our own Countries in the near future.

In my opinion, American Courts are finding people more and more guilty in the courts ran by Conservative appointed judges, on nothing more than circumstantial evidence. Some Defense attorneys in States where they can make a choice, will ask a jury instead of a judge, to find the punishment, for a gay person that is found guilty. Why? Because they feel that the jury will mete out a more fair punishment for a gay person than a conservatively appointed judge will. It is not at all, that broad of a leap to think that we can go from there to speculation, gossip, lies, and yellow journalism convicting someone on our own shores.

I am glad to see that Washington State officials, NBC,CNN and Hillary Clinton along with the Free World are aware of this case and actively following it. They can use all the e-mails and letters of support, that we can send, in order to show our support to free these two innocent college kids.

Getting Involved Does Not Mean Judgement

I’ve pointed out the short comings in my blogs about the Churches and mankind in general. Sometimes in an effort to prevent abuse, hate crimes, and abortion ,both Churches and mankind in general can actually send off the worse of the fanatics that live in a delusional angry world. People that are operating in denial or dealing with loss of emotional or mental strengths can take the preaching of the Churches against both abortions and gays and use it to justify the hate crimes that lead to the loss of life. I’m sure most Churches,are aware of this, they certainly have been in the past.

To simply reach out and offer forgiveness to the individual in their aftercare programs strikes me as being very hypocritical when taking the responsibility for causing the action against the victims appear to be missing in the first place. Women, not their neighbors or their Churches must make the decision of abortion with their Doctors. That was decided with Roe Vs. Wade and accepted by the majority. That is what Democracy is all about. The majority view is held! To suggests that they are not victims when clinics blow up, or holier-than-thou, arrogant people outside, pray, is ludicrous. I feel a better approach would be simply to offer a program, acknowledge that it exists, and then after the Churches ask for forgiveness, that they offer counseling on an individual basis.

It would go a lot further towards calling off the fanatics that kill. At some point the Churches need to take responsibility against the silence that we now hear, that starts the hate crimes in the first place. Why are they not putting pressure on their own congregations as to the depth of the harm that these groups do and recognizing that they themselves are, instead, starting new groups of hate?

It’s when Churches start preaching the hell and damnation, planting of the crosses in the pastures, to excite negative emotions, and praying outside of the abortion clinics, that they run the risks, of the hate groups amongst us, leading to more hardship in Society. These along with the many highway signs that the Churches promote are deliberately setting up negative emotions in a society, that quickly have no answers, towards how to treat these out of control fanatics or terrorist groups.

It is the fanatical believers in Religions that are responsible for the terrorists in the Middle East, that we now are proving are unmanageble and out of control. Many of those terrorist groups, based on hate, started out in as a small of a group of 20 or less, as well.

The Churches that teach their congregations that it is their duty to be activists or quoting the bible on Sunday against gays, pressuring govenment officials to vote and pass laws against gay rights and refusing healthcare because they might be providing it to a gay couples, clearly cannot deny that they promote hate crimes if anyone looks at it rationally.

I have spoken a great deal about neighbor helping neighbor and that it is a role of all of us as individuals. Sometimes it means recognizing that bantered women, abused children, and pedophile uncles do live in our neighborhoods and reporting them to the proper authorities. To do so is not interferring as it is sparing families a great deal of pain. Getting together and talking or gossiping about it amongst friends or neighbors is simply condoning it.

In the meantime recognize that if these women and children, for the most part, do gain their freedom, that they have been rendered helpless, and can use our help. It is the families without employment as well as the vulnerable ones amongst us that are living that need a warm hug, a dinner invitation, or a radom act of kindness done by us that we need to think about, without the judgement. In simple offer the help when no harm is being done, and leave the judgement at home.

To me there appears to be, a greater interest in people to offer constructive criticism to someone on how they should look or dress, or weigh as well as to maintain the thinking that a person needs to think like we do; even when some one else’s different way of thinking hurts no one else, but if we listened, We might actually learn something; also so many are so interested in passing on the dirt that they do know will bring harm as well as hurt feelings to someone else! I don’t get it myself, What is the joy in finding fault,calling names, starting arguments over making it a priority to spread kindness and joy in a Christian World?

Churches preach Hate While Government Works Towards Compassion

I will end a week’s pursuit with this final and last blog for the week. Why is it that we Americans are in an uproar towards government at a time that they are showing more compassion while the Churches are preaching more hate against both the liberal as well as the gay community? I think most will agree, at the very least, that is a misplacement of priorities. While the churches preach hate and support for inequality, the government allows a greater expression of openness in the military with the gay community, pass healthcare for the majority and work towards getting control of some of the job losses.

