I am tired of hearing the Republican business mentality talk about how Americans and California especially, have people who do not want to work and the more government helps people, it makes them lazier. The conversation against the teachers and their Unions, and the efforts by the Republicans to eliminate it, also should stick in our minds, as it is not just the best of highschool teachers but college professors, as well, who are being eliminated in these efforts.

Are their teachers that should be removed? Of course there are but their numbers do not match the talent in American schools who are being eliminated by the Republican and business propaganda that too many are falling for. As someone who has written extensively, myself, on entitlement in families and taking responsibility for ourself, I do not deny that some of that does exist.

Every family will have either an immediate or extended member, somewhere in its midst, who refuses to grow up unless they are forced into it and kicked out of the nest. To group the entire family in this group or millions of Americans together as being lazy, or to have this cavalier attitude because these people do exist, then we are right in denying all Americans jobs is just more of the selfish attitude that is permeating the Republican Party who believes that all Americans have an even chance to gain wealth and that illness, disability and bigotry does not exist in America.

The dignity of most Americans is directly tied to the jobs they work. We as a Country often define ourselves by the jobs that we hold. The hope that lies in the belly of the American worker to improve on the station of their life to succeed to the American dream is still alive and healthy in America, despite Corporate’s attempts to crush that dream. When the Republicans speak they talk about the 1 out of many who does feel entitlement and throw the baby out in the dishwater.

If the American worker did not want to work, as so many of these out of touch Republicans and paid media reporters claim, then the seasonal construction jobs offered would go unfilled along with the Christmas jobs that are offered part-time in the retail markets. People would not line up for blocks when a rumor is started that such and such are hiring. We would not have more people applying for a job than what jobs are available.

When the People who own or are the Corporations of America own 40% of the wealth of America, and networks as well as cable television along with newsprint push the idea that the problem in America is a bunch of lazy Americans who do not want a job and instead want entitlement programs, then we simply continue what the Republicans want everyone to believe and do a huge disfavor to American workers, as well as, to our own Democracy.

I challenge every Republican to quit fighting the workers and instead move towards pressuring Corporate to just offer the jobs and see how fast people do show up to fill these jobs. I am not talking about the $2.25 jobs that are dependent on tips or the $5.00 an hour jobs that won’t even pay for the gasoline or babysitter, even though most of these jobs are currently being filled. I am talking about offering the American worker a descent job that will bring back respectability to the dignity of the person, who has an opportunity to realize their own value, and just see how quickly people will get off of unemployment and foodstamps and how rapidly our economy will improve.

Of course we know that instead the Republicans and Tea Party will continue to try to defeat the teacher’s Union who would train the American workers for the new and changing work force, as well as, prevent jobs from happening by trying to lay off more middle class workers or including the Keystone pipeline for the wealthy oil Companies into a job package, instead. They are doing it while blaming OBama, for not working for jobs while they, themselves, do nothing but try to tax the middle class further, and defeat the jobs bill being fought for by Obama.

I am so tired of hearing these egotistical selfish human beings who represent business, through both the Republican Party and the media, take themselves seriously when they talk about Americans and entitlement. If Newt did pray for redemption and forgiveness then how much of the 100 million dollars that he made, using his influences, is he willing to give back to the taxpayers?

If Corporate and Private business started offering the jobs and the Bush tax breaks were lifted on the wealthy they could balance the budget tomorrow. The only people more disgusting than the paid media are those who are equally out of touch as the Republican Party, and getting wealthier by the minute, who represent this bigotry and mentality and the greed that feeds it. Yes folks, I am talking about the Florida Family Ass who forced Lowes into denying that they caved under the pressure of the Right Wing Conservatives.

To leave out any confusion, for those who scoff at placing rules in our homes, and maybe are confused otherwise; Setting standards in our family, that we will all live by as well as expect our children to live by, are setting rules in our homes.

By being consistent with the enforcement of the rules we establish harmony in our homes, as well as eliminate confusion over what we expect of our child or children because we ask no less of ourselves. The rules or standards, are not unjust, too lenient, or too strict. We do the same when we set the standards in all of our lives, and that is why we know how to set them, and where to draw the line.

Too many times we set standards for ourselves and others that are simply too high to accomplish or do the reverse and set the bar too low. When we are looking for a job, someone to commit to, planning to provide for our children’s future, or what we will do to contribute to Society, we need to be realistic.

Many times we will blame life for not giving us the break it gave everyone else, when in truth, we did have the opportunity that everyone else gets but because we doubted or over-rated our own ability to perform, that of our child’s or spouse’s or felt it was beneath us, we passed on opportunity when it was right in front of our own noses.

