At a time when we hear Mitt Romney say, “he doesn’t care about the poor” while he says,” he is going to close down HUD” and the Ryan Plan is being proposed and forced into Republican policy in our States and Washington,by Grover Norquist, perhaps it is time that “We the people” write our Representatives and tell them if they want our vote then they must pledge to deny all entitlements to the wealthy.  We have become way too dependent on a group of thugs to make the right decisions for us for too long in the Republican Party, but too many still believe their lies and keep electing them.

At a time when Mitt Romney was a private citizen,no different from the rest of us, he was able to place 100 million dollars into an I.R.A. even though we are all restricted from putting anymore that $1250.00 per person or $2500.00 per couple in, and we can all be certain Mitt Romney, although he is 65, is not so old that he could be able to put that much in nor have I.R.A.’s been around that long.  He also got a tax deduction for $77,000.00 on a prancing horse.

The farmers and ranchers who feed us and the poor and have fought fires and the worse  drought in 50 years, to only lose their crops, herds, pastures and homes this summer, will not get that to help replenish their livelihoods because the Republican elitists are holding women issues and the comprehensive farm bill, devised by the Democrats, hostage over women’s equality and even more tax breaks or entitlements to the wealthy, in Congress. Instead they deny that they will move on denying women the right to make decisions on birth control and health issues and tried to jam through a patched up farm bill of their own that would not have helped the crises that agriculture is in, currently.

Mitt’s great wealth has not hired or fed any of us while he has remained unemployed for 6 years and claims to not know what his holdings are as they have been in blind trust, but he continues to get entitlements and welfare that we pay for. Mitt like all the other Billionaires are getting entitlements granted to them through loopholes and as a result of it, they are sucking off of the needs of  the working poor and middle class to feed our families. ”We the People” certainly did not feel any gain from his trickle down theories, while he was getting those entitlements and was unemployed, now were we?

The Republicans under the lead of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan like to talk about Social Security or medicare being entitlements that Government can no longer afford so Seniors will get vouchers, that will not keep up with the costs of healthcare, but we never do hear them talk about the entitlements that have been given to the wealthy being cut so that Government does not go broke. We keep hearing instead, how the Seniors who paid in are going to have to share the burden if they do not want to see our grandchildren strapped in insurmountable debt.

Never is there even so much as a whisper about the wealthy giving up their really long list of entitlements or welfare, from either Paul Ryan,Mitt Romney or any Republican candidates in the Republican campaigns and if anyone believes them when they say they will close loopholes then may, the Dear Lord, help you out of your denial.  The only loopholes that they plan on closing are the ones that allow us to get a tax break on our mortgage payments.

When we consider that the Billionaires in America are double dipping with government subsidies given to both their Wall Street Companies and Oil Companies that they own, and most of them pay less in taxes than what a family making $40,000.00 to $50,000.00 make per year, then why aren’t we hearing about the sacrifices or entitlements the wealthy are going to have to give up in order to help pay for the Senior population and our grandchildren as well, so that our government that hires us and protects us, remains solvent?  Haven’t you noticed that they never tell us which loopholes they will close but instead Mitt Romney says,”He will let us know after he is elected?”

Have we, or is it just the Republicans, forgotten that a Democracy runs on helping each other to better ourselves and that Our Founding Fathers did establish a government of the people, for the people, and by the people? I do understand that the Tea Party elected who do not believe Our Founding Fathers meant for America to be a Democracy, and instead refer to those who do think we bring everyone up together by helping those  less fortunate than ourselves, as being socialists and communists, but certainly we the voters are smarter and kinder than they are, aren’t we?

If we haven’t forgotten, then why do we keep voting for them?  Do we think unemployed private citizens such as Mitt Romney and his 5 married sons are, should not have to pay into America’s survival so that America remains solvent but instead are allowed to drain off more of America’s resources so the elderly have to pay out of their pockets, is what our Founding Fathers based Democracy on? I will explain why they deliberately want to bankrupt Social Security and government and instead turn it all over to the Insurance Companies in the interest of Capitalism, who will gouge us even worse, a little later down in this post

The biggest difference is that the entitlements the Republicans talk about are never their own but always ours’ even though we pay for our so-called entitlements because  it is taken out of all of our pay checks, just as we Seniors have paid for Social Security and medicare have done already, and unlike the wealthy who never pay for their welfare and entitlements, todays Republicans have the audacity to deny us food stamps, after the election, when we do lose our jobs and need help.