Catholic Charities announced because of the potential of gays donating their time in their organizations they would no longer carry healthcare for anyone. A Baptist Church was added to the hate crime organizations of America because of their views against gays and it has long been known that the Mormans have spent tons of money fighting against the ERA for years.

From the 1920′s to 1971 the equal rights admendment sat stagnant with the excuse that women already have all the rights that men have while the Churches, Mormons especially, spent, “moocho bucks” defeating any efforts attempted. Eventually, though, right does win out in America and that is why we are the Nation that we are.

Lets face it, Religion has always been on the wrong side of justice in America from slavery, to equal rights, to corporal punishment used against helpless children. In the 1950′s and still the 1960′s Churches were against marrying people of different religions on their alters or in their tabernacles. Parents that are not Mormon today still cannot witness or give away their child in the Tabernacle. Catholics and protestants couldn’t marry on the alter and for all I know they still can’t. To marry a person of a different race had all the same hate spewn as same sex marriage does today. The Bible was brought out to spout how offensive it was for a white woman to lay with a black man. The government did not interfer with any changes made in these practices the Churches themselves realized they were losing parishioners,congregationalists,support and they felt the need to change as Americans’ passion for justice grew.

Churches are very slow to change and to accept what most of us only feel is a compassion for our fellow man. Because of it they are also slow to take responsibility for the fanatics that their preaching also sets loose on society to commit the havoc that it often causes. A great deal of the gay bashing, hate crimes and bombings that occur have to or morally should be shared with both the churches as well as the terrorists due to the bigotry being taught or the stand taken by the Churches, not just by the hate groups alone. Most have been inspired in their thinking from some pulpit or the other. In some cases they are being taught that they are God’s or Christ warriors and have a duty to strike back at the sinners.

That is the reason that Liberals are sometimes considered “vile” in the eyes of the Churches. Not because the liberals are hurting people but because they are forcing the Churches to have to speak out against the liberals and the gays. He made me say or do it scenario. People that accept humankind as one have had a long history of ex-communications in the Churches and because of it to be liberal, “is to be a child of Satan” and leads to the destruction of Society in the eyes of many religions. Unfortunately our churches are regulated by no one unless they start stocking up firearms or sexually abusing children. Even in that case, as we have seen, they are treated as though they are above the law.

I have never been able to understand where if ever forgiveness of gays and liberals by the Churches enter the picture. Perhaps even they know that one never has to apologize or defend love of one’s fellow man. It clearly is considered to be a sin though to be either liberal or gay. Talk about a contradiction of Christ’s teaching.The person that dares to think differently than the churches teach are always a threat to their basic foundation. To be docile and accepting is to be a good member of their congregation as it is always easier to lead and convince people that think in flock mentality as the Church does..

To those of us that are Liberal in our compassion, we simply accept all people with equality. If we are Christians we feel that it was/is Christ’s teachings that lead to the acceptance of all mankind as being the same and possessing inalienable rights. Churches have always had to change to keep up with the compassion of the liberal progressive thinker. Especially in the American churches so there is a large drive being done, through home schooling and summer camps, by especially fundamentalists an evangelicals as well, to “dummy up” their faithful. Intellectuals have long been despised by religion.

Although this will anger most, to take away the rights of women to gain health care for the majority while women pay for their own decisions on their reproductive health is as wrong as the Churches’ fight to maintain slavery was in the 1800′s. To subject women or I should say girl children to incest and rape and then not pay for it, is in itself another crime of rape.

To pay for Viagra but refuse women birth control is typical “Good OLE Boy” action. To deny gays Their Constitutional rights is simply wrong, in my estimation. I feel it will always be the right of all Churches to deny marriages to anyone they choose but it is not the place of States or Federal government to deny marriage or any right guaranteed in our Constitution to same sex couples simply because they are gay.

The Churches have every right to set their own Doctrine and rules and to accept both the aide granted them as well as the tax exemptions granted them by “we the people” but then they must stay entirely out of the government dictates to practice and to enforce the Constitution of this Great Land. I repeat as I have many times that it is the law regardless of how arrogant they are in thinking that they need not follow it.