If we are self-employed and constantly set the bids too high because our standard of living needs more, we often price ourselves out of what could have been a lucrative future if we had been more realistic about the competition we would be competing against. When we are willing to let the Company hiring, indicate what they feel is fair, and we take the lost income now, we will many times find that our exposure to others, while doing that job, can many times lead to meeting the people who will give us the break, if not finding it in the Company, where we currently work.

Although Companies are slower to show loyalty themselves, they still look for it in people, who give them loyalty. Many times they will remember we were willing to work for less and reward us accordingly, the longer we stay with them. Other times they will keep us on, when the next layoffs come around. It will never be the concern of Companies to make certain we can maintain our own standards of living, but instead, our responsibility to lower our own costs by eliminating wasteful spending.

If we understand that all people age and change their appearance and our only criteria in looking for a spouse is appearance, we are going to end up with something quite different, once we are married for a few years. Their character as well as their potential to adapt to their surroundings over trying to control it or us, along with the level of communication they exert, will offer us far more in the future, when life does become difficult.

Those who are continually angry or teary eyed or bitchy now, will not improve with age or commitment. The person that says,”I fell in love with them because they liked what I liked,” is often more in love with themselves than they are with us. We need to realize that the dating period is as phony as we are, since we both are on our best behavior. He or she are trying to impress us, as much as, we are them. Many times when they are rushing the courtship it is because they know they will not be able to fake it,for long.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that we cannot force people to think as we do anymore than we can force loyalty out of others or make them love us. If we see things, while dating, that are throwing up warning signals we need to listen to our common sense and pay attention to what we are sensing is a problem. The lies and behavior, we are picking up on now, will be part of our own hell, later, when we refuse to listen to those warnings now.

For those who are confused as to the saying, “The wedding cake is the most dangerous food of all,”I will explain what it means here. We are never so vulnerable as we are when we fall in love. We will do things unimaginable for the person that we have fallen in love with. Many will lower their own standards and the most honest of people can become liars. Many times jealousy or the inability to hang onto our spouses’ fidelity will lead to murder or criminal behavior on the part of those who would never have believed it years earlier.

2500 pregnant women who are mostly married, will be killed yearly by their spouses who professed to want children. When we telly the record of battered people in a marriage who are killed or injured and add the number who marry us for both our income or life insurance, those numbers go through the roof.

We need to sit standards before we fall in love and stand by them once we do. If we fail to marry character, but instead marry the bad boys or the wild girls, we will become part of what is bad and wild about them. We will not fix or change them and that we can take to the bank and bank on it.It maybe the only thing bankable in the entire relationship. As soon as they become bored, which is frequently, we will become history and hope that we still have our lives intact. Even though they may not want us, they often, make certain no one else will get us either.

I have written enough on children to make us open our own eyes to what direction we need to take in my previous posts but I would also like to add, that average intelligent children, do not make straight A’s unless our own pressure forces them into cheating or we hire tutors to help them.

When cheating happens we need to make certain that they are doing their own homework at home because they will rarely be caught by their teachers. Most of us would not be able to figure out their systems either. If we have average intelligence in our children, they obviously will not be getting 4 year full paid scholarships.

We need to make it both our child’s priority by having them earn income as well as our own savings will need to go into that pursuit.Lower income scholarships, not based on grades, statistically go to those living below the poverty line. Middle class students with average ability and average intelligence, who do not live below poverty, will get the least in both scholarships and loans. Buying a car when they turn 16, obviously will not be part of the plan, if education comes first.

When it comes time for all of us to give back to Society, we will need to look at our own strengths and weaknesses and decide for ourselves, where we will be able to contribute the most,in the best way that we can. If we have been doing nothing but taking or even if we are not always being paid for what we do, we have a responsibility to offer our thanks for the gifts of freedom and Democracy, we all enjoy. We need to educate ourselves in the way we will vote, that will protect both our freedoms and Democracy, and understand voting is the responsibility of all of us.

We find our own niche in life, by first finding maturity and character in ourselves and then in our spouse, by raising children who will make a positive difference in Society because they learned from our own example, as well as the guidance we instilled in them, and by giving back to America. When we set standards high enough for all to reach but not so high they or we, are bound to fail, we take responsibility for our own successes of life.

For those who have not discovered it yet, drug usage and sales, are no longer just in the poverty sections of Cities and communities. It is in the middle and upper classes of America,as well. Once unheard of, in rural areas, it is now escalating everywhere. When he have drug users being supported by families, while they draw unemployment, then we can add them to the list of uncurable unemployment.

As larger numbers drop out of Society or schools, to join white Supremists and Patriot groups, while drawing unemployment, and more kids are told the uselessness of education, by these same groups, then we can add a higher drop out rate in education, while drawing unemployment into the adult years. As children are given more, while doing less to earn it, we add an increase amount of laziness to the lists of adults who would rather draw unemployment over working. All of these adults become uncurable unemployment records.

