Today I will offer my own opinion along with established fact that leads me personally to believe what the problem is behind the increase in murder/suicide in America.

We are second in the World in front of other advanced Nations after Montenegro in  percentage of suicides, where such records are kept.  When we think of ourselves as the Nation that people from other Countries want to immigrate to, we have to ask ourselves as to why our suicides are so high?

We  again begin with the N.R.A. interference into gun registration and add to that Americans’ love of the gun and its accessibility to people in America.  When the NRA not only fights against gun laws but also fights against people having to show proof of the lack of mental illness or treatment for depression when buying a gun, then guns end up in the hands of too many people who should never own guns.  They spend millions in litigation to fight privacy laws in favor of gun ownership. With the sponsorship of gun shows by the NRA across the Nation that require no waiting period what-so-ever and the illegal guns of street sales, America is flooded with guns.

Living in the land of guns and honey brings along with it the stress that often goes along with keeping up with the Jones. People do not miss that which they cannot hold, own, or goes unseen in their lives. American workers work longer hours in more extended days straight than any other Nation in the World.  We have fewer and less holiday and vacation days of any other Civilized Nation. We out work all other Nations in the World. Todays’s workers work longer hours than any generation has before them.

A person who struggles to feed their family or to provide basics are not nearly as likely to feel that they are missing out as those who are accustomed to getting what they want over what they need.  If we have paid attention to school shootings at all, we must have noticed that the majority of these children are white males who come from upper middle class or wealthy homes when murder/suicide does occur. It is much easier never to have had it than it is to have had it and to lose.   Americans many times marry their jobs since they spend many more hours on the job than they do at home, and when they find their jobs pulled out from underneath them it can and does trigger murder/suicide in the work place.

We are a Capitalist Society that invests in trade over the needs of the people. We are the only civilized Nation in the World that does not pay the entire healthcare costs of 100% of its people but yet we remain the richest Nation in the World. We  subsidize commerce to a far greater degree than do all other Nations just as our costs of the greatest military in the World cost 10 times more that what the rest of the World combined pays to maintain a defense system.

We live under stress every day of the week and often with wants that we either can’t provide for or feel we need. Many of us have not learned to make sacrifices now in order to enjoy life later. The exposure to goods in America, technology, clothing stores, and all other retail stores leave us wanting or feeling we are being denied.

With the breaking of the backs of our Unions across America by men like Sam Adelson who has vowed millions to eliminate them and the Tea Party Governors along with Republican legislatures  supporting the right to work laws without the same coming up for vote in our States, the middle class are dropping $5500.00 per year. Despite the facts, 47% of the American people who are primarily middle class voted to guard the gate of the 1% by voting Republican in our past elections. Stress in America is the number one killer because of the message driven home by too many for the need to own more, at the expense of the middle class.

When we started closing down mental Institutions because of the absolute abuse that was triggered by the lack of laws protecting our citizens, we went the other way and left our loved ones defenseless when it came to getting help for mental illness.

Previously to closing down the mental Institutions across America and the passage of the Equal rights amendment husbands could declare their wives unfit to raise the children and have her committed without even a record of instability. The husbands word alone was enough and many times he could get a Dr. to agree to the same without even seeing the woman. People who suffered from vision or hearing loss or were slow learners were committed into Institutions.  When the laws were lax towards those who could commit others, so much abuse reigned across America that it led to shutting them all down.

We are now in a cycle where those who are desperate for need of treatment for mental illness cannot get the help they need.  It is too easy to prescribe drugs without any follow-up or counseling.  Some general practitioners along with chiropractors, will prescribe both narcotics and antidepressants that lead to both aggression as well as further anxiety and depression.  In America if a person knows the right people or wants to find someone who will prescribe or supply drugs or guns all things are possible.  It only takes money to get whatever an American citizen wants both legally and illegally.

Even with good counseling and a drug plan that works parents cannot force adult children to remain on their treatment program.  The very symptom of some of the most grievous of diseases that lead to bouts of severe depression is that the patient will be made to feel better and believe that they can quit treatment which only aggravates the disease and makes it worse.

Drugs are readily available in America to both Street people and those who start out life as high achievers.  We are a Country that has a high tolerance for both guns and drugs while our Conservative politicians appear to be against the same with public messages over the years. They in reality will never face off against the lobbyists or the NRA who put millions into their pockets for re-election. Illicit drugs in America makes up 33% of our Gross National Product. Many killings in America are as a result of the flow of illegal drugs and the need to protect the distribution of the same.

We have 17 Republican controlled States that have passed the “Stand Your Ground Laws” with 6 more States discussing arming teachers. Too many amongst us have no concept of the danger of guns because it has been romanticized as part of our culture and of the old Wild West. When these same States are talking about arming teachers they are ignoring that any gun on school property is susceptible to causing collateral damage even in the hands of trained policemen.  They also are denying that even guns that are safe guarded in schools can be easily over taken by the gangs of bullies who often hang out in our school systems and intimidate teachers. When sliding steel pocket doors that close instantaneously and are impenetrable to those who threaten entry  from the outside are being used in facilities across the World the mentality of the American mind instead goes to more guns to protect against guns.

When people who suffer from mental illness are not confined for their own good or their own needs because Insurance Companies refuse to pay and  Obama care is ridiculed and fought against in sectors in fits of rage, then we leave ourselves and our loved ones vulnerable to the stresses and ills along with fits of depression that can and do lead to suicide. Instead of treating our mentally ill and  drug addicts we imprison them.

Any Nation of wealth encompasses people who make comparisons because too many times the politicians themselves will belittle or blame the have-nots while promoting those who have. The Republican Party appeared to accelerate that belief this past election with attacks against the poor in their own leadership and the need to adopt the Ryan Plan in order to deny the needs or in most cases the rights of the people. When those who are feeling rejected from loss of jobs and incomes, or are being bullied by others, are made to find their own uniqueness a fault rather than a plus, we leave open the potential to not only suicide but we harbor those who would take down our children with them.

We are a Society who puts too much importance and stress on the things we own, on beauty, skin color, appearance, money, and popularity. We encourage sameness or like beliefs, over encouraging individual expression.  We too often fail to encourage value in the uniqueness of each individual to express that uniqueness but instead demand that we all share the same belief system. Those who fail to fit into a cli’que of like mentality are often shunned, ridiculed, and bullied.  We support violence in the games we play and the movies we watch.  The movie industry knows and understands that movies without sex or violence will too often fail at attendance and revenues.

Our educational system is not supported by the Conservative causes and ranks low in comparison to other civilized Nations as a result of it. Bright children are too often criticized for their superior intelligence and not supported by a system that inspires them up to their abilities to succeed, due to limited funds granted to the School districts in our States. To many amongst us push our children in all categories that will gain them popularity over education and in doing so, to often it leads to mediocrity while insisting they excel in sports.  When highschool coaches feel that winning is the only thing that will save their jobs they offer steroids and muscle enhancers to their young players and it starts a panacea of corruption in our sports’ programs. The stress to always have more and to do better leads us in advancement in many fields in the world,  but it also breeds the ravages of failure, in those who feel as though they cannot achieve or have been left behind.

We self medicate on drugs and alcohol to cover up feelings of inadequacy or pain, because we place a astigmatism against mental illness. We do not tolerate those who expose our own weaknesses. The people who cause such carnage as was done in NewTown Connecticut, are usually those who are coming down off of a bad drug trip, are feeling neglected, powerless, weak,or worthless. Behind a gun they feel omnipotent and powerful and ready to show others who they often feel have either ignored them or made them to feel less of the person than they are.

We as a Society ignore and deny the power of the gun in the hands of those who would not otherwise kill, because of the control of the N.R.A. in our Nation or the fear tactics used against us to protect ourselves. They are not the only ones who use fear tactics as home alarm companies call and exaggerate home invasions in areas where none exist along with those who promote gun sales and under ground bunkers. The home alarm companies calls are being made in homes illegally as I have received the same  even though I am on the government “Do not call list.” They get around the law by claiming to offer a free prize. People rush gun stores and buy military weapons that have no business in any of our homes each time they think they will be denied their guns by law.

Those who act out in total disregard of human life do so because they lack empathy for anyone but themselves or they feel disrespected. In neighborhoods where drugs are sold on street corners, others die over drug sales. Others feel that they have been so ridiculed that they can only seek justice behind a gun. They may suffer from irrational beliefs  but they know full well that they will leave behind pain and destruction. Many times they feel that they will be a person whose name will go down in history as having made a difference, while knowing full well the misery they cause.  We as a Nation have romanticized people like Jesse James,Billy the Kid, Bonney and Clyde, Annie Oakley and other outlaws of the old West as heroes over generations, and in doing so we have romanticized the use of the gun to settle disputes.

Those who cause a silent suicide or one that does not draw attention to the outside World often do so because they are suffering, or cannot face the future, or feel that they are a burden on their loved ones.  Others are fearful of the future because they become so steeped in Religious conviction of Armageddon, or that God wants them or their children saved  from a sinful World, or suffer severe mental illness to the point they hear voices from the devil to kill. Other suicide/murders are committed over child custody or domestic disputes when they have access to a gun. Often times those who are afraid that they are lacking because Societal norms do not accept them for the person they are, will feel that life is not worth living or are driven by the need to gain revenge and do not consider the pain they leave behind because the act of murder/suicide itself, is most often an act of “Me Only.”

People who are sensitive to those who criticize, and often times are made to feel they are inadequate or weak are made to feel powerful behind the gun. It is just as likely to be a meek personality as it is an aggressive personality that uses a gun to kill.  America has 18,000 suicides a year where other Civilized Nations, who keep records of suicide, do not reach higher than into the 200′s. In total of murders and suicides we have 32,000 people lost each year. All other advanced Nations who have a much lower suicide and murder rate offer free mental health services that give parents more control over the treatment of mental health and much stricter gun laws.  It does not take a rocket Scientist to understand why America excels in the numbers of suicides and murders over all other advanced Nations in the World

Along with the greatest Democracies in the World comes the freedom to misuse that freedom through both abuse of others and self-inflicted wounds. With freedom comes the need to protect its citizens through just laws.  Americans should have a much greater right to live over the right to own guns.  We need to do a better job in understanding that our people as well as our children should never have to feel that they are less than the need or greed of Capitalism in a free Society. If we keep electing a Republican majority in Congress and in our States, who refuses to act in the best interests of our people, then don’t we have some responsibility to bear for the same? We are coming out lacking as a Nation because of our own lack of demand and insistence on the fact that our politicians can do better.

It brings some comfort to me to see that at long last we have hope at least that those responsible will do something but the proof still remains in the pudding. I long for the days when we can again promote the many qualities of all of the American people who are supported by all of our elected politicians, instead of a few.  America is still the best Country in the World but we need to be honest about our faults in order to make much-needed changes. May all of our politicians be strong enough to stand up against the lobbyists and brave enough to bring forth all the good qualities that are representative of America.  Wishing all of us hope this Holiday Season!

Webster dictionary describes genuine as actually having the reputed or apparent qualities or character.  To many times we have people using words to describe others when they do not own or practice the qualities needed to possess or own character, themselves.  It was a repeated error made by candidates for election throughout the Nation this past election year.

When Governor Chris Christy of New Jersey showed his own Party what real character was or expressed genuine feelings in his praise of President Barack Obama’s quick response to the disaster in his State, due to the hurricane, men who like to refer to  themselves, as men who protect the standards of family values in America, criticized Christy for being genuine in his complement to our President.

When we as a Nation have leaders who criticize others who are genuine or fail to compliment others and treat it as a heresy when they compliment  or speak to a member of the opposite side of the aisle, can we really expect them to do what is genuinely in the best interests of those of us who are in need of their leadership?  Will men like Paul Ryan,Scott Walker, or Rubio, meeting and discussing the need of the Republican Party to become inclusive of the Hispanics, lead us to believe that they are genuine if they continue to vote against the equal rights of women to make decisions on their own procreation or to their own health, or when their Republican members in Washington filibusters immigration reform?

