Who are the pathetic Lazy rich, you ask? They are the people in America that give all of us who earn the American dream the hard way, and end up being grateful for everything we have, a bad name. Some of the most generous people in America, and the nicest people we will ever know have more money than most of us will ever see.
Many wealthy people are driven or raised to be empathetic and kind and to work hard, so should never be considered lazy or pathetic. Without them there would be no symphonies or art museums or plays on stages. Many support or help the less fortunate. We cannot simply place some of the wealthy into the same class or generalize about them. I have met many and even lived with others that are more down to earth and genuine than many of those who struggle at and really try to leave the impression that they are wealthy. Whether they are or not they are the phony amongst us and certainly not the wealthy I know.
The pathetic lazy rich, however, are quite different. These are the children of those who are raised to feel they are superior to the working class or adopt the attitude themselves. What a great many are not aware of, is in many cases great grandfather’s or daddy’s or husband’s money, is not going to last forever, as most of it is on paper and will not be transferred into cash or collateral, when they die. As a matter of fact, in many cases the roof over their heads will have to be sold to pay the debt and they will have to learn first hand the life of the worker that they have been declaring all their lives are stupid, and they will be lost when it comes to knowing how to hold down a job.
They are third to 7th generation or newby wealth in some cases but in all cases they do nothing but attend to their shallow needs or wants and sometimes that is questionable, as many have a low paid maid to wait on them and to order around. One thing for certain, they do not nor will they ever earn a dime on their own, until after the inheritance runs out or they get cut off by their parents.
Many become pot heads or cocaine addicts or alcoholics because their only concern in life is, if they will go shopping, surfing, boating, play tennis at the club or go clubbing later, and if so, which one. They also spend a lot of time at their summer homes. These are not just teenagers but many times twenty and thirty year olds who have never held jobs. Some will be told to work at their father’s business but many only show up to try to impress their fathers or to draw a salary, and then they are “out of there.”
The police look the other way because of their names when someone does try to arrest them. They for the most part treat everyone like crap who are not a part of their clique’. Although they complain a lot about entitlements to the middle class workers and the poor no one feels more entitled than they do. They make the rest of us, if we really think about it, when we look at our own adult children who work and earn income, grateful we never had that much money.
The more money their Fathers or mothers earn or have inherited the more they treat the people who are hired in the home or around them in restaurants and bars or clubs, like crap. Women or Men stupidly flock to them and they take what they want and dump them until they find the one who serves their every need and their mommy or daddy cannot tolerate them, and then they marry them out of spite, many times. The woman is simply arm candy and they never do develop any kind of real or bonding relationship between them. They are strangers under the same roof.
With the great wealth that has been attained through corporate welfare and paper capitalism, the wealthy or 1% have grown to 40% and some say it is as high as 50% of America’s population. As a result many of these fortunes will and do collapse and the lifestyle of the pathetic lazy rich collapses along with it.
Too many people have a tendency to be jealous of them or admire them simply because they have money and want what they have. Remember I am not talking about the wealthy families who do a wonderful job raising their children, who ultimately will become Doctors, take over family businesses,go into the arts, or other fields today. Fewer of their children will be unlikely to go into politics, as a rule. Long are gone the days, when people considered politics an honorable profession, unfortunately.
We would all do better if we realized that many of the children of the wealthy do not get time and guidance from their parents, and are just empty shells inside, with no real value systems. Too often they have shallow parents who are selfish with their time and have questionable work ethics or morality. Some are such work horses or entertain, out of necessity to maintain their wealth, and the nanny or maid will raise their children. These are the fortunate ones as others will not spend 6 months of their young lives at home as they will live in other States or abroad in boarding schools.
When they grow up watching a total void of love in the home and know cheating is going on, with one or sometimes between both parents, their own minds can and will become somewhat demented or shut down. Many of them will need people to write for them in order to appear genuine, where others have the gift of gab and lies come naturally for them. What often comes out of their mouths will be words that they have learned, are the right thing to say, but are anything but sincere. In order to win in politics, people have to feel that they are one of us. That itself is a road to denial by the people who elect them.
Many of them will be elected to both parties, but primarily, the Republican Party after they graduate from the best of Ivy league colleges, usually with the help of their friends or cheat sheets. Some parents will build a new wing or library at the college, in order for the authorities to over look their son’s indiscretions. The Democrats are more dedicated to the workers when they start out but some will turn rotten after exposure to the lobbyists and bureaucrats and lose sight of their vision.
Many of the Republicans need to believe in capitalism over workers, and they believe very deeply that they are entitled to pay less to the workers, who many times they have spent their entire life looking down their noses at or giving orders to. This also includes their attitudes towards paying taxes. Entitlement, has become their right or privilege, as in their minds, they deserve better treatment from what the workers receive, as they have always gotten it, all their lives. Many are driven by the idea as Romney is that Corporations are people, while others are driven to gain more wealth than their fathers earned.
When we consider that they are taking salaries from the government in the range of $850,000.00 a year, and that is less from what some of them earn ,otherwise, and add to that,if the person is corrupt anyway, and thinks that making deals for the lobbyist while voting to take gifts from them is not immoral,as obviously, Rick Santorun, didn’t, it can and does become one of the fastest ways to gain wealth in America.
This is not to confuse those who earn their way into politics through hard work and dedication with those who did not. On rare occasions there still are a few politicians who have a devotion to the constitution and willingness to represent freedom for all, while maintaining their own values. They often grew up poor or middle class and learned a value system, but sadly too many times, the pressure or the corrupt will bully them out of the right thing to do. Their ego also becomes bigger than their ability to stop the feeling of entitlement, just as it does with those who are born wealthy. After all, they become comfortable with being treated like royalty.
Men like, Republican Chuck Hagel, and ,Democrat John Kerry, of Nebraska will get out before they allow them to destroy their values. A very few others, will stay in to stop the corruption, that they see going on around them. Real politicians with real values are getting fewer and farther between in today’s Republican party, in my opinion.
I don’t make promises, unless I am 100% certain, but I can promise everyone, there is not a Republican candidate that is running who is like us, if we are an employed or unemployed poor or middle class worker. Therefore, it would be less than honest of me, if I did not question your values, if you agree to support any of them. I will not judge you harshly, however, as it is not a part of my belief system,to do so, and I believe in a two Party system.:)
Their resume will look superb, but most of them actually did very little and instead had someone who kissed their butts, because of their money, do it for them or found a good writer who could turn doing nothing into accomplishment. When they sign up for charitable work they simply do it to get their name on the roster and rarely if ever show up. Their achievements when they do decide that they want to or need to earn an income will be earned off of the backs of those who make them look good.
Too many are saying.”the system is broken.” It is not so much the system that doesn’t work, as it is the caliber of people we keep electing. Think about that when you go to the election polls, whenever your Republican primaries or caucuses begin. We all need to ask if they will represent us, the poor or middle class workers, since our own children are either depending on us to feed them, or for us to have the ability to feed ourselves.