When we refuse to see 18 year olds as the adults that they are and expect them to leave home to either get an education or to hold down a job, while paying their own expenses, we create more people who will be drawing unemployment. When we have adults who refuse to take on jobs that they feel that are beneath them, we have another market for incurable unemployment.

When we have people refusing to leave what they know as home to go elsewhere to get jobs, that are not being filled, then we have immature adults who would rather draw unemployment over working. If unemployment was truly based on the amount of time worked as versus the about of time un-employed we would find more people taking the jobs that they currently feel over-qualified for, in my estimation.

The other thing, that all of us must keep in mind is that Corporate Amercia is not going to hire as long as they have oversight committees over them, if all they need to do is wait until the Republican Party comes back into office and withdraws all of the restrictions. They can produce product, at less cost, over seas, just as easilly. It is in their best interests to keep employment down and umemployment up, in order to persuade ,we, the American public, to vote the Republicans back in, so they can elimininate the Unions and go unchecked without restrictions, on their gaining profits again.

Unfortunately this is what created the mess that the Republican majority got us into.We already know that when restrictions are lifted on banks, oil companies, and Corporate the greed takes over at an expense to the middle class, as that was well proven when the restrictions were lifted. Please remember, though, that as the private sector made more money the working sector were laid off at even a greater rate, when restrictions were lifted. It was the over-seas market, who gained in employment. Lifting restrictions, only means gains to oil companies, Corporate and Banks, and more often than not a higher cost to the workers.

As long as they continue stock piling money while the banks continue refusing to lend money, then all they need to do is wait for another Republican majority, while draining the Government Treasury, by keeping taxes down.Once Uncle Sam no longer has funds to pay it’s debts then private business will own government and in doing so eliminate all restrictions that allows greed to run rapid, and we will truly see inflation like we have never seen, before, with the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.

The goal of the new Republicans and Tea Party candidates as well as “those for a more Prosperous America” who are running to be president in 2012, will be to convince us that our taxes are too high, although it is a complete lie since our Federal taxes, are as low as they have been since the 1950′s. Many of your States have been poorly ran and that combined with oil, cigarette, and City taxes along with the increase in food costs, may be taking a drain on your checks but Federal taxes remain too low, to reimburse the Treasury for rises in future costs.

Sadly, what we have going on in America, today, is uncurable unemployment with those who do want to work and are willing to make the sacrifices, that our fore-fathers made by moving across America to do so, paying the price. Reality is that government cannot force companies to hire or people to work, and as a result, we will maintain high unemployment until we do have a robust economy with people wanting to go back to work, again.

The argument has always existed that Capitalism is greed and unless we take off government restrictions then we choke free enterprise. Capitalism does need to be able to flourish but not at the expense of the American people who are made more desitute as a result of it. Without government then private business has no restrictions preventing it from literally bankrupting America.Too many have already attempted to do just that, and in the process both we as well as our children, and grandchildren are or will pay the price to make a handfull of people wealthier.

It has been my experience that those who do want to work will work even if it is in volunteer until they do make the right contact that will employ them, even if it means moving across Country or in some cases, out of Country. No one can keep a person of ambition down, not even Corporate or Politicians.”We the People” need to insist that the Republicans go back to work for we,who elect them,so that banks can start making rational loans and both the oil companies and Corporate quit gouging the American worker, by pressuring or paying, the Tea Party or the Republicans to work against us. We all need to go back to work by re-electing Barack OBama. We need to tell the “say No and argue” Republicans and
Tea Party Candidates, that they will not be elected unless they learn the art of compromise that benefits, “We the People”!

The two areas in our lives that are becoming more blurred all the time, in my opinion, are what and exactly are we owed and who and what exactly has the right to our free will and intellect. I will try to keep it short and sweet and to the point, as the answers are nothing and no one, once we become of age.

When we are children, our parents owe us an education, protection, one set of clothes on our back and shoes on our feet, food in our stomachs, medical care, and a roof over our heads. Once we become adults, no matter how many times we announce,”that we did not ask to be born,” it is our responsibility to do all and the same for ourselves. Anything we get as both children and adults beyond that, is strictly based on the good will or charity of our parents. Without charity at home most of us would never have the head start in life that most of our parents give willingly and cheerfully. For those of us to think that somehow Uncle Sam or Corporate America owes us the same, is where the lines start becoming less clear.

