So in the Bible we read………….”And on the seventh day God rested.” Think about it folks, on the one day out of the week the Dear Lord takes time off to rest man decides to worship.

It puts me in mind of sending a man to the grocery store or out to run an errand. No matter how many times we tell our husband or boy friend,or son, “If you forget everything else, no matter what else you do, do not forget such and such. I can get along without everything else but I MUST have this.” Yes that’s right! It is always going to be the one thing that he forgets to bring home first! He’ll come in with his chest all stuck out and his pride swelling and say, “I got everything on the list that you wanted as well as this. It was on sale and I knew you like it.” But where is the “I must have item” you ask, “Oh, that is the one thing I forgot.” It happens everytime!

It has to be that line of thinking and therfore a man’s decision that led to Sunday worship. The one day out of the week that the Dear Lord wants to go down to the creek, pond or lake and do a little fishing and man decides to set this same day aside to start giving Him praise or asking favors.

While the Dear Lord is out on the golf course watching someone get that perfect “hole in one” you all are sitting in the churches asking Him for favors or for forgiveness for your own selfishness. When He doesn’t hear or answer then you start grumbling, “I asked the Lord and He did NOTHING!” Of course He didn’t. the Dear Lord works according to His Will and if he didn’t answer He and you were not in agreement. It’s pretty much God’s will or the highway, I’ve discovered. On the 7th Day God rests.

It’s like trying to talk a woman out of the pair of shoes she wants. It ain’t going to happen. So if you find that you are asking the Dear Lord to always hear your prayers on a Sunday but never asking Him to hear them another day, then my suggestion is that you rearrange your schedule a little. Hasn’t the Dear Lord done enough, already, for mankind that we can go along with the idea that on Sunday (the seventh day) He is resting? He very well may bless you for it!