The entitlements that the Republican Party instead pledge to give to the Wealthy,in exchange for the costs of their campaigns, are the true welfare recipients that we can no  longer afford, in America.  When men like the Koch Brothers and Sheldon  Adelson (who is under indictment) combined with Citizens United and Americans for Prosperity along with the far right groups win election on wealth and lies we definitely can no longer afford today’s Republicans.

The Republicans have lied to us and told us for years now,” that the better business does or the wealthy do the better  we all do.”  The “trickle down economics”, of Grover Norquists while saying, “I don’t want to eliminate government, I just want to shrink it so that it is small enough that I can drown it in the bath tub,” is what it smells like and sounds like. Trickle down economics is not only a lie, but the attitudes of the Grover Norquist Republicans is also mean and inhumane.

When the middle class has discretionary spending, because the Republicans are not eliminating our Unions and replacing them with low paying jobs instead, then we all do better, is the real truth.  With every Republican being forced to sign a pledge not to raise taxes on the wealthy and adding another 4.6 trillion dollars to the deficit by giving even more tax cuts to the wealthy, it does not take either a liberal or what they tell you are lies of the progressives,as THEY  claim, to understand who it is that have lied to us for too long. The far-right hate the Roosevelt,Truman, and Lyndon Baines Johnson programs that developed the middle class following World War 2, with the GI Bill and with the protection of Unions and Civil Rights in the 1960′s, so under the control of Grover Norquist they will not quit until they end both, and send women back to the 1950′s.

All it takes is being a member of the working poor and middle class to know that we have been lied to by the Republican Party under the control of a man who goes back to the campaign of Barry Goldwater, when they were trying to force the ideology of the John Birch Society on to Americans in the 1960′s.

As members of the Baby-boomers and as members of The Great generations we recognized the danger of a man who had his own agenda along with the group, that called itself, “the John Birch Society”  interests at heart over our own while he campaigned in the office of Barry Goldwater.  The young man then was Grover Norquist and now it is the same man in the campaigns of all of the Republicans and Republican hopefuls that must take his pledge not to raise taxes on the wealthy.

Instead of it being called the John Birch Society, they now go by the name of”the Tea Party.”  They are no more grass-roots than the majority of we Seniors are;As Paul Ryan can testify to,but never will, after being a member of the same and in Congress for 14 years. Hi highschool teacher in Janestown, Ohio, who has said he had no doubts that Paul Ryan would go on in politics and has had many conversations with him has said,”He will never vote for Romney or Ryan because Ryan and he agree on nothing.  The teacher is a life long Democrat but even we Democrats will vote Republican if we know they are a better candidate for the needs of the people, and clearly today’s  Republicans could care less about the people or government other than to see both the middle class and government disappear.

Its time, we get back to what the youth who have not been steeped in lies and indoctrination of the Tea Party already know, and we vote the Tea Party and Conservative Republicans out of office before Grover Norquist drowns us all in that bath tub with our government that protects all of our rights to our own decisions and to improve ourselves, so we can have the American dream where we too can have power over our rights to our homes, health, laws, safety, schools, education, jobs, safety in flights and from terrorists, consumer goods, benefits, and investments.

Re-elect those who do and will fight for us as President Barack Obama and the Democrats will continue doing. Clinton’s policies were well on their way towards paying down another 5 trillion dollars of deficit when the Republican majority put an end to it and instead spent the money that paid for our healthcare through 2072. They spent the surplus and added another 7 trillion to the deficit by putting two wars on credit while refusing every thing that President Obama tried to do to help improve our economy and jobs.

Our so-called entitlements do not come close to what the Republican Party keeps taking out of our Government Treasury to hand to their own expense accounts, healthcare, pensions, and wages and to their Billionaire cronies who pay for their campaigns. We will not go bankrupt if we get them out-of-the-way as we are still a very wealthy Country as will our government be if we can eliminate those who stand in  way of the Democrats to balance a budget.

If Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and the rest of the Republicans are concerned about there not being enough money to give back to us, that which is rightfully our’s and want to call it entitlements, instead;then they can start taking away some of their own entitlements and welfare while ”We the People”, limit the size of the Republican Party, and do away with the welfare and entitlements that the Republicans have handed out to themselves along with the Wealthy and plan on continuing, just as they have for the last 30 years.   We won’t drown them in the proverbial Grover Norquist bath tub but we can vote them out of OUR GOVERNMENT and  take back our Country from them at the election polls. Vote in November!