Since it is easy to answer the question:” as to who do we owe our free will and intellect?” that we all own, regardless of gender, race, creed or color, I will answer it first. Once we become adults and are no longer living under the roof or having our needs met or provided for us by our parents and their guidance; No one on earth, not our parents, boy/girl friend, spouse,Church, employer, government or corporate have a right to infringe on or usurp our own right to think for ourself and to choose.

That includes what we think, what we believe in, on all levels of our life, who we marry, where we work and how we vote. Absolutely everything that makes us the person that we are and become, is in our hands to determine for ourselves, once we move out of the homes provided for us by our parents. Along with the awesome freedom, when we live in America, comes the responsibility to obey ALL the laws of our land and to provide for our own mental, physical and spiritual needs on what level we choose or are capable of providing.

When we work at Corporate America we are owed an honest days pay for an honest days work along with the benefits that many of us pay into or are guaranteed to us before they hire us. Corporate does not owe us a job even when it feels we are qualified for the same. That is why education beyond highschool along with the willingness to travel or move, is so important to the well-being of our livelihood. Government at the same token, owes us nothing more than what “we the people” have paid into. If the voters of the land chose to take away even those entitlements, that we have paid into, tomorrow, we would be entitled to nothing. That is why giving away our vote to anyone person or group, regardless of what function they play in our lives, has paramount importance to it.

One of the biggest divides between the Republican Party as vs. the Democratic Party, in their philosophy is ,to what effect, we as a civilized Nation, do morally owe our less fortunate brothers and sisters that are often hit with hardship, amongst us. Many times ,in my opinion, common sense along with our experience tells many of us, that when people refuse to give, they often times are the first to need the benefits of the more generous amongst us, and many times become the loudest with their complaints, when they do not receive.

It does, many times, depend on how important it is to a Democracy to become the people we wish to be, that does make us the person that many of us wish to become. Giving back, for a great many of us, becomes a necessity for peace of mind and joy of living. In short, our own well-being and happiness, often times depends on remaining the great Democracy that others have fought and died for, regardless of what walk of life we start from, as that is what keeps us United, even while living in opposite parts of our Nation.

So much of what makes both family and America great, is as a result of the good will and charity of both, “we the people” as well as our family. When they both lend a hand to our own well-being it should earn both gratitude and appreciation. We all would be well advised to remember just how important our current Democracy is to all of us, and to understand and remember, to what extent we owe both it as well as family, instead of feeling entitlement as to what they owe us.

Nothing is more precious that living in an American society and that is the reason so many have sacrificed their life to maintain our Democracy,as it is. Again, all well bodied healthy adults are responsible for their own success or failure as well as peace of mind. Use the gifts that each of us are fortunate enough to receive through the genetics of our ancestors, or if we are a believer,God, and make it count.

We all act as though the Tea Party is some kind of third party that is going to show both the Republicans and Democrats how to run government and seem to have lost sight of the fact that the Tea Party are Republicans being advised by the same man, that advised George “Dubya” Bush and Dick Cheney. That of course is, Carl Rove.

Remember the same people who duped the voters into believing that America would be less safe if we did not re-elect them, even though the only attack by terrorists, that happened on America soil and was successful, was the attack that they missed? Namely, 9/11, nearly 9 months after they took full control and had been warned by the previous administration. I believe the Tea Party gave OBama approximately 6 months to totally turn around the economy before they started protesting. The Tea Party seems to be the nemesis of what no self-respecting voter would vote for, after all they use abusive language, are bigots and bullies and paid for by questionable means.

The other two attempts by outside terrorists to attack America, have been prevented during the OBama administration. The economy is headed the right direction after a mere two years in office. All of us who have children or grandchildren with autism, diabetes, cerebral palsy, or are battling cancer etc. cannot have our children or grandchildren dropped from their parents policy nor can our mates that struggle with Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, heart disease, kidney failure, or diabetes etc. be dropped because of pre-existing disease.

Even though the Republicans have said we would not be able to keep our Dr.s we now know that is a lie.OBama passed the equal pay for equal work bill. Even during a healthy economy unemployment can only drop by 1/2% per year. That has happened as it has dropped from 10.2 to 9.6. The economy and private business are growing again, albeit slower than what the American instant success register, would like it to. We are an impatient bunch that always wants an instant fix. Remember that double dip recession that was going to put us into a worse recession since the market crash of the 20′s? It never happened nor is it going to happen, the economy is growing again. Yes we have a way to go yet but give it time.

Compare the facts with the truth and that is the Tea Party are Republicans who appear to have no heart and do not try to disguise their open bigotry. They are using both fear and bully tactics to scare the American Public. Remember the same way it worked with all of you when George Dubya pretended to be a right-wing conservative? Why shouldn’t they sound familiar, when they are being advised by the same man? It is my fondest hope that somehow or someway this Country will not be duped once more by the say “No” Republicans and they get the message that “we the people” want policy and not gridlock.