Are these, the often spoken about, the young new hopefuls of the Republican Party, any better than what has destroyed the “Grand Old Party?”When they speak about the Americans who fall on hard times as being the “takers”, while they vote against the needs of the people or refer to those of us who paid into government as, “people with their hands out who feel entitled”,or try to pass laws against victims of rape in defining legitimate rape, will we see any genuine change in the Republican Party when these young men are chosen to lead our Nation?

Doesn’t the Republican Party need men in it instead like Bob Dole who was genuine in his actions towards the disabled, the poor, and the need of the Republican Party to know and understand the needs of the people?  Aren’t these new young Tea Party members only an extension of what is wrong in the Republican Party?  Aren’t we the American People totally tired of words that are opposite of the actions they practice when it comes to voting against our rights and needs?

Too many times in our own personal lives we make allowances for those who practice disingenuous behavior because they are the beautiful people, the most charming of our children or friends, or because we want to be more like them or a part of their group. The new generation just wants to be respected by their parents instead. When we ourselves are less than genuine it shows all over our bodies and faces to those of us who recognize phony or shallow values.

When these politicians do the same, too many people, who are less than honest themselves, will be taken in by those who are not genuine. I once had a person tell me that my biggest problem was that I was too moral for the group as they did not place a high value on morality.  Isn’t that also at the root of why we keep electing people who are less than genuine in their leadership? I applaud the American people who did not accept or support the practice of lies , that won these men the elections in our States and Washington in 2010.

Have we forgotten already the way they won or their legislation that brought in the right to work laws that eliminated our protection from the Unions against unfair labor laws?  Will we forget the bills that they tried to pass against a woman’s right to choose or the involvement of the Tea Party militia in hate groups?  Will the Corporate Press be able to convince us of all the wonders done by these men of the future who stormed our States in 2010 and began laying off teachers, firemen and police while decreasing the wages of the workers?

When Republicans are promoted to run in the highest office of the land in 2014 and 2016 by the GOP, will we forget that they have been less than genuine in their practice towards the needs of the middle class when it came to an economic recovery and of giving us real jobs with fair hours and wages? Will we forget the passage of the right to work laws that denied the American workers and their Unions the right to vote because 27 States had Republican governors who were financed by the Koch Brothers? Didn’t many of the Republican governors lie to the people while they denied the workers their right to Democracy? Isn’t this currently  happening with Republican Governor Rick Snyder in Michigan?   Don’t these Governors represent the future of the Republican Party and the mentality of the Tea Party while the wages of the middle class continue to decline but the wealth of the rich increases two-fold?

Despite their argument that without the right to work laws corporations fail to move to their States and that these laws release people from having to join the Unions; they fail to say that Federal law already states people who do not want to join a Union need not do so.  These Republicans offer absolutely no proof of the truth in their Statements.  There is a simple explanation for the same and that is because there is no proof in what they state.  The proof that does exist is that the average worker’s income drops by $5500.00 per year along with benefits while their working conditions worsen.

The Corporations continue to win while the workers continue to lose is the fact with the right to work laws and there is no proof when 22 States have adopted these laws that corporations do move in. Why should they change from the States they already do set up residence in, when the majority if not all of the Red States where these laws have passed previously, have always offered corporate welfare to Corporations previously to these laws being passed in swing States? Are we the middle class foolish enough to believe that these Corporations will give up all their bread and honey, along with their facilities, equipment and trained staffs in the Red States in order to take less in the swing States?
If they should happen to move to the swing States, which is unrealistic, how much more concessions and job lost do we think it will cost the middle class workers? Would the workers in the Red States continue to believe that they lost their jobs, health care, and pensions because they were taken over by vulture Capitalists in the claim their Company was losing money? Don’t we already know the truth is that the greed of the Republican Party along with the greed of Wall Street is responsible for job lost over job gain?  What will it take for all Americans to understand this concept?
Michigan Republican Governor,Rick Snyder, like so many other Republican Governors in 21 other States, totally ignored the right of the workers to vote when the polls showed that only 6% of the people in the State of Michigan favored this move. Many in the Red States do not even know if they are a right to work State because they have such a heavily backed Republican legislature along with a conservative media, who does not keep them informed.

Do we feel that the current Republican Party is genuine in their representation of the truth when it comes to balancing the budget and avoiding the fiscal cliff in Washington? The truth is that the Tea Party members have dug in their heals again, just as they did the last time, and refuse to accept President Obama’s proposal of at least lowering the taxes on those who make less than $250,000. and John Boehner, is blaming President Obama instead of himself when it is his job to lead his own Party as Speaker of the House in Congress. They all appear on camera instead for their photo opts and profess in unison that the problem is that President Obama has sent them nothing while they reject his offer of cutting 4 trillion dollars and raising the taxes on the wealthy.  The only thing they seem to be able to agree on is to lie in unison to the American people. They began as “the Do Nothing Congress and they will finish out the four years” as the same.

Are they any different from the Republican Governors in our States? Have we already forgotten their 100 plus filibuster attempts against the middle class that would have protected the needs of the people and gave jobs to the same over their protection of Corporate? Don’t we realize their main goal was to make certain that President Barack Obama was a one term President?  Do we really believe that these same men will now compromise in order to keep the economy improving when they have fought against President Barack Obama’s attempts to do the same in the past?

With all their excuses as to why they lost just how genuine are they in understanding their need to be all-inclusive of the American people?  Is it just another example of empty words on their part? Does our own belief system fail us when we are asked  to remember the behavior directed against us by them? Do we learn to hate others who do us no harm, because we have a genuine belief system that tells us that hate is acceptable? Does our own belief system excuse us from making excuses for ourselves instead of taking action?

Is our problem that we long- ago lost touch with practicing any kind of value system based on genuine values, ourselves? Do we have a clue what we believe when we are called on to fight for the same?  Do we believe instead what we have been told to believe so we go into denial when we see or hear a real lack of sincerity in the same? Are those who promote family values, actually those who talk about values but find morality too difficult to maintain themselves?  We need to be interested in politics and the history of our politicians if we are to hold them and ourselves to a higher standard.

When we fail to hold those who would lead us to higher standards, it is we who lose.  This is true when it comes to raising our children and in teaching them right from wrong because we practice what we preach.  When we fail to make morality a priority in our own life the first to understand that our words do not match our actions, are our children.

Many a straying spouse does not just prove to their spouse that they are not trustworthy but they also teach their children that adults cannot be trusted or the person they most admire lacks morality when it comes to being an adult. Many children will turn a deaf ear to what they feel is nothing more than gibberish when they recognize that the behavior of the adult in their lives does not match the words they speak. Sadly, others will emulate the same behavior when they become adults but they will many times prove to their parents that they can do a better job of failing  than what their parent or parents did when it comes to being less than genuine.

When we talk about how busy we are but our children never see us get off the couch they believe the ”busy talk” in us is less than genuine.   When  our children’s  needs to be disciplined go unprovided for, but are replaced by wants instead, we raise children who grow up feeling entitled without them making any efforts towards justifying the same in themselves; too often some will adopt a grandiose image of themselves while being totally void of human empathy for others while they often lack the understanding of what it takes to be ambitious.  If we never teach our children to take genuine responsibility for their own behavior or to care for their own needs in the home, but instead we make excuses for them or wait on them, we deny them the right to find genuine satisfaction in their own accomplishments.

When children are left untrained and untaught they often grow up fearful of being independent from us or to immature to leave home and to form their own belief system.  If we always treat work as something to be dreaded, we teach our children to be lazy instead. Too often we adults will go into denial before we accept the truth of the fact that our child’s behavior is out of control. The lives our children live while they watch us, when it fails to match the genuineness of the words we speak, often leads to denial in us and confusion in our children.

This is true about any behavior or words that leave our lips.  When we are less than genuine the first to accept it as being normal behavior in adults, are our children.  The fact that the youth vote went over whelmingly for President Barack Obama should show all of us who fear the “Me first and now” traits in the youth vote, that we are dead wrong in our judgements. Just as sometimes  the callous of heart appear to belong to the Tea Party or National Rifle Ass., we totally over look the value in the young who would put many of our generations to shame. President Ronald Regan means nothing to them and invoking his name did nothing towards winning their votes.

We forget that this generation of young people learned from us not to trust. When one out of every three homes on the block experience some form of  abuse in it, they have learned that they cannot trust adults to protect them.  We cannot turn around and place the blame on them without taking our share of the blame and pretend to begin to solve the problems that we face as a Nation, while talking about family values,if we do not understand that as adults our generations were far from perfect,as well.

The 1950′s were anything but what they have been romanticized to be but instead were hidden under the lies of injustice and under the veil of secrecy. The same environment allowed for the inhumane and violence of the Jim Crow laws to continue unchecked along with the violence and inequality of not just the tragedies of those laws but also the lack of laws that protect women and children against extreme abuse.

Those who would advocate the return to the 1950′s are not being fully cognizant or honest of the hardships and lack of humanity of the era.  When we fail to act out of genuine concern for all of our people, ourselves, we are certain to elect officials who would ignore the tragedies of the era,and instead repeat a history of genuine injustice. We as a Nation cannot return to a time of ignorance and injustice but we need to move forward by electing legislatures who  protect all Americans by making certain that the laws protect our children regardless of race, creed, gender or gender orientation, who are the most vulnerable amongst us. The spread of half truths and ignorance only makes hate breed.

Just as those who are aware of past injustices, and fight against the return to the same, we need to acknowledge in more recent times our children were victims of their babysitters, Ministers, coaches, and Priests, others their uncles, neighbors or Boy Scouts leaders, still others their step fathers, dads or mothers, others grew up with drugged, beaten,or alcoholic parents, and still others were prostituted by their own parents. They were warned about pedophiles and terrible behavior in adults that many of our generations were not aware of even existing.

Much of this same behavior happened throughout previous generations as well, but when it is kept as a secret in the closet to take to the grave we grew up being told it was our sin to bear and an isolated happening or worse yet, normal behavior, to practice as adults ourselves.  In keeping the secrets of those we were led to believe we should emulate, we lived our lives in turmoil being convinced we were the demon seed, where as todays generation understands that it is not their fault but the fault of the adult, once they are of voting age. This behavior is not limited to poor neighborhoods but happens on every block regardless the socio-economic conditions.

Many of our young people grew up to find their Sports heroes, steroid addicts or shot or killed in drunken accidents. Others were given drugs by their coaches and told to take it or else.  We adults left them devoid of the heroes we took for granted.  They did not have Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, or Martin Luther King to offer them hope in their lives.  They have no reason to trust the adults in their lives because if they were not victimized they have a friend who was.  They certainly are not going to take a politician’s word for something when their actions are less than genuine and they watched their mom’s work two or sometimes three jobs because they were not paid the wage that their Dad’s were.

They were not bought off as Mitt Romney said with “free birth control” but they have seen too much disingenuous behavior in adults in their lives to be bamboozled by less than genuine politicians. Many of them have no reason to any longer fall for the charismatic who will lie to them.  When abuse was not a part of their life they grew up with the ability to express themselves.

The fortunate ones had parents who encouraged them because they had parents who did or are doing a better job of instilling morality in the next generations than our parents or we did, so the young amongst us who are our future, do recognize the lack of words matching the actions in those who would lead us. It is way past time that we, just as the youth vote does, demand proof of the genuine actions of our politicians to hear us the American Public, and to act as our leaders over lying to us. If the Republican Party continues to fail to understand that their behavior and performance has been exposed and has come out failing,  they will continue to lose elections.

When the Republican Party learns to run legitimate candidates who are genuine in their words matching their actions, then the Grand Old Party will return fully vindicated of its past history and will again be representative of the needs of the people. Talking about it will prove nothing when the conversations are about play acting warm and fuzzy feelings or concerns for the middle class, women, and minorities but their actions taken, prove otherwise.   They cannot deny the voters the truth when their own votes, platform, voter suppression, and actions betray them as less than genuine, nor will it win them votes of the American people.

When the Republicans refuse to accept genuine actions speak to the heart of the youth vote and those votes that they are accustomed of getting, are the votes of the dying generations, then they must change their own actions or become distinct along with the dinosaurs. Unlike those of our generation and before, young people do not buy into the belief that a candidate is a “Nice Young Man”, nor do they vote the way they are told to vote.

