When President Obama showed leniency to the Latino youth this week it was much more than just a smart political move , it was the right thing to do. The Republicans are furious and screaming that the move is unconstitutional even while they threaten yet another law suit even when they themselves know they are wrong.
The real reason the Republicans are furious is because all along they have been saying that there is no bigotry or racism left in America while their own Party has become increasingly more bigoted with the Conservative power that has taken over their Party and it has only increased by the influence of the Tea Party, who are as vocal that they are not racists. Even while the Republicans proclaim this with a straight face, their Conservative Conventions become increasingly more attended by white supremacists groups who act as spokespeople for the Republican Party.
The same groups and Party that have been responsible for adding 1000 new bills in our States that would deny women the right to their own health issues as well as the use of birth control and their right over procreation that would lead to a population explosion in our Nation, even without the disgrace of denying women equality, can hardly now profess that the latino population would take away jobs.
To not see the correlation or the racism in that so-called ideology and contradiction is to wear blinders. If there is such a shortage of jobs over Corporate greed, then can we risk any more births or is it just more of their bigotry to disallow anyone who is not white into America? I think most of us can see beyond their views well enough to understand what the real issues are in the Conservative and Tea Party movements. The Republican Party before these groups entered it and took control were supporters of the Dream Act. This week only made it even more clear where the problem lies in the Republican Party to the observant amongst us.
President Obama not only did the right thing for the Latino youth of America by acknowledging the contribution the Latino community has and can make to both our economy, but also their contribution to the future of America. It has always been the diversity in America that has brought forward the ideas that help create the economy that America ultimately builds and has also made America the melting pot that makes and has made America a leader in world ingenuity, talent, and “the can do” spirit!
First generation Americans, as well as first generation educated Americans, have never been as content to sit idly by and not realize the American dream as the Americans who take for granted their lifestyle as well as their freedom. Their appreciation and dedication to Democracy often supercedes” the instant gratification generations” who have not known anything different. It is a fact, regardless of nationality, and has added to the improvement of our economy as a result of our acceptance of diversity throughout the history of our Nation. Unless we are Native American or Spanish we all have come from a background of immigrants and therefore should be inspired by the continuation of Democracy granted to the deserving this week.
The interruption by the Conservative reporter (who will not get a real mention by me) only added to the unfortunate feelings of two many Conservatives who would rather hate minorities, with his rude attempt to interrupt the President while speaking.
This landmark decision by President Obama has even left the Fox News Teams disagreeing amongst themselves while Bill O’Reilly is saying it is unfair to blame the young people who were brought here by their parents. President Obama has shown his true character and needs to apologize to no man much less the American people. Like President Obama’s move to stand up for the rights of women and to accept the gay population in America, he has exposed the Republican Party for the hypocrites and hate mongers that they are. When their real goal is to defeat the same while denying it they end up looking like the liars that too many of them have become.
The fact that Mitt Romney can only now say he would not repeal the decision made by Homeland Security with the blessings of President Obama, only places Mitt Romney in a much more uncomfortable explanation as to why then has he said he would not vote for the Dream Act and instead invoke self-deportation?
In short the Republicans were caught with their proverbial, “pants down” and now must take umbrage against their own negative views against an entire class and group of people who they have swept under the rug for generations by simply doing nothing while denying their right to exist. It also brings forward and eliminates their own argument as to why President Obama has not done more on immigration. President Obama is now able to expose the Republican contempt against granting equality in America with every attempt they make to argue differently.
In the Republican attempts to say that the Democrats had two years to do something about immigration they are totally denying all the attempts made by them to filibuster every bill that the Democrats tried to move forward along with their deliberate attempts to prolong the discussions on President Obama’s healthcare that ate up much of the time that President Obama had towards trying to make healthcare reform work for the American people. With all the discussions and complaints filed along with law suits it is a miracle that President Obama has accomplished as much as he has in such a short time.
Those who are calling for an apology from Barack Obama for not having done more are only attempting to make our President look weak when he has had perhaps the worse struggle towards righting grievous wrongs than any President before him since Roosevelt or perhaps Truman.
This week clearly showed the American People that the only way that President Obama can do the right thing for the American people is to find legal ways to go around the Republican obstructionist in both Congress and the Senate. The Republicans are furious that they have been exposed for the truth in what they have become when it comes to denying rights to the American people and for not doing the right thing by those who have been denied equality in America.
The actions by President Obama to go around the Republican Party to do the right thing will only make the bigotry and hatred by the Conservatives and Tea Party even more pronounced and vocal in their campaign filled with lies to defeat our President in November. We can all bet that they will continue to yell unconstitutional even though they know this decision has come from Homeland Security and their right to declassify the latino children as a threat to our Society and as anything less than dedicated Americans.
I, for one, along with many I am sure, am very proud to call Barack Obama our President. No American can deny that President Obama has tackled all the tough issues that no President before him has been willing to tackle before, from passing the Lilly Ledbetter bill that had stalled for years in the congress as well as doing the right thing for millions of Americans and would be Americans who have been denied the right to exist prior to the changes made by our President. Isn’t that the kind of change that made us vote for him in the first place?
The economy may not be growing in leaps and bounds but recovering it is. Not only does President Obama have his own efforts being downgraded by Wall Street, the Conservative press and social networks, and the Republican opposition in general, on an hourly basis, but he also faced the crises of an earthquake in Haiti, a Tsunami in Japan, an oil spill by BP along with a Weak Euro over seas.
On top of all of the lies and opposition, as Commander-in-Chief, President Obama and his Administration kept the Bush promise to get Osama Bin Laden, for the American people, while breaking the back of Al Qaeda;withdrew troops from one war while winding down another; aided the people of Libya without doing the major destruction typically seen by war over the objections of Cheney and John McCain;and has been facing a growing threat with Korea, Syria and Iran; while doing more for the Jewish people of Israel and the families of our troops than any President in recent history.
Which leader in recent history can say the same? Certainly none of those who are yelling the loudest and spreading the biggest lies, in my opinion. Only Republicans such as: Eric Cantor, Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney,John Boehner, and Mitch McConnel could complain about President OBama’s success ratio.
It does not seem to be the nature of any of the above, or Republicans in general, to end wars, give support to the people’s needs on a rational level over the greedy,( especially the poor or middle class) nor to make the wealthy pay their fair share so it would follow that they would not support the “Dream Act” either. The Republican history has always supported instead cheap labor from minorities by the Corporations that hire them. As long as the Tea Party elected branch of the Republican Party has their way, the middle class will continue to become the working poor in increasing numbers.
To compare this economic crises with the one that Reagan faced is just more of the unjust propaganda that our President is facing by Wall Street engineers in the Republican Party. Even Reagan had to raise taxes four times which President Obama has yet to do. Stop the greed that is draining discretionary spending from the middle class by replacing the Republicans and keep the success as well as positive change going by re-electing President Obama in November.