It is up to us to send that message tomorrow, so that Washington goes back to working on policy that will help the economy grow at an even higher rate, while the unemployment works itself the rest of the way out, in the direction it is already headed. Regardless, if you vote Tea Party candidate or GOP candidate, you are still voting for the party and it’s adviser, that put us in this mess in the first place. Vote Democrat, if you are as tired as I am, of being duped by the showman, Carl Rove.

Add to the lack of work experience, your degree is only a highschool degree and you have been homeschooled, and it spells disaster, in some areas of the Nation, at a time that you are looking for work and competing against 40 year olds with plenty of work experience, who have been laid off, and new college graduates. Do not use that as an excuse to not look, however. Mom and Dad the easier you make the stay at your home the more you rob your own children of both ambition and ingenuity. Who will go to work if they find nothing but free and comfortable lodging with spending money? All of the above, are in trouble, if you do not use your own creativity,in the areas where jobs have not come back, when it comes to the job hunt.

Employers need to see why they should hire you over all the other potential employees they are looking at, currently. It is important that you are able to sell yourself as to why they need you as well as why you need them. Do not take your arrogance with you but now is not a time to be shy, either. If you do have experience or education beyond highschool, it does not always need to be in the field that companies are hiring, as many times Companies are only looking for leadership skills, while wanting to train or retrain you in their own work environment.

Of the three groups, unless you have had an erratic work record and have gone from one job to the next, never staying long enough to establish a clear-cut picture of your work skills, the 40 something is still most likely to get the call back. Employers do not want to see someone who has made it to adulthood totally dependent on mom and dad for their income and never having worked outside of the home. Add to that, home school ,and they have nothing that will indicate to them you even have social skills, much less work ethnic.

So what does it take to find a job in this kind of lost work environment? Dress professionally, lose the heavy make-up(light will suffice) and remove the ear rings if you are male and the nose ring if female. Conservative haircuts as well as hair color, are a necessity. Cover any and all tats, because employers are not looking for “cool.” If you are asked to come back for an interview, schedule it for the earliest possible part of the day, if they ask you to set the time for the interview. Many times when employers are in the position that they can choose from the cream of the crop that first interview(when all things are equal) will leave the most lasting impression. It also shows the potential employer that you are eager to get up and get going on the day.

So you have your college degree and have never worked as you stayed at home with mom and or dad and they paid your way. Was there something that you did in the family business or around the home that can beef up a resume? Do you have a hobby that shows talent or skill? What about volunteer jobs? Did you hold a position in the boy/girls scouts? Edit the school newspaper or year book? Hold elected offices at the college you attended? Are you willing to travel? The middle of the Country has not been hit as hard as the rest of the Nation. There have even been jobs that have gone wanting even with continued growth in States like North Dakota and Texas where they were not hit by an over built housing market. The same is true about over-seas jobs where english speaking people are needed.

Other States worthy of looking into, closer to home, are,South Dakota,Oklahoma,Iowa, Missouri,Kansas, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Although there maybe areas or cities in these States that have been hit hard there may be more remote areas needing help. Arizona if you are older. Arizona is filled with retirees and there are many times jobs for 40 to 50 year olds in these places as that is still considered young by the older population standards. The Nation is and has been short of nursing care for a number of years now. Handy men/women, even if you have been use to doing construction jobs, come at a premium almost everywhere, there are older people. It is not unusual handy men/women find that they can begin their own construction companies by beginning this way. Don’t always get caught up in looking at the larger towns or cities as often times the midsize to smaller size towns or cities have a difficult time filling job applications.

If you are drawing un-employment but not particularly interested in finding a job and even have turned down a job or two this does not weigh well with your future when the job market returns. You do need to get back to work. Any job, even if it is volunteer or temporary Christmas help, for now, is better than doing nothing when it comes to going back to work. The benefit of doing this, is, some times both volunteer as well as temporary jobs, can and do lead to full-time paying jobs, once we do make the connections and prove ourselves to be dedicated workers.

Do you have an older family member or friend of the family, that needs help and can pay you to help out? If your work record remains void, even during this time of difficulty, it will not bode well for you, when the job market does return. Most employers will take a good look at what you did by checking through your records and interviews or the lack of them, when they do start hiring again. It’s the character that we show during times of lay-off that can often times cost us or cinch the job for us,when the market returns. Sometimes, during times like this, we do need to both make and create a demand for ourself in the market, even when it means starting from scratch and last person out.

The good news is, that Bank of America is hiring 1000 new employees and there are signs that other companies, will both hire and keep on temporary help, after the Holidays. I have faith, even though it may take more time, that we will be back again, if we don’t elect incompetent as well as the same old mentality that put us in this mess, in the first place on Nov.2nd..

