If we listen to the Tea Party and Conservative arms of the Republican Party or Mitt Romney and the Republican Congress, it does not take more than a micro-second, to hear them along with Fox News claim that the OBama Administration is blaming the Bush Administration instead of taking responsibility for the economy.
If you are a follower of my blog, at all ,you will understand that I have spent a great amount of time on reflecting on the danger of passing blame and refusing to take responsibility. I also have said that it is wrong to generalize 100% of the time as there are always exceptions to the rule. This is one of those exceptions.
The reason we need to understand the significance of blame in this election year is because it is a smoke screen that is playing out in America that the Tea Party and Conservatives are fiscal conservatives who are interested in balanced budgets and in getting government spending under control. It is the same smoke screen that Mitt Romney campaigns on in making us believe he has experience in job creation or that trickle down economics works or ”when business does well we all do well”.
When these lies are allowed to permeate our Society instead of the blame being placed on the shoulders of those who are responsible, we only hinder ourselves in ignorance when we do not place the blame squarely on the shoulders of those who are responsible for the crises we faced. If we do not put the blame where it belongs then the past policies of the Bush Administration that are being resurrected again by the Mitt Romney campaign, will only endanger the middle class workers with even greater lay offs and send even more jobs over-seas, as it did in the previous Administration. We will ourselves create a return to those disastrous years that will undo the fragile recovery we are currently in and place ourselves into the Depression forecasted under the Bush Administration. Our unemployment will rise to the height of those of the European market.
In short, the Mitt Romney campaign is nothing more than removing restrictions on business and banking while returning to the Bush Administration policies that will undo our own recovery. The greed of Capitalism does need to be placed under government controls lest we become a Nation of secular and global corruption based on an uncontroled greed. Capitalism just like Democracy needs laws to maintain a healthy perspective on the market place. America needs to be the governing body of both Democracy and Capitalism within its own boundaries.
This argument has been present and has ran in counter circles since the beginning of Capitalism in a free market. We do not need to be less vigilant today just because we are trading in a global market place. We need to, instead, maintain an equal if not greater watch on Capitalism as a result of trading in a global market if we are to maintain any credibility at all towards Capitalism or free enterprise. Once we destroy the reputation of our own free markets or free enterprise through greed, which we came close to doing during the Bush Administration and which Mitt Romney is advocating in doing again while lying about job creation, it takes years to gain back any kind of respectability in the global market. If our partners cannot trust us then we defeat Capitalism, period. If we cannot show or maintain respect for the maintenance of Capitalism how can we expect our trading partners to do the same. Once allowed to become totally corrupted by greed we risk the failure of our own power to lead.
We need to blame those who are responsible for denying women, minorities, and the gay population their Constitutional rights. We need to blame those who do not give a damn about balancing budgets but instead who would eliminate the Unions that both protect bargaining rights as well as our pension funds. We need to put the blame on the Bush Administration policy of “No child left behind” which added to a crippled education policy. We need to blame those whose run away greed is lobbying both our Congress and Senate. We need to blame those Companies, lending institutions, and commerce who during the Bush Administration were given free run under the guise of free enterprise and who pushed us into the edge of a Great Depression.
It is only our own knowledge of the failure of others to place blame on those who are to blame and to give credit due to those who have struggled to fight back to save the middle class from that greed, imposed on all of us, who will right an imbalance in our society. If we have been in a coma or living a life as a hermit on an isolated island then we are excused from knowing and understanding the truth that led to our fiscal crises and who is responsible for the corrosion of our civil rights. We need to educate those who were too young to recall or too disinterested to understand. In other cases we need to help our fellowman, who has been indoctrinated by the lies to the point that reality has failed them to understand that Government is not the problem but the solution to control such out of control greed and denial of Democracy, in the future.
We can no longer afford to not place the blame where it belongs when it leads to the 1% getting richer while the middle class falls farther into debt while being burdened further by the greed unfairly placed on us by the out of control greed of capitalism supported by Wall Street and the Republican Party.
Anyone who does not see the similarities in the Mitt Romney campaign under Carl Rove with those of the Bush Campaign under the same Carl Rove, simply are in denial to the future of America,in my estimation. If we do return to the Bush Administration’s need to allow Capitalism to run uncontrolled,as Mitt Romney is advocating, while Capitalism is fed on the greed, it will ultimately defeat the entire strength of a free Democracy and the credibility of Capitalism. In short we will repeat the mistakes made by Greece.
Not only is the equality of all of us at stake in order to make our own decisions on our own health issues, or the Constitutional rights of equality for all to our own civil rights, but so are the rights of our proud Nation, under threat by those who would deny our economy the right to recover unimpeded by greed. If we do not place blame where it belongs we will only repeat the same mistakes over and over and over. We the middle class will be destined to continue to be the losers along with women, minorities, and the gay community. Vote for the survival of Democracy for all and a fair days wage for a fair days work, by voting for Barack OBama in November.