Todays’ young people grew up on the internet and are much more likely to check  out the voting records of the candidates  against  their campaign speeches. Bullshippers in politics are on their way out with tomorrow’s voters. The Republicans need much more than empty words or the Hispanic vote in their corner and in most cases, they are assuming that the Hispanics have a short memory and are not computer savvy as well.  No one takes the privilege of voting more seriously than an immigrant, denied.

I wish all of us the appreciation of having genuine people in our lives who surround us this Holiday Season.  May we all be so Blessed as to attract the same with our own honesty while understanding the need of it in all of our own lives. The Holiday Season is not about making comparisons with our neighbors, but about taking pride in the generosity of the American spirit that we helped inspire, while embracing those of us who express the truth of that same spirit.  Celebrate the genuine goodness in all of us by giving of ourselves to what ever Religious or Spiritual belief we hold dear, or as a sign of our genuine love expressed, and give what we can spare to the less fortunate, as a reminder of the real purpose of this Holiday Season.  God bless us all!

In the beginning of mankind it was necessary for us to form together in a herd just as it is for animals to form herds and to gather together in flocks for survival.  A group of people or a tribe could defend against danger or against predators more effectively if they maintained a large group or herd.

They could forage together more effectively for roots, grains and berries, hunting that provided the meat, and gather together for warmth. Absolutely everything was shared by the group with a leader chosen by them to lead and he,because rarely was a woman trusted as a leader, was entitled pretty much  to anything he felt entitled to, as long as he kept the needs of the people first. He would always be served first before the group and any gem stones, feathers,or tools made were presented to him first before the others could share the spoils.  Just as the animal world has a hierarchy so did mankind.

In the animal world the male fights for the position against the weaker and the same was often true in the early days of mankind until after mankind advanced enough to the point that the title of leader was then passed down to the first borned son, generation after generation. Long before there was a government, long before there were Democracies, long before politics and political Parties, long before there was a Republican Party who referred to working together and picking a just leader of the people, who made sure the people were provided for,Socialism; mankind depended on a just and fair leader of the people. The people in return rewarded their leaders, so to declare as Mitt Romney did that the people were jealous of his wealth, made as much sense as too many other ridiculous statements he made in his campaign. In a civilized World today we still need leaders who care as much for the needs of the people as they did then, even though we no longer need to gather together in herds for our survival.

The protests that we often see in the Streets of a free Nation only arise because the people feel that they are being disenfranchised or starved to death by leadership.  The fact that the Republican Party with the help of the media, such as Fox News, only scoffed at the Occupy movement moving across America to stop the greed of the 1% over the needs of the 99%, has a great deal to do with why the Republican Party lost the election this year.  They had become so accustomed to ignoring the needs of the workers that they apparently felt they could run any candidate that they wanted to that would bend to the wishes of the far right and we the poor and middle class would succumb to their wishes because they used the herd mentality against their followers by whipping them into a feeding frenzy against President Obama.

So convinced were they that the deck was stacked in their favor to win that even when they lost Paul Ryan said,”We only lost because of the turn out in the Urban area” while denying they lost 40% of the over 55 vote, the youth vote, the women’s vote in the suburban areas, the gay vote, the Asian vote, the Hispanic vote, the Jewish vote, as well as the agriculture and blue-collar vote in States like New Hampshire,Iowa,Colorado, and Ohio as well.  They even lost the Catholic vote as well as both Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney lost their own home States, and yet in their denial, they are still trying to claim they ran a good campaign.

None of us are so stupid that we do not realize that when Republicans like Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney speak of the Urban vote they are talking about the poor and the African-American vote and when they insult one of us they insult all of us.  We know that first and foremost, we all are Americans together, and the Republicans are not granted leadership unless the American majority, made up of all American minorities, say they are our choice.

They cannot divide us even while they claim that our President is responsible for doing so. When Mitt Romney in his continued arrogance claimed they only lost because of the gifts (Obama care) given to those in the Urban area and free birth control to the young women, by President Obama, he only added more insults to the already bruised majority of us combined, who voted against the arrogance of the Republican Party as much as we voted in favor of the man we felt could better care for all of the American people.

If the GOP continues to refuse to accept the fact that they cannot run a bunch of clowns who are not interested in the people but instead pretend they are by spending billions of dollars and making voting against those who will not vote for them,as miserable as possible, they will continue to lose.  The middle class has lost too much income while the wealth of the wealthy has grown, for to long for the Republican Party to think they can continue to disenfranchise us as a group.

Modern mankind, often led by women who are also the majority voters, will not be fooled into subjection by their leaders, on a pact of lies and  billions of dollars. Adding conservative women to your party that are led by the beliefs of the far right will not fool those of us who do know that we are as equal as anyone else in America. The GOP’s problem runs much deeper than just winning back the Latino/Hispanic voters.  As Haley Barbour said,”The GOP needs to find a good Proctologist”, or as I say,” they need to get their heads out of their b….s long enough to understand they lost overwhelmingly,” and we both mean the same thing.  Republicans lost this election because they offered nothing different from what we have been paying for the last decade and will be paying for  generations to come,  and because we are not a right-wing Nation who denies equality to its people.

The blue-collar workers cannot be forced into giving up their Unions in favor for less pay and longer hours under the Republican control in our States, nor can they continue to fire teachers, policemen, and firemen and then expect our votes.  They may have won 53% of the white vote but basically that is about all they won and with those numbers they lost. It is no one’s fault but their own so it is time they quit making ugly excuses instead.  It is time that men like John McCain accepts that he lost in 2008 and give his along with the bigots like John Sununu, in the Republican Party, bitterness from his and their lost, a rest.

If the GOP wants to continue with their insistence that women are denied the right of equality to their own bodies while they try to win back the Latino/Hispanic vote while dismissing the rest of the minorities in America, they are going to continue to lose because just as the leadership in early mankind needed to be ever cognizant of the needs of the members in the herd,or be threatened by the uprise of the herd, today’s leadership needs to be aware of the fact that the needs of the people are fair and just as well.

We may be modern mankind with all of our own flaws but we still recognize a group of Bullshippers when we see and hear them.  You lost Republicans so lick your wounds and start rebuilding a Party that reflects the needs of the people over your own greed and run legitimate candidates with legitimate concerns for the people of all races, genders, gender orientations, and religious beliefs, over the lobbyists and the bigots, and you will again win over the vote of some of the people who do accept the needs of capitalism to grow as well.

Capitalism cannot continue to stockpile trillions while the workers go without food and homes and then turn around and  expect the workers to vote for the Republican Party who protects Wall Street at the expense of the people.  You lost, accept it, and get to work rebuilding a respectable Party over the disaster based in greed that you now own.  You fooled no one but a few but mainly yourselves.  The truth hurts sometimes but only when we own it can we make necessary improvements towards change in ourselves.  No one doubts that the GOP needs to tear down their structure and rebuild except those of you who march to the drum of  Carl Rove,Grover Norquist, the Tea Party, and the far right, still.

Good Luck and get to work adding moderates to your Party because the angry old white men are a dying breed and it is time you all learn to accept it. We do want to see two healthy political parties again, but it must be based on the needs of the people and have some truth in what it tells the people as well as the needs of capitalism, with a genuine leader at its helm.  We the voters are not going away.  Once burnt twice learned.  We do not need another Bush as in Jeb Bush, either. We are sincere in our wishes to see the Republican Party and their platform rebuilt on reality and on a new foundation. Once we do, and are convinced the people matter, then some of the voters will return to the GOP.

I cannot sign off of politics until I say Thank You Voters! Three times I have watched elections, in my life time ,where the “Good Old Boys” tried to disenfranchise us. Never have I ever seen it get this close to the edge of destroying Democracy and I hope I never do again.

Until and unless, you the Republican Party, recognizes that women,African-Americans,Asians,Latinos,Hindus,Muslims,Jews,Hispanics,the gay community,American Natives, the elderly, the poor, the handicapped, the youth, and any other minority group are as protected by our Constitution and as equal to all the rights of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness, as the white Christian male or the Plutocrat, the Republican Party will be rejected by us.   Tonight we proved to you that we are the growing majority. We are born with all the same rights as any American citizen or immigrant who comes here and works, loves, and breathes on American soil. We did send you, the Republican Party, a mandate because it is our numbers that are growing.

If anyone doubts our unity or the Republican lack of the same, all anyone needs to do is look at the tape of the limited races who were in the Romney crowd as verses the diversity of races in our President’s crowd.  The differences of representation were massive. When we join together in unity and tell you, the Republicans, that we must be recognized as equals by you, have no doubts about it, we are unified. None of us will ever deny any of the rest of us the right to our own healthcare, procreation,or equality in the job force or on the pay scale. Each of us will protect the full right to equality for all of us, and you did get a mandate from us.

As soon as our President won the elections tonight the Republicans started talking about now President Obama is going to have to make the effort to go to Congress and work with the Republicans, because he did not win a mandate.  As a member of the new majority, I think I speak for all of us when I say,” you are wrong.”  It is you who needs the new attitude adjustment.  Tonight you got a mandate from us that you will not treat our President like he is less than you are and YOU will work with him on His agenda, and compromise. We are tired of your filibusters and witch hunts and you must stop the behavior and instead use your time to help “We the People” who elects you secondarily to our President and Vice President.

If you as a Republican or one of the “Good Old Boys’ refuse to accept the fact that “We the People” spoke tonight and told you that President Barack Obama and Joe Biden are our choice, and now you must compromise, then you will find a Taxi-cab waiting at the corner for you when you come up for re-election too. We will not tolerate a Congress ran on filibusters or bills being attached that denies any of us our right to our own health decisions or our own bodies or Constitutional rights. It is clear to all of us that you refused to take our message to heart and to listen to us, the American voters, the first time we elected President Obama from your horrid disrespect of him and your refusal to hear us through him, these last four years.

We will not Tolerate another CPAC retreat where all Republican members must sign a pledge to vote against our President’s Agenda or not raise taxes on the wealthy. We will not vote for people who do not tell us the truth or whom we cannot trust because their lies are self-evident.  Too many of us would prefer to see all the Bush tax cuts run out  on those of us who can afford it, so we can replenish our Treasury.

We know that affordable health care needs more work and we expect you to make concessions and to co-operate with our President, so we can take temporary care of the unemployed middle class, the students who are our future, the abused and mistreated, the hungry, ill, elderly, handicapped and,any others of the groups you have chosen to disenfranchise, when they need a hand up.  We will not tolerate anymore bigots in our government who feel superior to anyone member or feel entitled to encourage their own to disrespect our President or any one group in our new majority nor can you ever run another campaign as dishonorable as the one that was ran this year.

We expect you to stop paper capitalism for the lobbyists, by recognizing that regulations do not eliminate profits but instead it eliminates greed. When you work together to cut the deficit you must first deny Corporate and oil company welfare, before denying us Medicare and Medicaid. We will not continue letting you convince us that the EPA is heavy-handed while we watch our children gasp for air. You must not interfere as President Obama appoints his own Federal and Supreme Court judges simply because they are not Conservative judges.

We know we will have to listen for a month at least, while you, the pundits, and Conservative media refuse to accept that you, the Republicans, lost because you offered your own party such pathetic choices both in the primaries and the general election.  I know you will never put the blame on your own backward mentality nor acknowledge the fault lies in the GOP. If you cannot eliminate the Tea Party and “Good Old Boys” from your own ranks, then we the American voters will have to do it for you. We have the power to disenfranchise you because we want to live in a United Nation where everyone is treated equal.   We much prefer that you sweep out your own trash.

Thank goodness this year and half of an election is over.  I never thought for a minute the polls were right as I know too many Republicans who said they could not vote for Mitt Romney, even while my State went 100% Republican. The Republicans were embarrassed watching the long list of right-wingers step forward in the Republican primary debates and shook their heads saying,”There isn’t a one of them I can vote for if they do win the primary,” and their minds never changed. My great concern all along was not that we didn’t want President Barack Obama and Joe Biden back but that your dirty tricks would cause them to lose.