Life, as a general rule, is fairly simple, it is people who complicate it. For instance, most people are comfortable with being themselves as well as accepting others as themselves, until different people start picking them apart about their style of dress, way of thinking, their belief system, affiliations, where they live and what they do. How many of us recognize that as children we did genuinely enjoy someone but because we were pressured into thinking something was wrong with that person,we began finding fault with them as well? That then is just the beginning of the real danger of popularity. Combine with it, the fact that parents are all but bankrupting themselves in some cases, to make sure their children are or remain popular, and we end up with a society that has lost touch with their own priorities and the significance of the same.

If we were told, if we allowed our child to drink a poison, he or she would end up being confused, they would perform as a robot trying to please everyone but themselves, lose their own ability to know and understand who they were or what they represented, separate from what their friends thought, would achieve, only to please someone else, many of us would make sure that we would safeguard our child from the poison. However, this is exactly what we insist our children become, when we insist they be popular. Instead we should be making them aware of the fact that they will suffer more as a result of popularity rather than gain from it. Every child on earth wants to be popular but few know the price they pay for the same.

Many times they grow up lost and very shallow as a result of our having forced popularity on them or not educating them in the significance of being true to their own goals. It is fine for children to have the comfort of friends that support their own goals and needs but if they are simply following the lead they are already facing complications in their life.Often times they will fail at something for the first time in their life, when they are away from their parents or group, be the first to do drugs, turn towards risky behavior, and be unable to cope, if they do not understand clearly their own reasoning for saying no to such behaviour. We see many highschool valedictorians become tomorrow’s failure because they peaked early in life and cannot handle the stress of having discovered they are unable to make decisions on their own, think on their feet, or are totally lacking in street smarts.

In short they become lost very quickly when left to think, plan, and decide their own futures, if they have never had the chance to do so, on their own. Some will still go on and be high achievers but they also will sometimes be the person with the Dr.s degree, waiting tables, as they may be both socially as well as book smart but be very life and skill naive. In short they have no ideal of where they would best perform in life so go on and attend college because they are confused as to what it is they do want to do. Although college is extremely important to open doors for our future sometimes others will go on and on with college because it gives them more time to avoid dealing with themselves and their own reality. They have always relied on others, their book intelligence, sports skills, or friends to make decisions for them with or without their own imput.

‘If we learn to rely on ourself and do our own thinking and planning while still in the home with support from our families then we learn the significance of being independent from our group. It is really quite simple. We all know that some of our favorite moments are those times we have to spend alone with a good book and a bubble bath but instead of allowing our child the same, we are constantly on the go in an effort to make sure they do not miss out on being popular or what many foolishly think, prepared for success.

It should occur to us all, unless our child is given time to self reflect, think on their own two feet, work towards a goal that will please themselves, and not always us or others etc., we will not be preparing our children towards understanding and welcoming the idea that life decisions are their’s and their’s alone to determine and make. How can they possibly make them if they do not have a clue as to who they are?

Life is simple, we need to recognize how badly we are complicating it in our own lives and learn to let go and relax a little, or get off our duffs and become the leaders/examples we were meant to become. Our background does not make us the people we become but the way we view life exclusively, ourself, makes us become the person that we are. So often we expect so much more of others than we are willing to do or give ourselves. When we make today, along with all of our own tomorrows, count in ways that are important to each of us, our life will count for something as well.

Some people appear to be caught in a cycle of pessimism and obsession that is clouding their own ability to think, in my opinion. Although it is not my attempt to sound insensitive, sometimes reality can sound that way when times are difficult.

Regardless of what our present situation is, until we accept the reality of it, we are stuck in a place that we can not move on. Many people who should vote are saying instead, “If the politicians have not figured out by now that the American people want results without debt, nothing we say or do can make a difference,” To not show up to vote, only worsens the pessimism when we do not believe in or act on” Democracy as it stands” and do not exercise our privilege to vote. “Once burnt, twice wiser” should be the battle call of us all.

For 5 generations now, my family just as many of yours’, have left behind friends, family and home and moved to the area of their ultimate success. Many of us got burnt on a home that we should never have bought, either because of our own spending habits, we lost a job,our health forced us into retirement, or because of the greed of both ourselves as well as business associates or elected officials. We readily listened to and accepted their terms, when we knew better. This happened and existed for generations before us, as well. Todays housing market problems may exist for other reasons but rarely can any of us plan on retiring from the same company we started out with today as we did in the past and receive the gold watch. That is the fact.