Groups or organizations that do not contribute toward the support or tax base that allows government to govern especially should not be given a voice and certainly not be running the politicians or controlling their votes. At this point those of us that wore ourselves out talking about healthcare for all,” as being the right thing to do” have no choice but to congratulate those from President Barack Obama to the Democratic Congress and Senate that voted for what amounted to be insurance company reform instead of healthcare reform, because at least it is a start. No thanks to the Churches or the right wing Democrats or Republicans in their entirety, who fought it every step of the way.

Eventually we can hope that both the Churches and the right wing will exhaust themselves and blow up their lack of fair play with the hate that they produce in bigots over the issues and that women’s rights as well as all constitutionally quaranteed rights are as safe and secure as the anti-slavery laws of America are today in the Supreme Court of our land. I said, “We can hope!”

God help us all as Judge Stevens retires and his replacement is fought tooth and nail by both the Churches and right wing Democrats and Republicans! Here comes more mud folks! Some of these people have waited years for this liberal judge to retire so that they can over-ride Roe vs. Wade. God Bless you President OBama!

Don’t Let The Door Hit You In The Butt……

On your way out. We finally have a chance folks to get rid of an old bag of wind. Rush Limbaugh has made a promise that if healthcare goes through he is moving to Costa Rica. It would be great if he would take a few more with him but to get rid of someone that is constantly quoted in areas of the Country,as well as the foolish on the inter-net, as being gospel, it is almost like Spring has arrived. Lets urge our representatives in Washington to pass the healthcare reform now, to make sure he gets his wish.

Costa Rica has free health care no different from Canada and France so I can’t see it lived out on a better person than dear old Rush. Of coarse the kind thing to do would to be make sure the realtors of Costa Rica would be warned against selling him property near any living humans. I’d love to see old Rush baking in the sun with nothing more than his own thoughts to live with. But then again, maybe a home in the hot sweaty jungle where the mosquitoes bite back would be more fitting of justice for Dear old Rush. Maybe he can get Glen Beck a place next to him, if it proves too overwhelming for him to have to live with himself.

Passing healthcare now is a must anyway, if we are ever going to get the change in healthcare that we need, but doesn’t getting rid of Rush Limbaugh just make passing it that much more desirable? Sadly though since he is not what knowledgeable people would refer to as a man free from stretching truth, the question is: would he go or is it just more hot wind? We won’t know unless we urge our elected representatives to pass Healthcare now.

Have a nice day while I day dream about just what America without old Rush not being quoted by the gullible would look and feel like. Hell I’ll even raise the first dollar to send him on his “bon voyage!”

Final Chance on Healthcare

This is it folks. Either you voted for OBama because you wanted change, improvement in education and healthcare or you simply voted for him because you were upset with Bush. Which is it? It is now or never when it comes to healthcare. If we do not put pressure on our own Senators and Congressmen now to pass healthcare then be content to wait at least another ten years with insurance companies raising your premiums as much as 40% each year and giving you less coverage in the process.

As it was OBama was not in office for 6 months when all the propaganda and lies started against him. Certainly you do not believe in 6 months time one person, with out the lies, could have made such an upset in our Country do you? The same Country where we set back and let the Republicans spend 8 trillion dollars of our money that created the mess that we are in, and no one said anything?

For those of you that are upset because he tackled healthcare before jobs let me remind you as to why it was necessary. Healthcare was and has proven to be the biggest bone of contention. The Democrats minus the 14 hold outs are jeopardizing their very own futures in order to get healthcare through to the people in need. If you do not believe that then just look at the millions of dollars being spent on ads by the insurance companies and special interest groups that are scaring you to death if your representatives in Washington pass healthcare through. Had OBama waited to do healthcare he would not of had the early momentum that each new president gets to get through to the point that he has.

This is time to use your common sense and discount the propaganda. The best way to determine that it was lies was the total lack of respect that was being shown to the office itself before OBama was even close to having 8 months under his belt, as president. 2.3 trillion dollars is being spent now, out of our pockets, each year in both premium costs and taxes for far fewer people that do not have healthcare coverage and it is only going to get worse as it approaches the mark of 18 million people being uninsured. You will feel it come directly out of your pocket each time you need to visit the Doctors office, have surgery or you loved one gets sick if healthcare is not passed, in much more direct way than you are feeling it now. Right now without healthcare that is a guarantee!

I don’t like governments past history of operations either. At least this administration is giving auditors the insentive to find the fraud and greed by paying them only if and where they find it. This is something brand new for government. This is the change that we all voted for when OBama and the Democrats ran for office. Those that have shamed themselves by holding out to get their own religious needs met over what they were elected for or are showing the same scandal that haunts Washington, is not what healthcare is all about.