I am always moved to tears of joy, when I see Democracy is still alive and well and that we will never be anything less than a Great Democracy, because character and hope will always win out over fraud and cynicism. No matter how hard you Republicans try to stack the deck against us, Democracy and the entitlement of freedom granted to all of us through our Constitution and Equal Rights Amendment, will eventually  always win.  We the majority, will recognize anyone who tries to return under another cloak of lies or to  deny our rights to our own health issues or equality for all.

You do not have nor will you ever have a monopoly on,”We the People.”  Good day, good luck, and happy thoughts to all of us. I am so proud of all of us regardless of how we voted because I know the hate and lies comes from them and not the majority of us! We want a strong two Party system where everyone plays by the same rules and understands and respects that we are all entitled to make our own decisions,we are Free, and we belong, regardless of the playing field. America belongs to all of us regardless of race, gender, creed, color or gender orientation.  As the 1970′s Helen Reddy song said,”Hear us Roar!

P.S. to Lars—We aren’t dead yet.  America is on its way back to being better and stronger than ever with a new majority! Just watch us as we move forward and grow by doing what Denmark has, and invest in our people.:)

The Heritage Foundation bills itself as a Conservative think tank when in truth they are lobbyist and responsible for hiring the people who spread the lies against the Democrat majority and President Obama both on the blog-o-sphere and the air waves. It, along with Grover Norquist, was responsible in helping elect President George W. Bush.  They sponsor Rush Limbaugh and work in unison with Grover Norquist refusal to raise taxes. Grover Norquist is a frequent guest as are Tea Party members Ron and Rand Paul on CNN

Phillip Morris Tobacco  along with the Choctaw Indian Tribe and Time Warner who owns CNN are large contributors. CNN likes to call their polls following the debates Scientific and the erratic campaign of Mitt Romney as being mostly true but their poll following the debates have  always had more Republicans than Democrats in it as CNN claims that Republicans watch the debates more than Democrats.  I point that out so when we see other Networks with a double-digit difference in favor of President Obama we understand why CNN is trying to spin it in favor of Mitt Romney.  What I saw of Mitt Romney was anything but Presidential as he was sweating, blinking his eyes and licking his lip which again are symptomatic body language of someone who is less than honest. I sure wouldn’t want Mitt Romney negotiating for my release if  I was ever held hostage ,negotiating nuclear disarmament with Korea or unfair trade practices with China.  As the saying goes”Never let them see you sweat” or”He who blinks first loses.”

But I digress, many believe that the Heritage Foundation along with Grover Norquist also played a major role in helping defeat John McCain because they were the ones responsible for putting Tea Party candidate Sarah Palin on the ticket.  When they did so, John McCain’s support, fell into the dunking tank as far as most women were concerned. I personally  think that any Republican was going to lose the election following George W. Bush and the Tea Party knew that so set John McCain up so  he wouldn’t be in their way this year.

Remember when we did not know Sarah Palin was a Tea Party member but only speaking at their Convention? If we would have known the truth then, The Tea Party would not have been able to ride in on their “Trojan Horse” and claimed they wanted to clean up the Republican Party after The Bush Administration debacle. No one whispered the same in the Republican Party but instead left us puzzled as to why they would support the Tea Party.

Too many voters were led to believe by the media that the Tea Party was a brand new grass-roots movement and many of the followers had to make sacrifices to attend their Conference in Indiana, in 2010, even though the Tea Party members have been part of the majority and the members financially well backed for at least 13 years because Paul Ryan has been a member of Congress for that long as has Ron Paul, and in the World of Politics that makes them old timers. The lies have spread like wild-fire against President Obama since their so-called grass-roots movement with the Help of the Heritage Foundation.

This election year in Maricopa County Arizona, Hispanic voters are being told to show up two days after the election to vote on November 8th instead of November 6th.  The officials there are saying it was just a mistake made in their printing and that might be believable if it was not for the fact that voters in Ottawa,County in North West Ohio, who voted heavily for President Obama in 2008, were not being told the same thing by Republican officials.  Voters are being intimated by the Conservative vote group in Texas and elsewhere by asking questions that are not any of their business and asking for unnecessary ID.  Please be aware that this is all organized mayhem in order to run off the voters for President Obama by these sleazy groups being supported by the Republican Conservative base and the Tea Party.

The Heritage Foundation was behind electing John Roberts to the Supreme Court and in making  large sums of money in campaigns legal.  They have convinced too many Conservative voters that electing President Obama means bringing in Socialism and Communism to our government and to America. Senator Allen West claim that”All 81 Democrats serving on the budget Committee to reduce waste and to support a plan to reduce the deficit are all Communists,” is supported by Tea Party members, Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann, along with the Heritage Foundation.  Mitt Romney has said he will appoint Allen West of Florida to his cabinet if Mitt Romney is elected.

They are no different from the McCarthy era of the 1950′s nor the John Birch Society of the 1960′s except they accept Mormons who are as far right as they are,  and have paid for and continue to finance the Tea Party. They spread the rumor that the Tea Party was grassroots in the 2010 election and were concerned about spending when their real goal is to eliminate all moderate Republicans and take over the Republican Party while promoting the end of the FDR programs and equal rights for women.

Mitt Romney became their choice for President when Newt Gingrich lost his bid to win the primaries.  Do not be fooled by Mitt Romney’s apparent swing to the middle in his debates as the handlers knew if Mitt Romney stayed right where he has been campaigning he would lose the moderate vote. They cannot win without the moderate vote so Mitt Romney is saying everything that appeals to the moderates while wooing the right-wing in the Primary elections.  They are so far right that they make the Conservative right look liberal. The war on women is real as they try to bring back the white male race to what they feel is the entitlement of the white male to prominence over minorities and women in the work force even though they are less educated and many times less qualified for the current job market.

Grover Norquist, who often speaks for them and sits on the board of the National Rifle Association, has informed the Conservative people we do not need a President that comes in here with an agenda of his own but instead a man with five digits who will sign into law what we tell him to, has always been a member of the extreme right and worked as an aide for Presidential hopeful,Barry Goldwater, who was financed and  supported by The John Birch Society in the 1960′s.

Mitt’s professed views on rape and women equality, even though they were not the same in the primaries as they are now, makes no difference  as the Tea Party attempt to stack the Senate, Congress and Governorships in our States with strong pro-life stances and with a majority to do away with the rights of women to make choices on their own health and body and to do away with Unions that protect the working conditions and rights of the workers.  It will not matter as to what Mitt Romney’s views are as with a majority vote Mitt Romney will sign into law the inequality of women. The Heritage Foundation supports and backs the heroes of Conservatism such as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and as a result have led the Conservatives to believe that they are telling them the truth because their views on women inequality is even more harsh than the view of most Conservatives against Women’s rights.

It is the aim of both The Heritage Foundation and Grover Norquist’s along with Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan to eliminate Social Security and Medicare and to turn it all over to private Industry by cutting government to half the size it currently is today.  In doing so they will eliminate all controls and regulations as they did under the Bush Administration and do away with the Consumer Protection Agencys as well as the government Agencys that protect the rights of the poor and middle class.  As Mitt Romney has said,”I will get rid of HUD,turn Teacher’s Unions over to another government Agency, and do away with Planned Parenthood and Obama care the first day I am elected”.

The Heritage Foundation and Americans For Tax Reform co-mingle and are one and the same in their belief system and strong supporters of the Tea Party and their supporters through their Foundations.  Both are lobbyists for their own causes and any and all Republican candidates, who take so much as a dime of their money, must sign an agreement to not raise taxes as they want government to go broke so they can shrink it to half of its size and turn the government wealth over to Private Industry.  Unlike the Conservatives the Tea Party does not believe in Democracy nor does Grover Norquist.

Americans For Tax Reform was founded and is ran by Grover Norquist.  Both the Heritage Foundation and Americans For Tax Reform have pumped in 4 million dollars into the Tea Party in an effort for the lies to be spread against Democrats, President Obama, and Obama care, prior to this election year.  Since they saw to it that the money paid in by outside groups does not have to be reported by getting John Roberts elected as a Supreme Court Justice and swinging the vote to their side on unlimited dollars going into campaigns, no one knows for certain to what a degree their dollars have gone into the Mitt Romney Campaign once Newt Gingrich was defeated in the primaries.

Mitt used an unlisted mail box in Park City, Utah to receive his cash funding during the Republican primaries. They flooded the State of Nebraska and pumped money into the pockets of all Republican candidates and are supporting Republican Deb Fisher against Democrat Bob Kerry  in the Senate Race even though they hold no other interest in the State due to the Law that does not allow Corporations into Nebraska to compete against Agriculture. The Republican Congressman of Nebraska who is running for re-election, Adrian Smith, has always had their backing and votes with them.Their  interest is two fold: to sign all Republicans to their pledge to not raise taxes or let the Bush taxes run out on the wealthy while increasing their tax breaks in exchange for paying for both Nebraska campaigns and to do away with the Equal Rights of Women.

Nebraska has already approved the Personhood Bill that gives all rights to the egg while denying women, including those of rape and incest, the right to make decisions on their own body and health. In their efforts to stack the Supreme Court with Conservative Justices it is their belief that they will over throw Roe vs. Wade and send it back to the States where Roe vs. Wade will be over thrown  in favor of the Bill guaranteeing Personhood to the egg and thereby deny women the right to make decisions of their own on their own health issues.  The Personhood bill criminalizes abortion, irregardless of the circumstances, while criminalizing Doctors who would attempt to save a woman’s life or to prescribe the Morning After Pill (Plan B) following a rape, as those rights under the Personhood Bill would go to the egg even when women are not pregnant. Nebraska is only one example of many States voting in or attempting to vote in laws of Personhood, by Tea Party controlled Republican Governors  and legislatures in our States.

Grover Norquist has said,” Conservatives protest in favor of values when in truth they have no values.”  The Conservatives do not know yet that they are being ripped off by the Tea Party and the Heritage Foundation along with Americans For Tax Reform because Mitt Romney could never win this election without the Conservative vote any more than he can win it without the moderate Republican vote, and they know it.  After George W.Bush won election Grover Norquist said,”Pat Robertson’s staff is so much a part of the White House, Thems is Us, and Us is Thems,” while saying Conservatives do not have any values and are against business.

Mitt Romney is telling us that President Obama will ruin entrepreneurship because by charging more taxes to small business they will all go out of business. He is calling for people like the Koch Brothers and Florida Resorts to tell their people that they better vote for him or lose their jobs and they along with other CEO’s are threatening their employees with the same.  Only 1% of 1% of small business makes a million dollars or more per year and the other 99.99% of small business will profit under President Obama’s tax plan.  Despite these facts, Mitt Romney, continues to claim that 60% of  the people hired by small business will lose their jobs if President Obama’s Tax plans go into effect as small business employs 60% of all workers in America.

In closing then the Heritage Foundation and Americans for Tax Reform are as big of a lie as what Mitt Romney and the Tea Party spreads. It is no accident that Mitt swung to the middle so far on his first debate that he totally left President Obama in a daze.  In both his second and third debate he continued to deny almost everything that he has said on the campaign trail in order to influence the moderate vote while assuring the Conservatives of his opposite stand on the campaign trail.

MITT ROMNEY AGREED WITH PRESIDENT OBAMA SO MUCH  ON  LAST NIGHT’S DEBATE ON FOREIGN POLICY THAT HE SOUNDED MORE LIKE PRESIDENT OBAMA’S VICE PRESIDENT CHOICE.  After listening to Mitt Romney talk about how President Obama is doing everything right on Foreign Affairs we would have to be stupid to get rid of the Inventor of these ideas as President Obama’s Administration has done everything right according to Mitt Romney during the debate but on the campaign trail Mitt Romney has been vicious in his attacks against President Obama’s foreign policy. The Tea Party  are in all of our States backing all Republican candidates both in our States and in Washington in an effort to take over the Republican Party and to deny equality to both women and minorities and to send us back to the 1950′s.