When our ancestors reached America, it did not immediately mean wealth nor escape from meager wages. It took a lot of sweat equity for them to build a place they called home. We are the off spring that learned many years ago that the need to move to where the jobs and freedom were, was going to mean losing homes, friends, and leaving behind family. Whether it was immigrating to America, the Fall of the stock market, the Great Depression, or the dirty thirties all our families have been effected by, greed, weather conditions, and a falling market.

Even with the current debt crises we are in, it still does not rank with the hardships many others are facing around the world. The people in America, that move ahead and accept that as fact, at this point, will be the people who gain from doing so. Some may have to travel back across the same Ocean that their ancestors traveled generations ago, in order to find employment in their field, and return a few years later to work. Many college graduates work in other fields from which they do not get their degrees, but education itself, will open the doors for them over those that do drop out.

If we vote for the candidates that want to return to the Bush-era politics, believe those that are paid to lie, complain, and hate the most, against their competition, or takes in the most special interests money to support their anti-campaign, we are sending the message that we accept that type of campaigning. We would rather blame them, than get off our duffs and make the personal changes in our politics as well as our own lives that need making.

If you feel you are doing everything already then ask yourself, what more can you do, to make this time of crises turn from negative to positive. Families have not felt entitlement to remain in the same area as they were born, now, for generations. What makes us feel so entitled to? Yes there was greed and plenty of fault to go around but that was then and now we must move ahead, having been the wiser for it.

Just as many of the breadbasket people who moved to the area found out in the dirty thirties, no occupation, including farming is forever. Many hooked up and loaded very little of what they had and headed to the areas that word had spread they were hiring. Sad was the days that they would arrive to find themselves too late for the few available jobs and more starvation but persevere, they did.

They used their ingenuity and skills and made another, better life, for themselves. They did not wait for government to make and find jobs for them while they yelled about government being too big and too far in debt. True, the Roosevelt decisions did turn around the economy through the government injection of both money and jobs but many others started over without government help.

How can we now possibly have it both ways, as long as most of us reject it or scream about the debt? Do you want jobs or do you want debt? unfortunately, before we can work on both, people and Corporations will need to start hiring and spending. Sometimes when people do start over they become amazed that they waited so long to get started. In all kinds of economies many of us enter the job market,” low man/woman” down, despite our level of education.

It is in how rapid we rise or get back up after we have fallen, that will prove our own ability. We can do the same, once we recognize the part of the Country or World, that is hiring and has not been effected nearly as hard as the area you are in has. American business. like all other Countries, in the World Trade Unions is now scattered worldwide as are the jobs. Vote Nov. 2nd.

Until people and corporations once more start spending money the job market will remain slow to non-existent regardless of which party we elect or re-elect on November 2nd. Much to our credit, we the consumer, are paying off debt and adding to savings at a much greater rate than in the past. Corporations are also sitting on cash and will not start hiring again until we start spending again so it becomes a vicious cycle of self-inflicted unemployment.

The job market also is being complicated by the number of jobs that are being eliminated by the current administration due to the waste factor in government. While cleaning up the areas of unnecessary hires and eliminating fraud and or repetitiveness in the system people are being laid off from their government jobs. Add to that, the huge drop in college graduates, as versus the 1980′s, as well as the increase in highschool drop-outs, and jobs that have left America never to return, and the realty is that unemployment probably never will drop below 5% again.

I would not be surprised if people would check amongst their own families they would find that they have at least one member that has been drawing unemployment even though they have been offered decent jobs but have refused them in order to remain on the unemployment files.

Some also refuse to accept jobs as they feel the work is beneath their skill or education level. People still do not understand that the college degree rarely gives them a starting job in the field they chose but rather opens the door for them to begin in another field that is currently hiring. (that was the purpose of taking all the courses that did not apply to their field of study) Most college graduates will still need to begin at entry level. Some adults also feel as long as they can live at home and mooch off of Mom and Dad, while drawing unemployment, they do not find the incentive to take a job they feel over qualified to take. They simply could work but choose to draw unemployment instead.

The other thing is the generation that is now learning, as many of the baby boomers did, people are being laid off or forced into retirement at 50 or 55. Many of these people incorrectly assumed, as did many of my generation, they would work until they were 65 and then retire with the gold watch. There has been no loyalty in Corporate America for years now and for some reason that always seems to come as a surprise to people who are between 45 and 50. Many times they remain on the unemployed list until they do realize that they are now retired and need to find a different field or begin their own business if they wish to continue working.

I genuinely do feel for the number of people who did prepare and still were hit by debt due to astronomical health bills and a falling market. It is not fun to have to work 2 to 3 jobs at low pay while special interest groups or grassroots organizations are moving to lower minimum wage. Many people are genuinely hurting in this market and do need our concern and efforts to vote responsibly as a result of it. The grid-lock in Washington is only adding to our own negativity along with the fear tactics being used.

