I'm sure that plays into the politics as well. A woman's word is still suspect yet in 2013 when they are victims of rape and sadly women can sometimes be just as bad or worse than men. Many prosecutors do not want older women on a rape case jury. Men are more likely to believe a woman is raped but they are less likely to believe boys or men are. Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it.

Teenagers do what works for them. Apparently he has learned he does not need to do anything because it will get done for him. Have you tried to play his bluff by saying,"I'll help you pack so you can go live with your dad?" Talk to the School about hiring a student tutor for an hour a day and remain firm in your demands. When he learns he can wear you down he will continue trying to until he realizes you are serious.

Teenagers are suppose to hate their parents. They only appreciate us after they have children of their own. He more than likely argues with you because he knows he gets a rise out of you and ends up getting what he wants and has to do nothing. Let him leave the house in his dirty clothes and the bed undone. When he embarasses himself with his peers he will take care of his own needs. If you provide easy to fix foods that he can fix himself, he will feed himself when he gets hungry. Realize that he will not always perform to your standards but be consistent without name calling or accusations and play his bluff and see if it doesn't work for you.

He may have damaged emotions from a father not being a part of his life and may need to bond with his father or need to talk to a school conselor, or find out for himself that life with Mom was not so bad. We need to let go of our children in order for them to grow up sometimes and face reality. Please know some of what you say is normal in teenagers, period. Most parents fail to understand that teenagers require more sleep than at any other time in their lives and when they do not get it they walk around tired and grumpy. Good Luck and keep reminding him that you love him despite of his behavior..

I got my teenager son involved in activities and camps, so on. But he is still so lazy but does not initiate anything on his own. He is smart (ACT 35) but he has no drive. When I try to talk to him he shuts me off. Whenever I stepped back to see if he took charge he failed each time. Missing homework, missing deadlines, losing things and blaming me are all routine for him. He doesn't care. He is a champion of procrastination. Wheneven I remind him he complains bitterly. I am afraid that this bright kid is wasting his life and end up hating me and wants to live with his dad who is equally lazy.

I would refer my readers to my latest post entitled, "Grief And Grieving," as it explains the emotions we feel or go through in order to release the anger and bitterness that comes along with lost. I wrote it with the NewTown murders in mind but it also can apply to lost of any relationship in which we have bonded or the lost of our health,a job, pet,or home. Many times parents also experience these emotions with empty nest syndrome or when a child marries.

When we get stuck in a pattern of hurt covered over by anger then many times our expression of the same evolves into a forever World of hurt being mistaken for anger because in truth we are stuck in anger that almost always continues the hurt; because anger drives away the closest to us, unless we have an understanding friend or a martyr complex
person in our lives. When the anger is covered over by denial then not many people do want to be in the company of an angry person. Where anger is a necessary step in grieving loss, if prolonged it only hurts us more.

Hate most often arrives from anger from a time in our life when we have assumed another should behave or believe as we do, and as I mentioned in the above article, it most commonly is as a result of ignorance. Communication is such a necessary part of releasing hate as unless we communicate our own emotions and work through the process where we are capable of forgiveness, we bear an unfair responsibility for the hate that arises in ourselves when we are the one that has been victimized. To hate because of our own ignorance when we have victimized another person or a group of people, has the same effects on us. Hate only hurts us because those who we hate are totally uneffected by our hate while we suffer in lost of health and in the lost of the pursuit of happiness not only for ourselves but for those lives around us who we value the most. I thank you for your comment.

Thank You for your generous comment. It is my fond hope that we do take a look at our own motives and heal from the negative aspects that we to frequently allow to control our own life, while we learn to let the positive parts of our own personality, that which we all possess, shine through. When we realize 99% of what we obsess over or get upset about, are many times our own assumptions or judgements against others' failure to respond as we wish, then we can better understand our own role in our life and hopefully all smile at our own foolishness.

I have made many trips to Texas and known many friendly people who are very kind in the State. When we had cattle fed in the State, we were offered so much hospitality that it was almost impossible to do the other things we wanted to do. I know it is not all oil fields or large amounts of wealth, nor do I hold it's politicians against the fine people of Texas.

Where ever we hail from,we all share the same goal of striving for finding individual happiness. I simply try to remind my readers to look for and seek out the genuineness of humanity in themselves before they judge the lack of it in others.