They will not be stopped, unless we stop them together at the election polls.  Vote for the re-election of President Obama and for Democrats now or on November 6. They have tried so hard to rig the system that if we do not vote we will all lose, if Mitt Romney and the Republicans are elected or re-elected in November. That includes you as well, Republicans.  There is not a single moderate amongst them even if they think they will be because the only way they can win their election is by taking Tea Party advanced money, and that includes Mitt Romney, as moderate hopefuls for President, were cut out of the vetting system, before the selection of candidates for the Republican primaries. Why do you think they had such a pathetic selection in the primaries?  Your original instincts on, Mitt Romney, saying what ever it takes to win the election even when his actions and private conversations held before the “Fat Cats” prove differently, were not wrong. Trust them now.  Vote!

(Late edition to my readers:  Today Colin Powell endorsed President Obama because he was concerned about Mitt Romney’s change of views at the debate and feels he is all over the map and may have neo-conservative views in his foreign policy and is not coming clean with the voters. For those of you who are concerned about balanced budgets, the economy and jobs, and why people vote Republican, I urge you to read my post entitled,” The History Of Balanced Budgets” and the question and answers that follow.  It was written on May 2,2012, and can be either typed into this site where it says search or you can simply press on May 2012 at the side of this post and find it.  Thank you!)

As we count down the days now before election day on November 6, Mitt Romney is really putting the emphasis on women. President Obama has been there with us all along and signed the equal pay for equal work bill on his first day in office so women could play on an even playing field with men despite the fact that the Republicans voted against the same. To pretend that the Hispanic and women vote will not win this election is the equivalent of All Americans putting on those blinders that Mitt has tried to place on women and Hispanics on social issues and immigration or possibly to hide out in a binder.

We are supposed to wear blinders when it comes to the fact that Mitt has claimed that before he was Governor that he was in business for 25 years even as he disclaimed it at another time by saying he was no longer at Bain Capital when Bain Capital was accused of outsourcing jobs that had previously been jobs done by Americans. Since some women already have a pair of blinders when it comes to Mitt’s belief of women on social issues they need to be careful not to over use them.

The women that  Romney is courting, and if we believe the media, winning over, must be wearing blinders if they are falling for the Romney spiel when it comes to his protests in favor of women. To add a little levity to it, since Mormon women wear binding underwear all their lives, perhaps binders and women go together in the World of Mitt Romney; But Seriously, does it not occur to women that if Romney had been a successful business man for 25 years,as he claims, that he would not have to find women organizations who put women in binders in order to find competent female employees?  This is Mitt Romney’s own State and he does not know enough women to Staff his own cabinet?

The big part of the Story that gets left out of the telling of the story; and there always seems to be a big part left out by Romney and Ryan and the media who protects their drive to win, is that only one woman worked at Bain Capital after Romney’s 25 years in Business.  Mitt Romney had to go to women’s organizations, who had resume’s of women qualified to staff his Cabinet in binders, because hiring women was never a priority of his prior to running for political offices. He did not play a role in appointing women in any company that he likes to point out that he started after laying off thousands of people in Companies he took over while at Bain Capital.

After this great wealth of business acumen that Mitt brags about on the campaign trail he did not know any qualified women because he had never made hiring women a priority of his previously and if he was going to run as Governor on his way to President he needed to give the appearance of being women friendly.  Mitt Romney has been running for President ever since the voters in Massachusetts more or less told him that he need not apply for a second term because he could not win a second term.

How sad is it and out of touch is Mitt that he could not in the last two decades, when women have been better educated than men since the 1980′s, come up with enough women to make up his staff?  Wouldn’t most of us take a look at our husbands or ourselves and be able, after 25 years in business, to come up with enough loyal and qualified women to make up 30% of our staffs with competent women?  Wouldn’t it even be that much easier if we needed to do this in our own State?

Wouldn’t most of us want to hire even a larger percentage of women to our staffs knowing that women continue being more educated and qualified than men? Since women make up the majority of the population along with the work force shouldn’t those numbers be reflected not only on the candidate staffs but in Congress and the Senate as well?  Isn’t the fact that women still make up the minority of power but the majority of the job market the reason more women lost their jobs in the crises that followed the Bush Administration?

Wasn’t it because more of us were hired over men, since of our qualifications were better than men and because of the Republicans refusal to pass the “equal pay for equal work Act” previously to President Obama passing it into law, that companies could hire us for less, and in doing so it was our numbers that was eliminated the most during the slow down in the economy due to the greed of free enterprise?

Is it any wonder that in the World outside of where Mitt Romney apparently lives, that women have been hit the hardest, because of controls being lifted on the banking industry and Wall Street in the Bush Administration? Isn’t it the refusal of a Republican controlled Congress to pass President Obama’s jobs package and the Republicans efforts to keep unemployment high that is impacting women the hardest and increasing our numbers into the poverty range?

How can Mitt Romney possibly know the real hardships and injustices that women face in a “Good Old Boy” system when he has been part of that system all his life?  If a man is  in business for 25 years and has a College degree and he cannot even come up with enough women he trusts to staff his inner circle without reaching out to outside help doesn’t that tell us that he is either terribly out of touch with women and the issues that they face or he has lived in the Mormon world of male dominance or is a long time supporter of “the Good Old Boy” system?

Can we ignore that in the Mormon world women are expected to be home makers and not have career interests outside of being child bearers, and not understand that women in the work place probably wasn’t important to Mitt Romney until he knew his record needed to reflect that he was not impartial to women when he ran for the office of Governor or President? (See my previous Post:Mormon women:America’s second class citizens and Is Being a Woman A Crime?)

How sad is it that Mitt had to get outside help just to find women who would be considered competent enough to work in his staff? Within 2 years the numbers of women in his staff fell below 30% and for those of us who do not wear blinders or are  in binders, we ask,” if the commitment on Romneys’s part was to women over image why weren’t the women who quit or  laid off, in that period of time, replaced by other women?” When we think of all of the magnificent College professors and the qualified women on the Staffs of  other Companies while Mitt claims to have built up and created jobs  and he himself along with two partners started Bain Capital doesn’t it leave we women questioning why Mitt was unable to staff his own Cabinet if he was so women friendly in the work place?

Mitt Romney in a conference call in June to the Federation of Small Business told CEO’s to tell their employees how they felt as it is not against the law to express their views to their employees on how the CEO’s thought they should vote  and to explain to them they would lose their jobs if they voted for President Obama over himself. Mike White of Rite-Hite in Milwakee has told his 16,000 employees they will lose their benefits if they vote for President Obama, Koch Brothers have told their 45,000 employees that they better vote for Mitt Romney or face lost of their jobs, as has David Siegel of Florida Resorts sent e-mails warning his employees of the same, along with other CEO’s of other Companies are telling their employees to Vote for Romney or lose their jobs.

Instead of reporting this intimidation by CEO’s against thousands of employees taking place across America the media is reporting the Conservative view who are reporting the failure of a Republican Conservative woman being refused a full-time position at the University of Iowa because she is a Conservative Republican where the University hiring team says instead that she had poor interviews and it has nothing to do with her political beliefs.

Conservative Will Cain on CNN is insisting as the Conservatives all do that Universities only hire liberals.  In the world of Conservatism, Evolution being taught instead of Creationism, is considered liberal teachings and Science has been banned in the Republican platform.  This one teacher being denied full-time employment is so much media driven and yet we hear nothing of the threats being made by Companies to fire thousands of employees if they do not vote for Mitt Romney. Can we really believe that Mitt Romney cares more about our jobs than his own election?

When we take a good look at the team of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan and add together the whole story of events while combining it with common sense their history of actions taken against us shows: in their world of business and politics too often both Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan came out short with their actions in support of Hispanics and women. Too often both men were for it before they were against it or against it before they were for it and they will sway any direction and will do or say anything to win elections. As the old saying goes, in my part of the Country, its time that both we women and Hispanics show the ”Good Old Boys” at the election polls,”Action talks, Bull S— walks.”

Re-elect President Barack Obama who does have a history of proving his support for women and Hispanics when it comes to passing or making the efforts to pass forward on bills protecting womens’ equality and fairness in the Hispanic community and will finish what he started, and then Vote Democrat November 6th.

Romney led us to believe that he did not mean all the things that he has told the “Fat Cats” at the debates nor anything he has been saying for the last year.  Instead he has returned with a whole new list of contradictions of his previous campaign on both domestic policy and now, today,Mitt’s Foreign Policy kept the fact checkers busy on his bashing of President Obama.

After the fact checks were done on both Romney’s bashing and the truth at the debate and on his announcement of his foreign policy today, Mitt Romney failed badly and came away with a truth score of 0 (zero) According to the Associated Press.  The fact checkers found  all of Mitt’s statements against President Obama on Foreign Affairs to be  either inaccurate or misleading.

What else is new?  The only thing that should disturb all of us is that  Mitt Romney could win this election on a total sheet of lies. Notice how much he blinks when he is debating and make sure you file away the fact that blinking of the eyes ranks on top of the list of a liar and has been used by people in law enforcement and the military interrogation as a strong possibility that the person who is being interrogated is not telling the truth for centuries.

According to Gallup Poll the poll now shows Obama–49   Romney—47  while  the Pew Poll gives Romney a slight lead.  The only thing that Mitt Romney said in the Debate that even resembled anything he has said in the last year was that he would get rid of Big Bird (which he now denies) even though Sesame Street is totally self-supporting, and 91% of the American Public watches PBS at some time during the year.
I am always amazed with the lack of interest in the American voters when it comes to sorting out the truth for the people who have ambition to gain the White House.  If saving the government $1.35 per person per year is such glorious news to those who watched the debates, because Mitt Romney is going to balance the budget by getting rid of PBS while refusing to tell us anything else, and this changes the public minds on voting for Mitt Romney then we as a Nation are in as much trouble as the Republican naysayers have been saying since the day President Obama was sworn in. Remember when we knew the Republicans were degrading our President before he even had a chance to turn around the economy and the outside of Washington economists were crediting the stimulus money passed by the Democrat majority as the reason that we did not go into the Deep Depression that the Republicans were predicting along with Wall Street?

Just like the Mayan calendar predicted, according to the scholars, that the World would end on December 21,2012, further investigation along with finding and  gaining further knowledge has since revised that prediction.  They now realize that a Mayan Year lasted 500 years which makes the original prediction invalid and all of us safe from destruction.

What is or should be terrifying to all of us or perhaps it follows more along the line of sadness or comedy, is a whole sector of Americans amongst us, would rather dig holes in the ground and store food and water and live in the caves with their ammunition and guns than accept the fact that the good news is that the World is not going to end after all. WE have moved from a positive Nation of the Clinton years when we knew they were lying to a bunch of negative “Nellies” who would rather accept false facts and bad news than we would good news.

The number of people amongst us who find it easier to believe messages of doomsday predictions and lies over truth have grown amongst our ranks and they will be voting for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan because they believe the lies that are being told about our President and the economy being as bleak as these Republicans are saying it is.  What does it say about us as a Nation when we accept lies in a debate over substance  along with the absence of details  totally missing, like always, when Mitt Romney speaks.

Our lives are stressful enough without having the use of fear tactics being generated by the Republicans and Wall Street used against us.  The Market is the strongest that it has ever been in history and the hoarding of money being sent over-seas should leave us more concerned than the negativity that has been launched against President Obama has been for four years. When our tax base disappears because of their greed then  aren’t we all headed for real problems?

I refuse to believe that the Greatest Country in the World has more of the sad sacks who are being manipulated by fear tactics in it, than there are those of us who do know the challenges that President Obama faced going into the mess, that he inherited, and just how far we have come since then.

The economy, partially due to the problems in Europe along with what the Democrats and Republicans were left with, many of them more responsible than President Obama was for the mess, was headed to a dismal future for all of us before President Obama took office.   Real life doesn’t happen like it does on so-called reality television.  With real problems comes real-time and a who;le lot of effort.  I am proud of all of us who do understand that to be the truth.

The first year of every Presidency is the budget of the previous Administration so  President Obama could not change the budget given him in 2009, according to law, the first year he became President.  Once we understand that we all should be pleased in what President Obama along with the Democrats and a few Republicans did, in less than 3 years with a Congress and Senate that refused to work with him.