When was the last time that Insurance Companies or special interests ever governed themselves? Have you ever had to fight with them to pay a claim or gone in to a hospital thinking you had coverage only to find that you had been refused? These are the people that you are placing all your faith in over the person that we elected.

OBama has been doing his job, now we either support him, by putting pressure on our electives or we throw him and all of his efforts for us, not him, after all he has his own Dr. going everywhere with him, under the bus. Are you going to sit back and show through your own behavior that you are mad as hell at OBama for doing what he was elected to do or are you going to support his efforts. It truly is, now or never! It’s up to us to now take responsibility to do our part to get it through so that Obama and the Democrats and the few Republicans that do care about jobs, can move ahead with unemployment, at long last!

So Does Either Party Hold the Truth?

The answer to that is a resounding, “NO”. If we can’t find the truth in our own families how are we going to find the truth in politics? I write heavily on the side of the Democratic party simply because there are so many lies being spread against them. I doubt that, although I share their philosophy as a whole, that all of the Democrats elected are even aware of what their party stands for. Just ask the people of Nebraska about Ben Nelson’s representation of the Democratic Party and support for George Bush and voting along Republican lines.

I would not be married for 40 years to the man I love, who is Republican, if I did not respect him. Clearly his arguments are as sound as mind are. I become concern when I read all the right wing’s rhetoric that ties itself to the Republican Party and then frustrated that the general well being of our Country is being lost behind their onslaught of lies. Certainly one has grounds to say the same for individual members of the Democratic party.

That is my concern then that it no longer appears to be Democrats vs. Republicans but if we believe the Fox Network or the Christian Broadcast Networks or the internet then the Democrats are nothing more than left wing Liberals out to destroy America. Lets face it our 8 trillion dollar debt was able to grow in silence although reputable networks showed the massive debt ticking away on their networks. Even when the Republicans were in full control and causing the majority spending that led to the mess that we are in today, no one, was speaking up. It was not until George Bush came front and center and announced that the economy was in worse shape than what anyone knew and they were working towards bailing out the automobile industry, that word began spreading.

I try to be a fair person, but my common sense began bouncing off the wall at how quickly it went from the Republicans adding to this massive debt into being OBama’s fault for the whole thing. If all we ever hear is one voice and that is of the right-wing we should be concern. What in God’s name then is it that makes us believe it as though it is gospel?

Let’s face it, to be a politician takes an unique personality, in the first place. To begin with it is the only job in America that the employee has to buy the job. The same way that massive groups of Americans are moved by the charismatic personalities in their own families as well as the Evangelicals and the Fundamentalists ,especially, but all Churches in general attract members as a result of charismatic personalities, so do we the people elect our politicans.

The unfortunate truth is that the most competent people amongst us are not driven my the ego of our politicians. They have to believe that they know better than all the rest of us, how to solve the ills of society, not much different than the leaders of our churches and the family member that in a sense holds all of hostage. The salary is not enough to pay for their expenses once they get to Washington and with an over blown ego to begin with doesn’t it make sense that they could be persuaded with both special interests and cash shortages that it will be just this one time?

In order to live comfortably then as a politician, most need to be wealthy before they get to Washington. Since when did people that are accustomed to having their butts kissed, their meals picked up and people hired to do the monotous work, ever know what living in America entailed? Just to attend functions necessary to be able to network in Washington, itself, will not pay for a poor mans livelyhood. To think that any politician no matter how much that they convince us otherwise, is not part of Washington, is ludicrous!

The minute they do win the election, which required the beginning of the lies, as their campaign slogans should all read the same, “I am here to bullshit my way through until I win your vote,” they are hit with the influence of Washington. Have no doubts about it, in order to be able to run and win the elections, due to handlers and special interests, unless they have paid for their own campaigns, they have already made promises to special interest of some type.

This is not just a phenominal thing that happens in Washington. It exists in State and City elections as well. I am not neither against Religion or Republicans as both play a necessary as well as major place in our lives. No one wants a one party system. That is why only one State in the Union, has a uni-cameral, and that is Nebraska. To be Democrat and to live in the State means the only way a Democrat’s vote is going to win is if the Republicans approve of the candidate. So far the only Democrat president that has won their approval has been L.B. Johnson. That means generations of families that vote Democrat have never won a presidential election. None of us want that.

I myself would never had been able to survive the 30 plus years of pain that I have lived with if I did not believe in God, and without religion, I would have never known of His generosity, to me. Ask anybody that deals with people on a regular basis, in death and they will all tell you the same thing, “On the death bed there are no atheist”. Having held the hands of people that are dieing I have been puzzled as to why they continue to live following the death rattles, and it seems to be Universal, that when a person dies they need to be able to let go Spiritually as well as physically.