I feel that unless and until that same genuineness comes through with the inclusiveness of equal rights for all of our people, then our politicians will continue to fail us, as well. Again thank you for your generous comment. It is always welcoming to me when my readers understand my efforts to unite us. You made me smile and I thank you for doing so! Never doubt the value of a compliment---chuckle

There are a number of reasons people vote Republican:their parents or husband were Republican,They are Students in Business that have been taught the value of Capitalism over government, they don't have a clue what each Party represents or they think there is no difference between Parties, they believe the attack ads that run on television and the media and is spun by the News agencies, people of Religion are told right-wing politicians are their protectors against the liberals and they get bombarded with sermons, pamphlets, videos, and phone calls telling them things like out Democrat President Obama was born in Kenya and not in the USA and because they have all been told this enough times they start believing it. Two out of Five people who identify themselves as Republicans believe that Our President could have been President for four years and still are ignorant enough or out of touch enough with our political system that they believe it is true.

Too many people on the right of politics have been told that Democrats are all liberals and as such responsible for our climbing deficit. They believe being liberal interfers with their right to worship because they have been told that for generations. They believe our Democrat President OBama is a Liberal even when he fights for them. Although our President Obama is fighting for the middle class and poor, because he is not right wing, he is suspect to them. They believe he will bankrupt America in his efforts to fight the Greed of the Republican Party who protects Capitalism.

The Republican Party has convinced too many that regulations that holds check and balances in place is causing the deficit to grow higher when in truth it is the greed under the protectionism of Capitalism by the Republican Party that is responsible for the deficit. President Obama is a Democrat who fights for the poor and middle class to improve their status over that of the greed of Capitalism taking place while giving nothing back.

People are paid to make films on U-tube, this year they have made several movies attacking our President and people get bombarded with lies through both the media and entertainment. When they hear the opposite and the truth they have been told many times the truth are the lies while the lies are the truth on both the blog-o-sphere and Conservative air ways.

In America self expression is protected by free speech and even when they are told lies, people will believe them. We have many groups in America of both persuasions but especially of the Conservative right who will lie to people of Faith and they never question them because they are one of them so they believe them. Others like the look of a candidate and vote for that reason while bigotry against color, gender identity, women, and religions is alive and healthy in America and we like all Countries will always have those who are ignorant and vote the same way. Too many people are told to vote against their own best interests by people who they trust and will follow blindly. Other times people will vote Republican against their own best interests because the very regulations that protects them by government, becomes the mundane of their jobs.

It has been said that Abraham Lincoln was so ugly that if he ran today he would never win. Finally the Republican Party was at one time concerned about the needs of the people and acted accordingly: such as Republican Bob Dole supplying food subsidies to the Churches to feed the poor and being the author of Food stamps that helped many get through difficult periods of time. It was mainly done to help Agriculture because agriculture was in the tank due to a wheat embargo placed on Russia by the Republican majority but all the same the Republican Party before the Tea Party joined its rank and the majority turned Conservative, use to be able to make Capitalism work for the people.

Today's Republican Party has one goal in mind under the leadership of a powerful person bent on shrinking goverment to half the size it is and turning the government wealth over to Capitalism at a great risk and harm to the American People and unless we wake up as a Country and know that this Republican Party is not your Dad's Republican Party, Americans will lose too much and find themselves loaded with debt and inequality.

The far left Liberals which President Obama is not a member of but gets accused of, believed that all Americans were entilted to own homes under the Dodd/Frank Plan and it did great damage to our housing market and created a bubble that led many people to own a home who had no business of owning homes they could not afford or their credit ratings were too poor to past the test of today's regulations placed back in place by President Obama. Because the Republicans also believed that Banks would profit as a result of these poor loans they did not prevent it from taking place but encouraged lifting the restrictions on Banks so they could make these loans.

As a result of greed, the banking Industry needed to be bailed out since they do determine our economy and if they cannot make loans our speculative trade fails. They proved in the meantime that they cannot loan money, however without regulations, because they proved the fallacy of paper collateral over real collateral and that dice throwing is far more destructive to our economy than anything else they do and since men like Trump has made his fortune without real collateral he promotes the lies of the far right in America.

The banks have since paid back those loans and Wall Street is prospering even with regulations. President Obama placed restriction on the banks for all the reason most of us do understand, but many feel these restrictions are unfair to smaller banks. President Obama has since tried to lift these regulations on small banks but it was not done soon enough after he took office because he was left with problems much larger than what any other Presidents faced before him so it got filibustered by a Republican majority in Congress who has held it hostage and had replaced a Democrat majority, when President Obama did attempt to lift regulations on smaller banks who were not a part of the greed.

Our system is not perfect and our President has made some mistakes but in an effort to correct them he needs four more years to do so with a demand being placed on the Republican majority in Congress who stands in the way of the corrections and improvement of jobs and equality that President Obama fights for, while the Republicans refuse to do their job.