To all of us who do understand how deep the hole was we were in thanks to them, we do know; it is just short of a miracle that President Obama and the Democrats were able to stop a Great Depression.  The Republican naysayers like to talk about the Democrats having had two years and  they did nothing, but in truth they had one year and did quite a bit.  The “Do Nothing” Republicans have been in both the Congress and Senate since the addition of the Tea Party in 2010, and yet the voices of the naysayers echo hate in our ears simply because politics bores them and they base everything on the lies told them,  with Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan along with the other Republican candidates laying it on thick, during the debate and on the campaign trails.

Shouldn’t it be disturbing to all of us who not only know too many people believe negative ads but they also believe the lies that come out of the mouth of the Right-Wing Republican candidates along with Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan? Why is it that we are allowing those who demean and belittle progress and success in the gains that President Obama has made over their own corruption hold us back, while others are hanging onto the lies of those who are putting forth negative reports against the very people and their efforts to bring us hope that is proving to be real?

Instead of believing the lies of bullies who would again return us to an economy based on greed shouldn’t we support those whose philosophy is based on the  belief that America belongs to all of us and working together we will always make life better for everyone,  be a prominent theme this election year? When did we arrive at the point that those who create problems can also fix the problems they created when their actions belie that truth and their leader accepts that 47% of us are parasites?

Have we become a Nation that finds it easier to believe those who would rather degrade our gains over those who will fight to build us up? Aren’t we all tired of the naysayers who bring us down and entitled to the understanding that we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel thanks to the efforts of President Obama? Haven’t their diversion tactics to turn a good day into a bad day with lies and negativity gone on too long? The worse is behind us and we not only survived it but we have reason to believe in most cases that we refused to let them defeat us.  Why would any of us go back to that while many of us are still struggling to recover from their greed?

Every State is showing an upswing  in the housing market along with employment while States like South Dakota, Nebraska, and North Dakota were not  affected by the Recession but will pay the price of the Drought without a farm bill having been passed by the Republican Congress.

President Obama’s policys haven’t solved everything and they need more tweaking and more time but they certainly are an improvement over going back to the Bush Policy.  Regardless of what Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are telling us every fiber in their being along with their actions and conversations with the “Fat Cats” makes it clear that is what they will take us back to if we do elect them.  “If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is a duck”, especially when we are not present and the person speaking is a member of the 1%”  Vote Democrat!

What a relief it is to finally hear a tea Party Republican tell the truth.  Since the Republicans have looked under every crook and cranny for something they can use against the Obama Administration and have come up dry in comparison with their own failed policy’s, the Republicans have had to lie in order to sway the voters. They have not been able to go after the Obama Administration as hard as they would like to without the fear of the Republican tactics coming back to bite them in the Butt. That is why Rubio’s comment today was worth capturing. Without meaning to say it, Rubio acknowledged that even,” Joe Biden was better than anything the Republicans have.”

I will give a short history of American Conservatism beginning with today and working back.  The Conservative Press keeps hitting Romney as to why he isn’t  hammering President Obama by staying on the economy. The problem the Romney campaign has in doing so  is: if they do, too much of the truth about the Grover Norquist’s maneuverings, the Carl Rove cheap tricks,  Mitch McConnell’s and Eric Cantor’s behavior in the Senate along with the Republican’s behavior in the Congress, combined with the 56 attempts of Paul Ryan to prohibit the equality of women while in Congress, will become front line Headlines.  Up until now it has only been maverick writers like myself, who have hit on these low points in the Republican Party where others fear to tread.

The earlier politicians in history had what we use to refer to as a” gentleman’s agreement” between the media and the opposite Party that  pretty much stated, “if you don’t hit too hard on us we will return that favor.” This agreement was honored by both sides yet in the 1960′s and explains why so many of Jack Kennedy’s affairs went unpublished.  The Democrats and Republicans, along with the press, looked the other way for years, on the high handedness and sometimes corruption that led to borderline maneuverings of American wealth, until the Republicans pushed it too far and tried to swing the election towards Richard Nixon with the Watergate break in.

As long as both parties played nice and honored the agreement not to mess up the nests of each other, the “gentleman’s agreement”, remained  in Washington.  Both Parties offered the voters hope and led the voters to believe that their concerns were more important than the wealth of Nation. In order to do so both Parties had to raise taxes when needed and pay off deficits during the times the economy did well. A balanced budget has occurred only 6 times in the History of our Nation.  It was also important that the needs of the people take priority over the greed of Capitalism so both parties initiated programs for the people when need arose and prior to the last couple of decades, but it has all changed since the Conservative control combined with the Tea Party grew and gained control in the Republican Party.  The Democrats have had their own history of corruption over the years.

The secrets that went on in Washington were so protected by the Press, sometimes by kick backs, that we had both parties still looking out for the best interest of the people.  When the Democrats were tipped off by “Deep Throat” on the Watergate break in and the Democrats prosecuted the Nixon staff vigorously, the grudge match began between the liberals and the Conservatives.

When the Conservative efforts to impeach President Clinton  failed, they realized that they needed to increase their power and added the Tea Party to their numbers. Although we were led to believe that the Tea Party was grass-roots in 2010 they have been in the picture since the end of the Clinton Administration, and this is what led to the Conservative support and backing of the Tea Party people in the Congress and Senate such as Ron Paul and Paul Ryan, and their elections along with other Tea Party and Conservative members 13 years ago.

The Conservatives hated Clinton for his insistence to balance the budget and Hillary’s efforts to bring healthcare to the American people and began a real witch hunt against both Clintons over White water with the Starr committee.  Hillary had also worked as an aide in the Democratic office during the Nixon corruption so they hated both Clintons.  They spent over $200,000.00 trying to dig up dirt on them on white water and failed.  Newt Gingrich tried to cool them down but ended up being very vociferous against Bill Clinton even though he himself was having an affair while his first wife was dying from cancer. The moderate Republicans were as concerned as Clinton was about balancing the budget as the deficit had hit a trillion and was going up, for the first time in history, and the economy needed stabilizing.

There had not been a balanced budget since the 1950′s when Ike Eisenhower was in office. When the Conservatives  lacked a public voice before Fox News and Rush Limbaugh, they were willing to pretend that their Conservative news outlets were not main stream.  Although that is ridiculous today with the growth in the size of the Christian Broadcasting Networks and Fox news that line of thinking still exist today.

As long as the Conservatives could represent themselves as being the fair and accurate Network that protects the truth from the main stream media they got by with their rant and raving and spread of faux news. It made it easier to  blame the credible news media along with the Democratic political aisle as being spreaders of hate and socialism or as Sarah Palin calls them “the lame stream media”.  The Republican moderate base, unlike the Democrat base was not as fluid or loyal as the Democrat or Conservative base is or was so the Conservatives have cost many voters in their Party to leave and become Independent.

The Conservatives learned the hard way that the more they pushed on the Democrats the harder back the Democrats will push on them.  They learned this both with Watergate and the impeachments attempts they tried on Bill Clinton and found out their muscle could not defeat that of the Democrat’s Power.

I don’t think that even the engineer of Conservative politics, Ronald Reagan would recognize what has happened to “the proud old Party” today nor would he tolerate such greed and bigotry.  Ronald Reagan raised taxes three times when the deficit started going out of control and we saw the first trillion-dollar deficit.

By spending, Ronald Regan was able to raise the GNP but it left us with a very unstable economy and it would take the Clinton Administration to finally stabilize it with building out the middle class. Clinton was able to prove for the second time in history that a strong middle class with discretionary spending leads to a surplus economy.

The Bush Administration went back to Trickle down economics big time and that has always been bad for America, and unless we are amongst the wealthy, it is bad for us as well. By draining the United States Treasury completely, they can turn the government wealth over to Private Business and in doing so deplete the United States Treasury and eliminate the government offices that protects both the poor and the middle class. Despite what Romney said in the debates tonight, hell he even impressed me who is totally cognizant of the truth, his and Paul Ryan’s budget plans and tax initiatives are the Bush Administration on steroids. The truth remains that It is only with a strong fiscal government that “We the People”, can survive the greed of free enterprise.

I will divulge my readers tonight by going off subject temporarily and add that if Mitt Romney is a Conservative he certainly did not talk like one tonight in the debates and regardless of what the pundits are saying, I think he left President Obama totally shocked with the answers he gave because nothing he said in the debates tonight came close to what he is saying on the campaign trail.  I have no doubt that Mitt will never get by with it a second time so he better rest on his laurels with his win tonight. I also expect that he upset the Conservatives and will have to answer to them as well.

Now getting back to the preceding subject, there is a genuine hate grudge in the Conservative movement towards the liberals because they feel as though they have not yet gotten even with the Democrats for the embarrassment they suffered with both Watergate and their failure to impeach Bill Clinton. Never mind the fact that it was their own poor behavior that is responsible for it.  The second part of the analogy is the Conservatives have fought for more than a century to be able to gain the kind of  wealth that the Rockefeller’s and Gettys gained in the 1800′s and this is their last century to do so, because as the population increases so does the size of government increase.

Due to the growing frustrations of the Conservative movement and  the hate they still hold against the Democrats the right-wing politics in both Parties, but to a much lesser degree in the Democratic Party, are losing their Republican base to the Independents who will not tolerate their insufferable intolerance of the American minorities, the gay population, nor their greed,so each election year the Republicans have to court the Independents who left their Party, in order to win them back.

Unlike the Republican Christian base that they have been able to manipulate for years, they have not found the Independent base quite so malleable.  The Conservatives have all the working parts in place this year so it is more important than ever that they win.  If they don’t they will lose the efforts made by them for three decades.   They have been preaching hate tactics against the liberals, the Unions, the needy who in their words are the takers, education who they claim teaches atheism, and gotten by with these tactics because the media fairly well is owned by their own.

When it isn’t their media, the Conservative voters have been told that they can only listen to or watch the Conservative sponsored radio or television channels because they are the only media they can trust because everything else is lies that are paid for by the Liberal media.  Sadly they have been so brainwashed into believing this by people like Michelle Bachman,Sarah Palin,Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly to name a very few, they believe Allen West of Florida when he says the 81 members of the Democratic Budget committee are Communists as well as the fact that President Obama should be tried for treason and is a Muslim and not a United States citizen.

The Conservatives on the right yield so much power that they laid the platform that disallows abortion in all cases including when a woman’s life is in danger or in case of rape.  They have already changed text books in schools that ban evolution and replaced it with Creationism.  They are against Science and had it disallowed on the Republican platform and want to close down controls on Wall Street, The Environmental Protection Agency, Housing for the poor and the Agency that controls out of sight rental charges,The Consumer Protection Agency and any or all Unions and they do not believe in Global Warming.

The right-wing Conservatives want All controls over the greed of Capitalism running amok over the people banned and this  is encouraged by the Tea Party and Conservative members of the Republican Party. Conservative in their interpretation does not mean fiscal controls in Government, like it does to us, but instead the elimination of all controls over Capitalism and they are against all and any kind of taxes and instead want government in the hands of Capitalism or free trade even when to do so  leads to the decline of the general welfare of the people and the middle class. Instead they lie to the general population while calling Liberals who do believe in a strong middle class and a fiscal government of being socialists.

The combination of the Tea Party and Conservative policy of no taxes and their control of 70% of the Republican legislature in Washington as well as the governorships in 17 States, leaves the Conservatives feeling as though they can win on their own policy of greed, in November. The Conservative voters, in the meantime in those States,  are being led to believe that abortion is out of control instead of being told the truth that when the economy is bad and people cannot afford to feed a baby they will abort rather than watch a new-born suffer.  The abortion rates were higher in the 1970′s  than they are today even though our population has grown. The Conservative politicians are so convinced that they have indoctrinated these voters that Grover Norquist has been able to promise the choice for Republican President his assurance of their vote.

Mitt Romney stood in Wisconsin with his arm around Tea Party Governor Scott Walker when he beat out the efforts to impeach him with the money from the Koch Brothers and Sam Adelson and said and I quote, “President Obama wants to add more teachers, policemen and firemen, didn’t he get the message that Wisconsin sent him and that is that we need to fire more teachers, policemen and firemen.” and has promised Allen West a cabinet position if he is elected.  I ask you all, “Does that sound like the man who wants to add more jobs and believes in education who was at the debates tonight?  Mr Etch-A-Sketch was at his finest and “We the People” must take that smirk off his face in November.