I do believe though, just as governments, have no right to interfer in religion that religion has no right to tie itself or it’s followers to government. Just as the choice of Church is ours the candidate also should be ours to choose. Unless those of us that are still left with a monicum of common sense, speak up against the lies of the right wing,who else will? One thing that we can all agree with is no one family member, church or politican is the holder of the truth so why do you all speak as they are?

The Problem With Groups and Organizations

I have no problem with people meeting in groups and even organizing organizations from grassroots beginnings as the theory holds. The problem with most of them, over time, is that eventually the reason they formed, no longer becomes the priority of their cause in many cases. Somewhere along the line they pick up people of greed that see it as an opportunity to really cash in or they end up appealing to the zealots that are a six pack short when it comes to reality. The so called grassroots groups, as the Tea Party, describes itself to be is of a concern to me because of the hatred they display for Obama.

I remember the beginning roots of “Feed the Children.” It was an admirable organization as most of the dollar given was then put into actually feeding the children. As it gained in size, it became like setting loose a monster, in my opinion. to have rumors of corruption in Haiti ,somehow, does not surprise me. When I decided to contribute to it’s cause I was inundated with both calls and mailings, that in my case alone, was more about the organization than it was of the cause. I felt almost hounded in return for the donation I gave. I do not pick on it alone as there are many charitible organizations out there that I can say the same about. Special olympics comes to my mind immediately, as well. Eventually in order to stop all of the hours put into me to get me to contribute again, I simply had to go to annonymous donations.

Why don’t charitible groups understand that as long as they are spending so much money on hiring people to do the constant calling, some of them with arm twisting tactics, they are going to lose their base. Doesn’t it make sense to everybody, other than myself, that if so much is going into the pursuit of my donations, that it stands to reason that I will feel that instead of feeding the children the dollars are going into calls and mailings? Some of them have their hour long television shows and, I’m sorry, but I have to wonder how many dollars it takes to run the hour long program that could have fed the children.

I will always be more inclined to donate again to those causes that simply acknowledge the receipt of my donation and allow me to choose if I want to support them again. Obviously if I donated in the first place, there was something about them that appealed to me.

I would say that this scenario applies to almost any grassroots organizations and when they add political or religious reasonings to them or that is their purpose in the first place, that there will always be the danger of attracting both the corrupt and the zealots. The groups that set out to pray in front of planned parenthood buildings finds that it has a member in it’s core that goes beserk and kills the people in the clinic, I wonder if the group takes responsibility for it?

Wouldn’t most of us think that if we were showing up to enforce our belief of prayer and pro-life on another person that was simply there to get the same birth control pills that at least a couple of members in the group praying for the sinners inside are taking, that we are setting our own judgements up to back fire? Are they not at least partially guilty ,for the one amongst them, that goes beserk for their having stirred up the passion inside of the person that decides to take the cause in his/her own direction? Isn’t it like the snowball that starts at the top of the hill and by the time it emplodes on the bottom it is large enough to create damage to the person standing in it’s way?

That then is my concern of the grassroots that are forming in our Country. Will they all have a few of those that decide that they are not getting anywhere in the direction that they are taking peacefully and will someone wrestle away the control that turns the groups from simply being concern into being militant?

Anytime groups form in groups as controversial as religion and politics there is always reason to believe that the probability does exist. Especially when hate is at their roots even though most of them refuse to believe that their cause alone is capable of hate, in time history shows the likelyhood of hate coming front and center, in the embalanced. Instead of the military looking into Planned Parenthood records why in the world isn’t it looking into the groups outside that are clearly interested in forming out of the cause of their own black and white mentality?

Planned Parenthood is simply operating a service to those that feel the need to require it’s service. Why the military even needs to be investigating in the first place puzzles me but why wouldn’t they be more concern about the people that are enforcing their own beliefs on others than they would be about the people that are simply doing their jobs for the women that require their service?

Grassroots groups or any organizations that start out as charitible, political, and religious should always be suspect because of the passion they can and do stir up in people that are not capable of burying their own hate or acting on them as a “Ripe Plum to Pick” by those that operate in greed.