We the people hopefully will send the Republicans the message that in America we are in control of the greed of Congress, in this election. Americans also must support an ever ready military that many other Countries depend on by doing away with out-dated weaponry while President Obama fights to keep our military fit and ready, and the Republican Party fights our President on every move he makes in the best interests of the American people as well as our allies. Many of us do want to keep our President and improve his ability to finish the job he has started by getting the Republicans out of his way in this election.

In short, Americans are impatient and do not understand the system well enough to give it time to work. Too many have the attitude "Politics bores me," and they will vote while terribly uninformed anyway even though they are totally ignorant of the truth and when they do research there are 2 to 1 web sites loaded down with the same lies that they have been told is the truth by places like Fox News,Christian Broadcasting, Twitter and Facebook, or their Daddy voted Republican so they vote Republican generation after generations.

We have too many generations on the top of the food chain of "me first" and "me now" followed by "what are you going to do for me" and instant gratification, in my opinion today. While those who get poorer do not always understand that it is not only a privilege but also a responsibility to vote intelligently. Too many fail to question a one-sided Republican philosophy of "Trickle Down Economics", while the Republicans attempt to remove regulations that keeps our system in checks and balances and eliminates greed, that has been promoted by every Republican for the last thirty years, not only is the greatest failure of American Economy but makes the Rich richer while the middle class and poor falls further into poverty.

Mitt Romney is just another Republican promoting the same failed philosophy with the support of the Tea Party that does not believe that a middle class or Democracy was meant to be a part of the Constitution or American's Free trade. This philosophy has created great tumult and financial crises under a decade of Republican rule.

I cannot stress enough that the growing majority of American voters do understand the failures of Republican philosophy and will work over time to see it gets defeated at the election polls in November. Wish us Good Luck! Thank you for your comments and I hope this helps explain.

I'm sorry Lars but I had to delete your last two comments as I was informed that they were blocking my American readers from getting through and since this is a very important election for Americans I hope you understand by reasoning behind doing so. Thanks again for your comments and I do hope that President Obama wins,as well as do many in America and around the World. I do know that Denmark does have a higher minimum wage and a fairly steady economy because you are much more liberal in your views as well as you pay for and support all the needs of all the people and it makes your economy one of the more profitable in Europe. If it helps, many Americans think we need to raise our taxes as well.

Today’s Republican Party has one goal in mind under the leadership of a powerful person bent on shrinking goverment to half the size it is and turning the government wealth over to Capitalism at a great risk and harm to the American People and unless we wake up as a Country and know that this Republican Party is not your Dad’s Republican Party, Americans will lose too much and find themselves loaded with debt and inequality.

The far left Liberals which President Obama is not a member of but gets accused of, believed that all Americans were entilted to own homes under the Dodd/Frank Plan and it did great damage to our housing market and created a bubble that led many people to own a home who had no business of owning homes they could not afford or their credit ratings were too poor to past the test of today’s regulations placed back in place by President Obama.

Too many have the attitude “Politics bores me,” and they will vote while terribly uninformed anyway even though they are totally ignorant of the truth and when they do research there are 2 to 1 web sites loaded down with the same lies that they have been told is the truth by places like Fox News,Christian Broadcasting, Twitter and Facebook, or their Daddy voted Republican so they vote Republican generation after generations.

We have too many generations on the top of the food chain of “me first” and “me now” followed by “what are you going to do for me” and instant gratification, in my opinion today. While those who get poorer do not always understand that it is not only a privilege but also a responsibility to vote intelligently. Too many fail to question a one-sided Republican philosophy of “Trickle Down Economics”, while the Republicans attempt to remove regulations that keeps our system in checks and balances and eliminates greed, that has been promoted by every Republican for the last thirty years, not only is the greatest failure of American Economy but makes the Rich richer while the middle class and poor falls further into poverty.

Mitt Romney is just another Republican promoting the same failed philosophy with the support of the Tea Party that does not believe that a middle class or Democracy was meant to be a part of the Constitution or American’s Free trade.

I’m sorry Lars but I had to delete your last two comments as I was informed that they were blocking my American readers from getting through and since this is a very important election for Americans I hope you understand by reasoning behind doing so.

Hi Catsnjammer64,
Being a foreigner and thus a stranger to American politics it´s wonderfull to read goodies like yours.
I have one question, that is if you have the time and energy. How come that great part of the middleclass vote GOP when clearly (to me, that is) they thereby provide billion dollar suppluses to everybody else than themselves?
Greetings,