President Obama, Joe Biden and the Democrat Party are standing in their way of turning America back to what it was before the Roosevelt and Truman programs enriched the poor to the point we ended up with a strong middle class.  As long as there was only the rich and poor in America the wealth of the rich grew through free enterprise while the poor got poorer and served the needs of the wealthy. They made this same attempt during the McCarthy era and failed in the 1950′s and they are not about to fail again.

Having said all this, when Mark Rubio said today that the Republican crowd should not “boo”, Joe Biden but welcome his statement of the middle class being in the ditch for four years, but only added later due to the Bush Administration, which everyone with a brain knows Biden meant to say, It was such a breath of fresh air to me to finally hear a Republican tell the truth. At my age I was beginning to believe that I would not live long enough to hear such a thing.

When Mark Rubio said today, and I quote, ”He ( Joe Biden) is the best thing we have going for us!” I could not help thinking to myself, even Rubio knows and understands that a Democrat Vice President is better than anything the Republicans have going for them, and certainly better than Romney.   Vote Democrat  in November.

I am going to offer my own opinion today on the hype over the Debates.  It seems to me that the media is much more concern about the debates than the general public are. They have talked about little else.  All the speculation about who will win the debates or will President Obama be his own worse enemy or too arrogant or will Romney give details beyond saying something stupid like Paul Ryan did on Sunday and that  was”We would all change the channel because Mitt Romney’s tax plan is just too boring to tell,” I nor do the majority of us believe that to be the case, so apparently he feels we are too stupid to understand the details. The truth lies in the telling of the details that Mitt Romney has deliberately tried to avoid telling.

We would all welcome hearing Mitt Romney tell us his plans on the budget, how he will get jobs and who would benefit from these jobs–the employer or the worker; how his plans would differ from Ryan’s on medicare or if it is the same; whose taxes and what loopholes will he cut; Does he support the Lilly Ledbetter act and all of women’s rights including allowing women the right over their own health issues; How will his immigration differ from the Dream Act; and many more questions that he puts off and refuses to answer until after he is elected.  We all know very clearly where President Obama stands on all of these issues and would rather hear Romney explain his answers on all of the above over watching the debate.  We are not too stupid to understand,Paul Ryan.

We listened and watched the either pathetic or comical Republican debates for what seemed like a year and it may have been a full year I was just too numb to tell after it finally finished.  President Obama has been in office for 4 years and we have all discovered, even though it is hard for some to admit, that we like our President and love Michelle.

We also know that Joe Biden will screw up on his words but it’s only because he is so passionate about the middle class that his anger for those who would mistreat us,  is real.  The man has dedicated his life to the middle class and sometimes he mixes up his words and we accept that about him.  We, however, do not feel any genuine emotions for us coming out of the mouth of either Mitt Romney or Paul Ryan.  Their messages do not match their actions as it does in Barack Obama.  The Massachusetts majority did not want Mitt back and Paul Ryan voted 100% with the Bush Administration.  What can the debates tell us that we do not already know?

I, who watched each debate faithfully clearly heard Mitt Romney say in the primaries while playing to the right that, ”I will ban all abortions regardless, absolutely.”  Like so many other things he has said in an effort to gain the women’s vote even though his original statement agrees with the Republican Platform, he is now trying to appeal to the moderates by saying he would not ban abortion in event of rape or if a woman’s life is in jeopardy. If that is the case then perhaps he can explain why he picked the only candidate in the Republican Party who has tried to move forward personhood or ban Roe vs. Wade 56 times, as his running mate.  We can be assured, sadly, that question along with why if his plan on medicare, social security, and taxes is different from Paul Ryan’s why he chose to use the Paul Ryan’s team to write-up his budget will not be asked either.

President Obama may get a little testy listening to someone without the facts treating his four years in office as tripe or terrible instead of giving him credit for stopping a Depression that was forecasted to be worse than the Great Depression, and Mitt Romney will lie while he accuses the President of misstating fact. We already know that and we expect that to happen after watching all those primary debates.  We know exactly how both men debate and regardless of what they say our man will win the debates.

If we are open-minded, we know that we will not hear anything on whose and what taxes Romney will Cut or whose loopholes he will close. We know Romney will not tell us if he supports equal pay for equal work.  We know he will not tell us if he will support the Constitution and the equal rights amendment that grants women full rights to their own person.  We know we will not hear Mitt acknowledge if he is in favor of or opposes the Dream Act and if so how he will change it.

We know Romney will not be honest enough to tell us that Jonathan Gruber of MIT says there is no difference between Romneycare and Obamacare, and he knows that for a fact because he is the person that planned both programs including mandates, and when Romney says his healthcare did not cost the Massachusetts voters it is only because the Federal government pays for it in Massachusetts. We know that rather than telling us the facts Romney will say he does not have enough time alloted to do that but he will lay it all out before election day.

We know if Mitt had been honest and claimed  the truth on Romneycare, he would have learned as everyone else has that Romneycare was and is well received by the people who live in Massachusetts; but because the Conservative are so against it, he has denied it is the same and hasn’t been honest about it.  We know it was the increase in the deficit and the jobs he outsourced making Massachusetts the 47th in the Nation when it came to hiring workers that made 60% of the voters who did not want him back.  His stories on success obviously exist in the pundits minds since he is losing to President Obama by 20% of the votes in his own home State.

I can go on with the list of other truths and answers we would like to have but will not get because his plans do not vary from the Bush Administration’s. We will not hear anything concrete based on facts or the truth come out of the mouth of Mitt Romney, because we did not hear anything in the primaries nor have we heard anything on the campaign trail as to how Mitt Romney would Lead and the details of the same.

The reason I and the rest of Americans already know this, is because Mitt has had to live down every off the cuff comment that was not on script that he has ever made.  Mitt is still trying to live down his $10,000.00 bet made during the primaries and is now trying to convince us that he did not mean it when he said he would eliminate HUD because he does not care about the poor because they already have too much. We know he has tried to deny that he would close down Planned Parenthood and that he likes to fire people and then there is that tricky little 47% that he is now trying to turn into a 100%, and it simply does not fly with us.

It is hard to deny when his running mate Paul Ryan is being reported by Mother Jones as having a U tube video made in November of last year also talking about the makers and takers with Paul Ryan accusing  30% of the population of being lazy and moochers without any desire to work.  Add to that the undertones being established on Fox News  and the right-wing of the Romney campaign, who are bringing back the old tape of Rev. Jim Wright that was thrown out by John McCain in 2008; and Newt Gingrich talking about President Obama not being one of us and plays basketball with a different rhythm from us and takes naps and we have a repugnancy in the Republican Party that dates back to the intolerance and stupidity of the “Good Ole Boys” of the Jim Crow Days.

A Republican Party that is so out of touch it only promotes the ignorance and hatred in our Society that the majority of us hoped would be left behind in the 1960′s, will not be and should not be tolerated, by the voters in our Nation, with or without a debate. It is this intolerance and hatred that is responsible for the divide we are seeing both in our Political Parties and Society while the Republican Party denies it exist.

It is both the poor and the middle class of all Nationalities and races who have and continue to make free enterprise and Democracy possible and their constant referral to the misguided idea along with the attitude,” that the poor, and make no mistake about it they are talking minority, do not work but just take from society,” exist outside of Mitt’s $50,000.00 a plate dinner and is well and alive in the Republican Party today. We already know that no one will bring this up in the debates as to give credence to it only makes the hate grow. (See my previous post, “Take a History Lesson,Mitt”)

President Obama on the other hand will tell us that he believes that Companies working in partnership with Unions, government and educators will bring us to steady employment as a result of the commitment of everyone working together and the middle class will again be able to rise to their rightful place. He will also tell us that he has lowered taxes 18 times on small business owners. He may explain healthcare a little better and we know that he supports women’s rights as stated in our Constitution and the equal rights Amendment.  We know he has the back of both women and minorities along with the middle class and has tried to push through the Dream act but that along with a jobs package,a farm bill,a budget, and the Violence against Women Bill have either been filibustered or held up by Congress in an attempt to attach a personhood bill or they have attempted to do away with Roe vs. Wade and attach it to the attempts made by the Democrats.

The media will try to trip President Obama up with Fast and Furious, healthcare, and Syria and the middle East or they will figure out themselves that if the terrorist approved of the drone attacks that the Obama Administration was making against them they would not be trying so hard to stir up the crowds against America.  I believe the majority of us can see that it is apparent the terrorist feel threatened by President Obama’s,Hillary Clinton’s, and Paneta’s foreign policy or they would not be trying so hard to stir up the people who are for the most part simply innocent bystanders in the Arab Spring.

We know those who like President Obama will say the majority of the media slanted their questions to benefit Mitt Romney as the majority of them have their pay checks signed by Corporate.  The Conservatives will say that the liberal media deliberately tried to trip up Mitt Romney or put words in his mouth because Mitt Romney does not speak as eloquently as President Obama does and the media had their facts wrong.

There may be some truth to both arguments perhaps, since Candy Crowley,as a woman, cannot ask the questions she wants to ask but all the men can ask anything they want to, but for the most part it will be done by talented moderators who are professionals and know far more than the general public knows about world affairs. If the candidates make mistakes and it’s our candidate we won’t care because we will all know that they have both been drilled for these debates on what they can and cannot say. In the end, We will choose the candidate that we can trust and that we most like. The majority of us will watch one debate and then switch the channel unless we are diehard students of politics like myself.

Long story short, the media plays up the debates so much because this is their night to shine and they like to feel that we will all turn in to watch their performance.  Even I will give them a few moments to argue who won and then I too will turn it off.

Sorry media, but I predict there will be more people in bed, asleep in their chair,or watching other channels; or reading a good book; or catching up with putting kids to bed; or doing housework; than there will be spending their time watching the media hype and analogy on who won the debates.

We already know who we like and will vote for and those who have yet to decide will decide if they walk into the polls to vote. Many of them won’t.  The money being spent by both campaigns will be the biggest waste of money ever spent in a campaign in history.  There are no surprises this year because the difference between our choices are so massive that even a bomb going off would not change our minds.  Most of us would want to keep the incumbent in office, if that were the case, just as we will if it isn’t. Vote.

When I heard Mitt Romney speak this morning at the Clinton Global Initiative, I could not believe what I heard.  He talked in glowing details about free enterprise being responsible for the wealth established out West in the 1800′s and how we needed to quit giving aid without work.  He said and I quote, “Before then there was terrible poverty in the West in the 1800′s and because of free enterprise we were able to bring wealth to that part of the Country.

When we realize there were few settlers in the region yet in the 1800s and Sioux Indian Wars were still raging in the plains that led to General Custer’s death in 1875, my eyebrows arched when I heard Mitt Romney say something so ridiculous. Even though treaties had been signed by the Indian Nations there were still renegade Indian Wars as well as wars between the Indian Nations and the United States Calvary still being fought out West in the 1800s.

The gold rushes that took place out West and in South Dakota did make instant millionaires out of a very few but it was the Railroads that were built by the Army and United States Government that opened up the West for trade that was responsible for the wealth that would follow.

Without either it is highly doubtful that Free Enterprise would have established the railroads that connected the West Coast with the East Coast. As a matter of fact because of claim jumpers and large landowners burning out smaller settlers, highway men or robbers, houses of ill repute and gamblers who often won the deed to other’s land in the 1800′s it has been said that anyone who got wealthy West of the Mississippi in the 1800′s did it dishonestly. The only law available in most of the West in the 1800′s was the colt 45,a rope, and the perceptions of the vigilante that was usually controlled by the large land owners. If a person so much as looked at a member of the vigilante wrong they could find the colt pulled and a bullet in their head.  So much for free enterprise’s role in the wealth of the West that Mitt was glorifying.

The construction and operations of the intercontinental railroad was authorized by the Pacific Railroad Acts of 1862 and 1864 while the Civil War was still being fought.  Congress supported it with 30 year U.S. government bonds and extensive land grants of government-owned land.  It was the culminating success story of the 1800′s as it made possible the transportation of goods and produce from the West into the Cities of the East.  There were smaller railroad lines built by wealthy men prior to this but it was the Army that designed the first Continental railroad with government subsidies that brought both people and trade from the East Coast to the West Coast.