Why Does the Bully appear to win

If you have read my previous blogs then you know that whenever life appears to be perfect is when the Bully swings into action behind their pulpit to first split and divide and then to lead. They are everywhere amongst all of us. We seem to accept special interests spending millions of millions of dollars with their ads saying, “Call Washington tell them that the OBama plan will bankrupt us and to start over on the healthcare plan.” Who does that benefit if not the Republicans? Most people would ask why are the special interests backing the Republicans, anyway, at least it appears to me that people with common sense would ask that. Instead the polls show that people believe them. There is only one reason they would be willing to spend that kind of money and it is because they stand to lose so much more than the millions they are willing to spend.

Why then do the polls show that the constant phone calls saying the same thing as well as the ads are believed rather than dismissed for the propaganda that they are. Currently the tax payers and policy holders across America are paying out 2.3 trillion dollars a year to carry people that are uninsured in America. Doesn’t it stand to reason then the insurance companies and special interests that profit as a result of this and stand to lose the most, if healthcare goes through, would most likely be the ones willing to spend millions in order to keep trillions? Economists that are not Republican are forcasting that it will actually save us 600 Billion a year. Isn’t it better to at least lay some ground work now rather than do nothing? We elected Barack OBama and Clinton both in order for them to do something about healthcare. I truly believe both are/were sincere in doing just that but they get defeated when they try by the same people that claim to want healthcare but do nothing about it once they get in office, mainly the Republicans.

Hitler and Stalin both led from Bully pulpits and many people lost their lives in the most atrocious ways imaginable. We now have religious groups dispelling the fact that it ever happened and people believe them because they lead from the pulpit. We all tell ourselves that they would have been believed it if we lived during that time. Yet we currently have the same propaganda leading our beliefs today. It is in our homes where family members that appear to be the most charismatic will split and divide our own families and they are believed to get through their own agendas.

It isn’t the person that gains nothing that is splitting the family but rather the person that has the most to lose, even when everyone believes the person that has gained their own success through asking nothing of the family, is at fault. “The good guy never wins syndrome” and the “squeeky wheel gets the most attention syndrome” operates everyday in our own households. What we fail to see is the ones we protect are usually the less successful and the the ones we reject are the ones that ask nothing of us.

Is there really any difference from that and in the way we believe the lies in the ads on healthcare? What kind of a record have the Republicans held when it has come to the government’s concern of the people versus their interest in the Oil Companies, tax breaks for the wealthy and big business, even when they ship jobs over-seas, and Churches that own massive wealth? They all but gutted education and that is now the reason so many of our stimulus dollars are going into keeping schools running as well as the jobs for teachers. No child left behind proved to be one of the biggest failures that this Nation has seen.

Mothers favor their weakest child and when Mothers are no longer going to be there to provide then other family members need to be duped in order to replace Mom’s position of fiscal provider. When a persons survival depends on it they are always more charismatic than the person that sees through the lies. If you are the family member that tries to wake up the family before they succumb to the manipulation you will always be the member under attack.

We all ask, “What is wrong with the bantered wife that does not get out?” even while we are being manipulated by family, politicians, and business. Who gains the most when we contribute our time and money to corporate America? Every State will offer free land and tax free exemptions to corporations that will sit up business in there States and offer jobs. Even when they do not hire nearly enough people to justify what the tax payers are paying out.

People bankrupt their own lives spending in the stores and blame the credit card company rather than the stores that run the attractive ads and sales that get them into the stores in the first place. The same is true about the companies that run the ads to inspire those late night trips to pick up food that is unhealthy for them. It is almost as though the television has become the new religion in their lives. If the ads say so then it must be true.

All of us pay out so much more of our dollars and time and actual lively hood to corporate America but we are so much more willing to believe that government is corrupt than we are to believe that big business is, so when we have companies that go broke, that held our pension plans, then we blame government rather than the management of our own companies that paid out way too much in CEO’s salaries and bonuses and just flat out stole both our working hours as well as our pension funds.

For years now when people get close to the point of collecting retirement benefits they are being laid off and still we blame government. What is it about the mentality of the American people that would rather have big business own our lakes and our parks and water rights than we would government? I think it all gets down to the fact that we hold government responsible for everything that is wrong in our lives because every year on the news and in the ads someone is running for election, our listening to what we know is the truth and the way that societies establish itself with the pecking order, that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer goes out the window when it comes to common sense, as it’s easier to blame government. Why wouldn’t big business be more interested in owning America than the government would be? I do believe that every thought process that runs through the brain of America that makes us accept things that our common sense would tell us is false, starts and ends in the Family. Just the same way we refuse to see the member of the family that holds us all hostage we fail to see what special interests and Big Business is doing to corrupt us.