Even though unemployment has been greater at different times in our history we have never been so complicated by such debt as we are presently in and that contrasts with the negativity that is politically inspired, as well. Many people will tell us that they personally have not been effected by the crises but they know others that have been.

Not all of us bought houses at an escalated price without being prepared to make payments if we got sick or injured or laid off. There are real opportunities to be made in the current environment for those that did save and did not watch their house values plummet into the basement, and that also adds to the negativity that we feel, if we are near or currently facing foreclosure or fraud in our home loans.

I remember a time that my father’s generation said almost the identical words, we are now hearing, and that is, “We will never recover from debt or our children ever own homes of their own,” following the recessions during the 40′s and 50′s. It was repeated again in the 70′s and 80′s and yet they managed to balance the budget in the 90′s.

Because Americans always have and always will be able to bounce back from adversity and it is.” the darkest before dawn”, I am not yet ready to give up on the amazing spirit of the American people. We simply need to unite and educate ourselves on who is out to repeat the failed programs of the past and who is earnest in replacing them. Not all people in Washington are out to preserve the wealth of the wealthy at an expense to the middle class. At the same token we can not afford another Bush and Cheney failed policy, either. Vote with your brain on November 2nd.

For all people who are employed, “doing as we are told” is a necessary part of our job and unless we follow orders or requirements of the job, most of us will not last long. Also parents that take their responsibility of being parents seriously, must know and understand, that, “doing as they are told”,is necessary discipline for children in order for them to learn the difference between right and wrong and what their duties in the family and society will entail.

As a member of society we will all have rules that tell us what is acceptable and what isn’t acceptable behavior. Most of us will go to the grave having been told what to do by Doctors, lawyers, and bankers, etc. Long story short, none of us will ever reach a point in a civilized world where we will not be, “doing as we are told”, throughout our lifetime.

One of the more amusing statements to come out of the mouth of teenagers is the statement, “I can’t wait until I get out of here and can do what I want to do.” For most of us we will feel this kind of independence only when and if we have planned and been able to succeed at putting together a nest egg for retirement. Even then most of us will be following, “Doctor’s Orders”.

For all the above reasons then, it is necessary that we parents do allow our children the freedom that they are entitled to make in where they will live, eat and sleep the adult years of their lives. Keeping them home and under our wing will only destroy those early years of enthusiasm that we all have before we have good sense.

Todays’ young adults are putting in more hours of work than any generation before them ever have. It is important that they do what they find to be enjoyable to them. All statistics ever done have always shown that: a happy employee is a good employee; a happy person lives longer; a happy person gives of their time and skills more frequently: a happy person is ultimately what we parents that love our children for themselves, should strive for, as it speaks buckets for our own success rate, as parents.

It is important that we parents understand that not all of our children will be college material but some will excel better and be more successful at and in the trades. Others will do better being educated in technology. Whatever they choose they will need our support and certainly not our criticism.

As we become more enlightened, I think most of us understand that we do not own our children. We simply appreciate the time that we have them in our lives and then we do let them spread their wings to make the choices in life that are theirs’ to make. The old days of giving birth to children so they could work the farm or take care of us in old age is losing weight in many cultures. Although laws have been established for the care of the elderly and the responsiblity to the same by their children, most parents do, “reap what they sow” or if you prefer,”what goes around comes around” from their children as they age. The benefits are many once we both understand that respect goes both ways. No one regrets that they didn’t work harder when they come to the last years of their life but many do regret that they didn’t support each other better, on an emotional level.

We must understand that raising our children also includes teaching our children in our homes about compassion, empathy, and responsibility that goes beyond our own nose or door. This appears to be a complaint coming from the media, even though I find more expressions of love, compassion and understanding than less of it, in the younger generations around me that are not part of the young Conservative movement.

I do find more cynical and apathetical behavior in the older generations than I have in the younger groups and this has been the norm with aging from the beginning of time, I would imagine. We teach best by doing and setting the example ourselves. For years parents got by, or thought they did, with the statements,”because I said so” and “do as I say not as I do.” I doubt the statements ever worked then either, but they definitely fail in today’s enlightenment. Our children will often recognize hypocrisy long before we will if they have been allowed to both think for themselves as well as become responsible for their own needs when the time is appropriate.

When we as a family and society learns that “do as we are told” does not apply to wives taking orders from husbands, adult children who have left our home, taking orders from us, or older siblings giving orders to younger siblings who neither live or work for them, then we will at long last, understand what our forefathers intended for Democracy when they wrote, “Freedom and Justice for all.” The messages that are being carried by the young conservative right movements are anything but that. Vote responsibly.