It is true that this was a time of great wealth for large land owners along with  oil magnates in Texas, and coal and gold mine owners in Wyoming and the Dakotas but their families, for the most part, all lived in previously established land owned by Mexico or on the East Coast during this time. Mansions of the gold miners early success did interspersed the landscape of the wealthy who struck it rich in mining but they were few and far between.  They did not share their wealth with the workers but instead paid them drastically poor wages. The railroads shipped in Chinese laborers to do what were very high risk jobs working with explosives both in transport and carving the railroad through mountain rock due to the shortage of people in the West.

American ingenuity was second to none when it came to the inventions of Edison and electricity,Bell and the telephone, and Ben Franklin’s advancement of civilization through the printing press.  The quality of work of Tiffany and Sons and various Silversmiths along with the invention of Eli Whitney’s cotton gen were all factors of American ingenuity. No one could hold a candle to entrepreneurship of the Americans. Cabinet makers who had arrived to the East Coast and potterers and glass makers from Ohio to Indiana made such quality work that it is still highly collectible today.

With the later invention of the automobile and assembly lines by Henry Ford making the automobile affordable to the masses and followed by the Industrial revolution,  interState systems paid for by government and invention of the technology era, we as Americans led the field, but these inventions and advancement of free enterprise were still a long way from reaching the West in the 1800′s as the majority of Americans out West were still living in squalor conditions and the American Natives were starving due to the depletion of their hunting grounds.  American ingenuity and inventions will always bring wealth through free enterprise but this was still a long way off in the West during the 1800′s.

The workers were given deplorable living conditions when they could find work and only those who worked with explosives since their lives were short-lived were given a little extra in pay.  The same was true about those hired to work the oil rigs and to work in the mines.  The only wealth that was brought to the West at the time was no different from what too many Conservative and Tea Party Republican members of the Congress and Senate are trying to accomplish today.

The owners got richer on this so-called free enterprise and the poor were replaced by other poor immigrants as they died off from deplorable working conditions, and they got even poorer. Later they would be paid in tokens that could only be used in the Company stores and by the time they paid the Company housing rents and bought food for their families they usually ended up owing the Company Store far more than they earned.

There was wealth only if you were someone who belonged to the American aristocracy such as Cornelius Vanderbilt, the Rothschilds, the Rockefellers, the Astor’s, Hunts, or a member of the Standard oil family such as Rockefeller and Flagler etc., who were worth a Billion in the 1890′s and the first monopoly or Corporation in America.  They however all lived on the East Coast and not out West. They may have been given credit for being the builders of America or the founders of American Industry, but they did not provide for the sacrifices born out of the American laborers, make up the Calvary or Military, nor provide for the hardships that went into the making of the transcontinental railroads.

That was done out of the blood, sweat, starvation, death and tears of the poor. There were only two kinds of people in the 1800′s when it came to wealth or the lack of the same.  They were either the very wealthy engineers of American progress or the very poor laborers in the 1800′s.  Too many times the artists as well as the cabinet makers along with the inventors would find their own efforts stolen from them by the wealthy because of their families own desperate situations or circumstances. There were no laws to protect the poor and even if there was they could not afford to pay a lawyer. If the 1800′s is something that Romney wants to glorify then we can understand why he does not relate to us.

When produce could be brought from the West by refrigerated cars, later,  the large land owners employed immigrant and migrant workers paying them next to nothing to do slave labor.  The housing conditions for the workers again were deplorable and in many cases not much more than a horse stable or hog shed.

The railroads helped increase the wealth of landowners because they could transport perishable items and profit from it. The smaller producers grouped together to protect their profits from the large producers by forming the Grange or Co-ops. I assure everyone who reads this, free enterprise did not bring wealth to the general masses in the West in the 1800′s. I could not believe that Mitt spoke about this as being a time in History that we must all aspire to because it was a time of great turmoil and unrest in the West.

Beginning in the later part of the 1800′s Germans,Czechoslovakians,Persians, Irish,Asians,Scottish,Swedish, Israelis,Syrians,Russians, along with many other over seas Nationalities, began to arrive through the Great Lakes or our shores to escape persecution, wars, or starvation and mostly settled in the Cities. Some came for the hope of jobs or heard stories of wealth being told about a New Country called America. Those who could farm were offered free land in return for clearing away the trees where forests existed and to make improvements on the Land in States along the Mississippi and Ohio  Rivers.

Some who were paid to fight in the Civil War to replace the sons of the American Aristocracy, arrived during the mid 1800′s and if they survived the war they bought land from the government with the $250.00 they were paid by the wealthy, once the war ended. There was a whole regiment of German-speaking men and other Nationalities who fought in the Civil War, in place of the sons of the wealthy. The African-American slaves who fought in the Civil War was amongst the lowest provided for but the bravest of the regiments. They were sent in front of the troops and suffered the worse casualties due to their bravery.

Fur traders, missionaries, and store owners who traded with the American Natives, arrived earlier and there were scattered settlements out West in the later part of the 1800′s. The French and Spanish had arrived much earlier and had owned a great part of America from Louisiana and all the way into Utah. It all belonged to the American Natives prior to our signing the Indian treaties with them that moved them to the Reservations. It would lead President Abraham Lincoln to ask in the 1800′s prior to the freeing of the African-American slaves, “Did we believe the slaves or the Indians had it worse?”  When the slaves were freed they were never given a mule nor their 40 acres that was promised them by the Republicans.Only California which was established much earlier by the Spanish, before the American and Spanish war, was a center of wealth and growth.

A large part of  the West was still anywhere but close to being established late into the 1800′s when towns or villages were just beginning to pop up few and far between alongside of the railroads. Instead workers were primarily kept in outdoor conditions or in what were called camps. California had their own established wealth from trade, gold mines and an agreeable growing season. Much of the Western Plains were deserts where only scrub brush, tumble weeds, sage brush and cactus would grow in the 1800′s.  Land that produced would turn into farmland much later with the building of dams and irrigation funded by the government.  Next to the Native Americans both the French Canadians and the Spanish were here before the majority of our ancestors arrived in the West.

Farms and towns or what we would call villages started springing up more following the early 1900′s,as government gave incentives to Americans and foreigners from other Countries to move West. They brought with them their ability to survive hardships and to do without while improving the fruit trees and farming.  It is true that many families other than the store owners or those who established banks, were poor in the West.  When the railroads arrived and they could start sending their beef and grain to the East or West Coasts, they realized better living conditions, but it was agriculture and the railroads that made it possible and certainly not free enterprise that helped them improve their living condition.

In 1904 the Kincaid Act was signed and this is what brought the majority of people West as posters were placed overseas offering free land to settlers as well as East of the Missouri.  This brought the majority of white foreigners and previous settlers to America and the West as more towns were established along the railroads, and helped establish the West further.  Anyone who would clear a section of land and build improvements on it would be given the land clear and  free.  These relatively New States of the West,  needed to establish a government and have people to pay taxes in order to do so. They did that by giving people the land in exchange for the taxes they paid into their State Governments.

To suggest that the Father’s of Industry were somehow responsible for bringing free enterprise to the West and therefore increased the wealth of the West is simply fallacy as it was the increase in population and supply and demand that brought the much-needed food supply as well as the coal for heating and the lumber for buildings to the populated areas through use of the railroads.

The Aristocracy simply owned everything in the West that added to their own personal wealth.  Without the railroads financed by government and the laborers who risked renegade and outlaw attacks, snake bites, infections, broken limbs, horse falls, starvation, yellow fever, black lung, tuberculosis, blizzards, drownings, raid attacks by the Mexican out laws, prairie fires, dust storms, heat, cold, floods, plague, diphtheria, to name a few, that took  their lives along with low pay and long hours, and gave of their own ingenuity of blacksmithing, leather making, boot repair along with their understanding of mines to solve problems, none of the progress credited to the Fathers’ of Industry, would have been feasible in the 1900′s, much less the 1800′s.  It did take all of us working together then just as it does today to solve the problems of the future.

It was not until after World War 11 that there was even a middle class in America of any substantial size.  It was the GI Bill with affordable education and housing that was provided by the government and better working and living conditions with better pay that  was  responsible for the middle class and it is what made all dreams possible for all Americans. Companies paid for workers training on the job instead of asking them to get outside training, before they hired them.  For the first time in America the poor could gain wealth through affordable education and fair pay. Our economy boomed as a result of the middle class having discretionary spending and both the Company and the workers profited.

Government initiatives combined with the formation of workers Unions brought wealth to the poor and the workers.  Education guaranteed by government and supported through fair pay laws protected through Union negotiations for the American workers played a much larger role in making wealth possible for All Americans. When free enterprise is left on its own without government controls and Union support for the workers, our pay decreases while their profits increases and our economy falters.

American workers will and are returning to  poverty because of the greed of our free enterprise system and the  lifting of regulations that became worse during the Bush Administration.  When Corporations realizes the quality of the American worker over a sub standard product, and again understand that minimum wages will not spark the economy but only fair wages will, we will again return to a strong middle class.

Companies working together in partnership with Unions, educators, government and on the road that President Obama has established, will again bring  back good paying jobs that we are trained for at our Community colleges, but it will take time to return the middle class to its rightful place. It has taken decades for the greedy to put us in this hole and it will take at least a decade to get us back out of the same hole they dug for us.  When we all have the dignity to be able to provide again, America will return to the fiscal strength my generation became accustomed to. We need to give President Obama four more years before we can see the fruition of it.

Mitt Romney is only right in that Free enterprise does play a role in giving the workers a job but to credit it with bringing wealth to the West or to the workers, when the truth is it was made possible by Government working for us, is a large factor missing in the equation. Government giving immigrants land in exchange for taxes,  government bonds that went into the railroads and the building of our infrastructure, free education provided through government and the Army who mapped out the Railroads, and the military that protected and continues to protect our Freedom,  is the main reason people could ship their product and migrate West.  Government adding armed guards to the trains and sheriffs and policemen  on our Streets so we could move West without fear of death or robbery, seems to be left out by Mitt Romney in the retelling of History.

It was not Free Enterprise that made American Dreams come true but Government being there in partnership with the poor every step of the way to work with us and help us out of poverty, that we of the middle class and many who gained their own wealth have had help from, and we need to support government through a fair and just tax system in return. Our United States Treasury is in desperate need of being replenished by all of us from Wall Street to main Street.

To rob our own government treasury, as Mitt Romney and the Republicans suggest, by adding another 5 trillion dollars to the deficit with a further drop in taxes to the wealthy only continues digging the hole deeper.  To suggest,as Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have, that some how we are dependent on the government instead of the workers having worked in partnership with government to provide for the growing needs and freedom of the American people and free enterprise, is not just an insult to us but an insult to the struggles of our and their own ancestors, as well.

When it has been both the poor and middle class who have made the wealth of free enterprise possible, when we are of all nationalities and have shed our blood and lives for the furthering of the wealth of free enterprise and helped advance our civilization, when we have paid in to our retirements both out-of-pocket and through sacrifice, when we have sacrificed blood, life and limb for a Democracy born out of our Constitution; then the insults of Mitt Romney, who was lying on the beach of France spelling out a love letter to Ann, during his deferment as a Mormon from the draft that he protested in favor of during the Viet Nam War, becomes just that more grievous to us.

The very idea of the Republican complaints against the use of food stamps now that some of us are in a temporary need, that were initiated by their own Bob Dole for a time of need, that they themselves helped create out of greed, by the lifting of regulations over free enterprise is reminiscent of another time in history.  It is attributed to Marie Antoinette that when she was told “the peasants are out of bread” she told them”let them eat cake.” The present group of Republicans led by their hopeful Mitt Romney appear to most of us to have lost sight of the reality and the truth that they themselves have created this deficit of government funds and instead have lifted the regulations that keep the greedy amongst us in check.

It has always been ALL Americans working together, with government and our elected officials working for us, that has made us the greatest and strongest Nation in the World. Jobs provided through free enterprise that only furnished slave labor, deplorable living conditions, and caused the workers to “Owe their soul to the Company Store”, is nothing that we should ever strive to return to, while the rich get richer. Stop their drive to defeat us by voting Democrat in November.
